The Franklin County High School boys and girls tennis teams competed in a match Thursday against Moore County High School at the Lakewood Country Club in Tullahoma.
The Rebels won the boys portion of the match by a close 4-3 margin with three of their victories coming in singles matchups.
Avi Patel and Krish Patel both recorded close 8-6 victories while William Orr picked up an 8-5 win in his singles match to help the cause for Franklin County.
The remaining two singles matches were claimed by Moore County with Franklin County’s Rafa Silva and Pratham Patel losing by respective scores of 8-4 and 8-3.
The teams split the doubles matches for the day with the duo of Silva and Avi Patel winning their contest by a score of 9-7 while Pratham Patel and Orr took an 8-0 loss.
With the win, the Rebels improved to 2-9 on the season.
The girls half of the match was dominated by the Raiderettes as they beat the Rebelettes in a 7-0 sweep.
The singles matches on the girls side were all decisively won by Moore County with Jesse Burris taking an 8-2 defeat, Camryn Ragland and Aubree May both losing by 8-1 margins and Leanna Hobbs and Sadie Wells dropping their respective contests by scores of 8-0.
The doubles matches were also both taken by the Raiderettes with the team of Burris and May losing by a score of 8-3 while the duo of Ragland and Hobbs took an 8-1 loss.
With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 3-8 on the season.
FC tennis versus Shelbyville
The FCHS boys and girls tennis teams competed in a match Tuesday against Shelbyville Central High School with both Franklin County teams taking overall losses.
The Rebelettes lost their portion of the match by a score of 5-2 with both of their victories coming in singles competition.
Hobbs recorded a decisive 8-2 victory in her singles match while Zoey Nice-Francis beat her opponent by a score of 8-6.
The Golden Eaglettes would take the remaining singles matches as Ragland, Burris and Amelia Maxon all took 8-3 defeats for the day.
Shelbyville won both of the doubles matches as well to clinch an overall team victory on the girls side as the team of Nice-Francis and Ragland lost by an 8-6 margin while Maxon and Burris dropped their match by a score of 8-3.
With the loss, the Rebelettes moved to 3-7 on the season.
The Rebels lost as a team by a 6-1 margin with Orr recording the lone boys victory of the day for Franklin County in his singles match.
Orr and his opponent were tied at 8-8 late in the match with Orr winning the tiebreaker by a score of 7-3 to clinch a win.
However, the Golden Eagles claimed the remaining singles matches with Pratham Patel dropping his contest by a score of 8-5, Krish Patel and Silva taking 8-2 losses and Avi Patel falling by a score of 8-0.
Both doubles matches also went Shelbyville’s way as Pratham Patel and Krish Patel lost by a score of 8-2, and the team of Avi Patel and Silva took an 8-0 defeat.
With the loss, the Rebels moved to 1-9 on the season.
The FCHS boys and girls tennis teams will next compete Monday at home against Marshall County High School. The match is scheduled to begin at 4 p.m.
