On Sunday afternoon, the CCCHS Lady Raiders won 15-14 in an offensive shootout over the Tullahoma Wildcats at Terry Floyd Field.
As part of their Strikeout Cancer game, Lady Raider Softball teamed up with NFCA and Make-A-Wish Foundation with proceeds from the game being donated to Make-A-Wish Middle Tennessee.
The Sunday afternoon tilt would prove to be a battle of the bats, as each team would end up with double digits in hits.
Tullahoma would start things off in the top of the first inning, scoring four runs to take an early 4-0 lead.
Coffee County would join in on the offensive fireworks, as Jalyn Moran fired off a two-run home run to make the score 4-2, then Paisley Campbell would score on a sacrifice fly by Madison Pruitt to cut the Wildcat lead to 4-3.
Tullahoma would add to their lead in the second inning, scoring three runs to lead 7-3, then the Lady Raiders scored five in the bottom of the second, including a two-run home run by Willow Carden to make the score 7-5 and another two-run homer by Moran that sailed over the left field fence to tie the score at 7-7. Coffee County would take their first lead of the game when Paisley Campbell reached home on a fly ball by Madison Pruitt to make the score 8-7.
The Wildcats tied the score at 8-8 in the top of the third, but the Lady Raiders took the lead back with two runs in the bottom of the inning to lead 10-8.
Tullahoma erupted for six runs in the top of the fourth inning to take a 14-10 lead, then the Lady Raiders answered with three runs of their own to cut the lead to 14-13.
Coffee County would draw even in the bottom of the fifth inning, as Kara Wheeler scored on a Riley Phillips double, tying the score at 14-14, which stayed the same until the seventh inning.
The Lady Raiders would load the bases in the bottom of the seventh, then Savannah Cooper hit a fly ball to center field, reaching first base on an error and allowing Maggie Montgomery to run in for the game winning score, 15-14.
Jalyn Moran had two hits, including her two home runs along with three RBIs, Willow Carden had three hits, including a home run and four RBIs, Riley Phillips had two hits and one RBI, Savannah Cooper had one hit and one RBI, Madison Pruitt had one RBI, Chesnie Cox had two hits and Ella Arnold, along with Paisley Campbell, each had one hit for Coffee County.
Katelyn Anderson and Lily Norman each made an appearance in the circle for Coffee County, with Norman getting the win after pitching 5.2 innings, allowing seven runs on seven hits, striking out six batters and walking one on 101 pitches.
With the win, the Lady Raiders get the season sweep over Tullahoma and improve to 9-5 on the season, having won three of their last four games.
Coffee County will play host to district rival Shelbyville Central on Tuesday, Apr. 9 at 7:00 pm.
