Davidson Academy baseball's Peyton Vaughn voted Nashville area boys athlete of week

The votes are in and fans have spoken.

Davidson Academy baseball’s Peyton Vaughn was voted as the Nashville area La-Z-Boy Furniture Galleries boys athlete of the week for April 15-20.

Vaughn won with 842 votes for 34.3% of the 2,452 total. He was 3-for-4 with two doubles and four RBIs in a 12-1 win over Jo Byrns.

Smith County’s Ty Martin was second with 775 votes (31.6%).  Martin was 3-for-5 with a home run and four RBIs in a 14-3 win over York.

Providence Christian’s Sean Birkofer was third with 432 votes (17.6%). Birkofer was 3-for-4 with two home runs, a double and six RBIs in a 14-3 win over Zion Christian.
