The Trousdale County High School softball team won its two vs. three District 6-2A Tournament games on Tuesday with a 9-1 score over Westmoreland. The Lady Jackets put up three runs in the third inning, two in the fifth, and four in the sixth, while the Lady Eagles plated their only run in the fifth.

Taren Simmons, Emma Holder, and Jazmyne Dunn had two hits each, as the Purple and Gold secured its third win of the year over the Lady Eagles. Maddie Lee, Kayleigh Dunn, Cayden Ray, Kindle Berry and Leah Banks added one hit a piece.

Lee picked up the win in the circle, as she recorded seven strikeouts, while giving up seven hits and two walks.

With the victory, Coach Blake Satterfield’s girls raised their overall record to 12-4.

The Hartsville girls completed their regular season on May 1 with a 10-0 home win over Smith County. They scored five runs in the second inning, three in the fifth, and Lee ended the game with a two-run homerun in the bottom of the sixth.

Lee was also the winning pitcher, as she recorded the complete game shutout, striking out four Lady Owls, while rendering four hits and one walk.

The hosts collected 11 hits, as Lee, Simmons, and Kayleigh Dunn each had two. One of Dunn’s hits was a towering homerun over the center field fence. Bailey Hines, Berry, Aubrie Wemple, Ray, and Banks added one apiece.
