KINGSPORT — The Dobyns-Bennett softball team not only finished the regular season on a high note, but also jumped into the No. 2 seed for the District 1-4A tournament.
Hailey Porter hit a solo blast to lead off the fifth inning to lead the Lady Indians in the four-run frame, as D-B took down Daniel Boone 7-1.
Julianne Tipton notched a pair of singles and three RBIs in the effort, while also throwing a complete game in the circle. She scattered just three hits while allowing just one run.
Kyleigh Bacon hammered another home run on the season for the Lady Blazers.
West Ridge 3, Science Hill 0
JOHNSON CITY — Miranda Henley and Victoria Browder combined for a dominating pitching performance for the Lady Wolves. Henley earned the win after four shutout innings, allowing just three hits, while Browder claimed the save after three no-hit frames.
Lacey Fugate hit a solo home run in the seventh as part of a two-hit game.
Isabel Meeks struck out eight in a complete game effort of her own for the Lady Toppers.
David Crockett 11, Cherokee 0
ROGERSVILLE — Madelyn Dulaney doubled as part of a three-hit, three runs scored performance for the Lady Pioneers.
Brylee Tullock also collected three hits, also driving in one RBI and scoring twice.
Kierce Manis reached base in both of her plate appearances for the Lady Chiefs, being hit by a pitch in the second and hitting a single in the fifth.
Gate City 7, Ridgeview 5
GATE CITY — With the bases loaded down by one, Kendall Glover hit a two-out, walk off double for the Lady Blue Devils. The winner was the second hit of the game for Glover.
Ada Gillenwater pitched well in a start, allowing just one unearned run in four innings. She punched out seven batters as well.
Alyssa Kiser tripled and scored a run for the Lady Wolfpack.
Eastside 11, Twin Springs 0
COEBURN — Emma Sartin drove in four RBIs on two hits for the Lady Spartans. Two of those RBIs came on a two-out home run to left in the third.
Sartin also tossed two scoreless innings in relief after three scoreless from Braelyn Hall, who earned the winning decision.
Makenzie Gillenwater reached base in both of her plate appearances for the Lady Titans, singling once and walking once.
Rye Cove 16, Thomas Walker 0
EWING — Montana Dillowe could not get out for the Lady Eagles. She had a single and a pair of walks on her way to scoring three runs.
Jasmine Stanley got eight of the nine outs required for this three-inning contest, surrendering just one hit.
Tayleigh Glass had said lone hit for the Lady Pioneers, singling in her only plate appearance.
BASEBALL
Eastside 13, Twin Springs 0
COEBURN — Keldan Hamilton dealt on the mound for the Spartans, allowing just two hits in five innings while recording six strikeouts.
Clay Ward was one of many productive hitters at the plate, going 2-for-2 with two walks, two runs scored, and two RBIs.
Kalub Mullins had the lone extra-base hit for the Titans, a leadoff double in the second inning.
J.I. Burton 4, Castlewood 2NORTON — Brandon Edwards toed the slab for the Raiders and tossed a complete game, striking out five and scattering six hits in seven innings.
Dru Peters doubled as part of a two-hit game. He also drove in a pair of runs. Edwards also added a triple.
Jasper Salyers went 1-for-2 with a double for the Blue Devils.
BOYS SOCCER
Dobyns-Bennett 7, West Ridge 0
KINGSPORT — Brogan McGhee and Gavin Farmer both scored twice for the Indians in their district finale, and Wyatt Arrowood dished out two assists. Lucas Park, Bryson Broadwater and Junsung Montanaro all scored for the Tribe with McGhee, Owen Condon and Cooper McLain adding one assist each.
Three goalkeepers combined for the shutout win in goal, Ossie Franklin and Ethan Cline making two saves each.
Cole McDavid kept the damage to a minimum, making 26 saves for the Wolves.
Union 8, Wise Central 3
BIG STONE GAP — Brayden Wharton and Reyshawn Anderson did all the work offensively as Union now prepares for its Mountain 7 showdown with Gate City Thursday night. Both players scored four goals, with Wharton dishing out four assists and Anderson three helpers.
Keyshawn Anderson made six saves in goal.
Isaac Wallin’s hat trick accounted for all of the Warriors’ scoring.
Science Hill 2, Daniel Boone 0
GRAY — Samuel Moody and Jake Jensen found the back of the net for the Hilltoppers, before storms ended the match with 10 minutes remaining.
Palmer Kind and Mikel Muingbeh dished out one assist each, while Foster Childress recorded the clean sheet in goal.

CUMBERLAND GAP — Cameron Cox accounted for all four goals as the Falcons won a muddy match on the road.
Evan Lukens and Garron Barnett each had assists.
Tennessee High 10, Sullivan East 1
BLUFF CITY — Kingston Stewart accounted for the lone goal by the Patriots, on a Nolan Woolwine-Senter assist.
Maxx Horne made 10 saves, and Josh Turpin six.

Gate City 11, Ridgeview 1
GATE CITY — Georgia Griffis completed a hat trick, while Reagan Crawford and Madison Tipton (1 assist) both scored twice for the Lady Blue Devils. Emma Reed dished out four assists, and Crawford two.
Aubrey Smith (1 assist), Nebraska Nuckels, Cece Roper and Reed all scored once with Ayden Seaver handing out one assist.
Erin Hensley and Avery Elam (2 saves) combined for the win in goal.
Wise Central 9, Union 0
BIG STONE GAP — Bella Newberry scored three goals and dished out one assist to lead the Lady Warriors. Abbie Jordan and Emma Day each scored twice, and Alexandra Onate finished with two helpers. Sophia Stallard (1 assist) and Adyson Moore both found the back of the net once, with Riley Stallard adding one assist.
