Fan poll: Columbia Academy's MJ Harakas voted top area softball player of the regular season

The votes are in and it came down to the final day as Columbia Academy's MJ Harakas edged out the competition, being voted by fans as the top Columbia area softball player of the regular season.

Harakas finished with 1,571 votes, 42.86% of the total responses. Harakas batted .463 in the regular season with 37 hits, four doubles and four triples.

Richland's Ava Shrader just barely missed out on the top spot, finishing second in voting with 1,455 votes, 39.7% of the total. Shrader had 77 strikeouts with a 7-3 record and a 1.69 ERA this regular season. She batted .400 with 10 doubles, a triple and 18 RBIs.

Third place was Columbia Academy's Anna Brewer, who finished with 219 votes, 5.98% of the total. The Stanford commitment had seven doubles, five home runs and batted .531 in the regular season.
