Senior Dakota Grayson signed to play football at Bethany College last Tuesday. The decorated defensive back signed his letter during a small ceremony, surrounded by friends, family and coaches at Grundy County High School.
“I am so proud of Dakota for accomplishing his goal of playing at the college level,” head coach Nick Bryant said. “Dakota told me as a sophomore that his goal was to have the opportunity to play football in college. He dedicated many extra hours of work and time to achieve this.”
Grayson lettered two seasons for the Yellow Jackets and was a two-time all-region selection. Along with five offensive touchdowns as a senior, the athletic safety garnered 101 total tackles, six interceptions and returned one INT for a touchdown in his two seasons in purple and gold.
Grayson competed in the Blue-Grey All-American Bowl at AT&T Stadium in Dallas in December, after receiving postseason bowl invitations from four different games, and was a Tennessee 3A Preseason All-State Honorable Mention by Prep Redzone,
Bethany College is located in Lindsborg, Kansas and is an NAIA program and competes in the Kansas Collegiate Athletic Conference.Â
Grayson is the second Yellow Jacket to sign with a college this year. Fellow senior Colton Rogers signed with Anderson University in Indiana in February.
