The High School Lady Wildcats’ softball team went to Manchester for a rematch against Coffee County and lost 15-14.
The Lady ‘Cats led 14-11 going into the bottom of the fourth inning. The Lady Raiders tied the game at 14 in the fourth. Then in the bottom of the seventh, with the bases loaded and two outs a Tullahoma error allowed the winning run to cross the plate. The Lady Wildcats committed four errors that resulted in three unearned runs.
Tullahoma out-hit Coffee County 17 to 12. Madison Goad led the way going 4-for-5 at the plate with a pair of Home Runs and racking up six RBI. Kaitlynn Gattis had a three hit game including two doubles. Kylee Holt, Addye Norman, Brinley Gillam and Sara Tate all had two hit games. Gillam, Gattis and Norman had two RBI each. Miaha Johnson and Margaret Lynch each had a hit. Johnson’s hit was an RBI double. The Lady ‘Cats drew just one walk, Tate took the free base.
Amaya Sharp started for Tullahoma and pitched the first three innings. She struck out two and only walked two. AC Holloway took the circle in relief and pitched the last 3.2 innings. She only allowed three hits.
The Lady Wildcats will travel to Franklin County on Thursday before returning home on Friday to play Shelbyville at 5:30 p.m.
