After setting a new Lindsey Nelson Stadium attendance record during Friday night’s series opener against LSU, the Tennessee fanbase broke it just one day later on the heels of the Vols’ Orange and White spring football game on Saturday afternoon.

Tennessee set the new record on Friday night with 5,901 fans packed into the newly renovated stadium during the 6-3 win that evening. The next day, though, Tennessee crushed the record with 6,155 fans jammed into the stadium. With the seats full, Tennessee had lines of fans standing in a window to the field in just about every walkway in the stadium.

Tennessee’s spring football game wrapped up right around 3:00 p.m. on Saturday afternoon, prompting waves of the 10,000 fans at Neyland Stadium to make the half-mile walk over to the Vols’ baseball stadium before the 5:30 p.m. first pitch.

While it wasn’t a third-straight record-setting showing, Tennessee once again filled the stadium to max capacity in the Sunday afternoon series finale against the Tigers. The Vols’ frequent record-breaking attendance numbers this season are thanks to the massive stadium renovation project over the offseason that added more than 500 new seats around the stadium.

Tennessee’s fans had a good weekend, too. In addition to the spring football game showing highly-anticipated football in Knoxville, Tennessee also swept LSU on the diamond with a 6-3 victory on Friday, a 3-1 win on Saturday, and an 8-4 win on Sunday.

Tennessee Athletic Director Danny White posted a graphic showing the Vols’ athletic success over the weekend, adding in a series win over Mississippi State for Tennessee softball, an astounding 10.77 in the 100-meter dash from Tennessee’s Jacious Sears, the second-fastest performance in NCAA history, and an 8-0 weekend against Kentucky and Vanderbilt from the Tennessee women’s tennis program.

The stars were out for the festivities, too.

Tennessee’s men’s basketball team and head coach Rick Barnes led the Vol Walk before the spring game to celebrate their SEC regular season championship while a trio of Tennessee figures had honorary first-pitch responsibilities before the baseball games. New Lady Vols basketball coach Kim Caldwell threw out the pitch on Friday followed by soon-to-be Hall of Famer and VFL Todd Helton on Saturday and SEC Player of the Year Dalton Knecht on Sunday.
