CLARKSVILLE, TN (CLARKSVILLE NOW) – The West Creek Coyotes hosted the quarterfinal playoff matchup with cross-town adversary Rossview on Thursday. The Hawks would fight, but the West Creek offense exploded for 32 points, carrying them to a 32-0 victory.

West Creek has been led by their defense all year, and the Coyote unit did their jobs again, pitching a shutout. However, the offense decided they wanted to keep pace with the other side of the ball, and they scored three touchdowns in the first 18 minutes of the game.

West Creek head coach Aaron King was glad to see the girls’ hard work pay off. “We’ve put in a lot of practice time to work out the kinks of the offense,” said King. “Today we all put it all together, and I couldn’t be more proud of them.”

West Creek’s offense is led by quarterback Kinleigh Lewis, who not only has a cannon for an arm, but can also make something out of nothing with her scrambling ability. Lewis thinks consistency is the key to a deep postseason run.

“We found our groove and we stayed calm through adversity,” said Lewis. “Going into the next game, we have to stay cool, mistakes are going to happen, but we have to shake it off because we know what we can do.

As for Rossview, their season comes to an end, and they will look to rebuild for next year. For West Creek, they have a date with Clarksville High, a game that will be played Friday. King says they’re just taking this thing one game at a time.

“We take everything one at a time,” said King. “Going into this we just were looking at who we play round one and no further. It’s always good to get a lot of momentum in the first round, and every team is really good. I like our chances.”
