Lady Vols earn overall 3 seed while Hokies head west for WCWS regionals

Sundays are for selection shows, the Women's College World Series stage was being set on Sunday, with Tennessee and Virginia Tech waiting to hear their names come off of the board.

The Lady Vols did not have to wait long to hear their names called. Tennessee earned the highest seed in program history with the 3rd overall seed.

Tennessee will host Dayton in their opening game with Virginia and Miami (OH) also in their regional.

A short while later, the Hokies had their destination set. Virginia Tech is headed across the country to sunny Los Angeles as they are headed the 6th overall seed, UCLA's regional.

The Hokies will play SDSU in their opening game.

Regional play starts on Friday.
