GATE CITY — The Union boys soccer team dealt Gate City its first loss of the year Tuesday night.
Brayden Wharton scored on an assist from Reyshawn Anderson in overtime, lifting the Bears to a Mountain 7 district victory, 3-2.
Anderson accounted for Union’s first two goals, both assisted by Wharton.
Keyshawn Anderson got the win in goal, finishing with 17 saves.
Walker Hillman and Garrett McLain both scored for the Blue Devils, with Alex Eastman dishing out one assist. Bryson Smith made four saves.
Dobyns-Bennett 1, Greeneville 1
GREENEVILLE — Brogan McGhee broke the scoreless tie in the 12th minute for Dobyns-Bennett, on an Adrian Calo assist.
Samuel Gourley scored the equalizer 19 seconds into the second half, allowing the Greene Devils play to a draw.
D-B held a 19-13 advantage in shots taken, 14-6 on goal. Ethan Cline made five saves for the Indians.

BRISTOL, Tenn. — James Bowling’s hat trick led the Vikings to a district victory.
Maxx Horne made 13 saves in goal for the Patriots.
Grainger 2, Volunteer 1
CHURCH HILL — Playing a man down for 65 minutes after an early red card, the shorthanded Falcons kept fighting. Cameron Cox scored on a Brinley Buchanan assist after the card, but the Grizzlies emerged victorious.
Abingdon 10, Ridgeview 1
CLINTWOOD — Freshman Branson Quesenberry completed the hat trick for Abingdon, and Rylan Kreps scored twice to lead the way.

GATE CITY — Bekah Reid completed the hat trick, while Erin Hensley and Avery Elam combined for the shutout win in goal.
Aubrey Smith, Emma Reed, Isabella Hartsock, Georgia Griffis and Ayden Seaver all scored once for the Lady Devils. Kelly Quillen dished out two assists while Brooke Stokes, Cece Roper, Alexi Hensley, Smith and Reed all had one.

CLINTWOOD — Elizabeth Nichols, Ella Seymore and Eliza Burcher all finished with hat tricks as the Lady Falcons rolled to victory.

CHURCH HILL — Connor Haynes hit a two-run single in the fourth inning, and the Falcons jumped ahead 3-0 before holding on.
Austin Williams struck out 10 to get the seven-hit win.
Clay Wagoner and Manning Brooks (double) both went 2-for-3 to lead Cherokee.
University High 4, Sullivan East 3
JOHNSON CITY — Sam Duncan ripped an RBI double to break a 2-2 tie in the third inning, and Ben Painter’s one-out single drove home the eventual winning run.
Duncan, who went 3-for-4 with two RBIs, pitched four innings and struck out five, before Brett Fields allowed just one hit with two Ks in relief. Peter Boynewicz and Knox Poston had two hits apiece.
Avery McCoy, Zach Johnson and Chaz Carrier all singled and scored for the Patriots, with Blake Hayes driving in two.
John S. Battle 10, Wise Central 1
WISE — Porter Gobble struck out seven and allowed two hits over the first five innings to get the win, in addition to hitting 2-for-3 and scoring twice.
Caden Sturgill drove in three runs, and Elijah Childress doubled twice with three runs scored.
Grey Kennedy and Gabe Thompson had both of Central’s hits.
