The Lady Falcon Softball team run ruled Coffee County for the third time this season winning 13-3 in the District 9-4A Championship. The ladies advanced in the double-elimination tournament with a 6-0 win over Warren County and a 12-1 win over Coffee County in the semi-finals. Hallie Meeks was named the Offensive Player of the Year. Mia Brown was District Player of the Year. Coach Troy Smith was honored as Coach of the Year.

Lincoln County softball dominated the 4A District 9 tournament at their home complex. The Lady Falcons won their three games by a combined score of 31-4 en route to the district title.
Tournament play began on May 3, with a 6-0 shutout of Warren County. That was followed three days later by a 12-1 run rule victory over Coffee County in six innings, putting Lincoln County in the district championship.
After two days’ rest, the Lady Falcons yet again run ruled Coffee County. This time it took five innings to win 13-3 and bring home district gold.
Hallie Meeks led the Lincoln County offense with seven hits in 11 at bats, recording multiple hits in all three games. She also bashed two homeruns in the semifinal and an inside the park homerun in the championship.
Mia Brown pitched all 18 innings of the tournament for the Lady Falcons. She allowed just three earned runs and struck out 17 batters.
Regular season district awards were announced Thursday. Meeks was named Offensive Player of the Year and Brown Player of the Year.
Head coach Troy Smith and assistant coaches Maurice Hambrick and Timmy Swinford were named Coaching Staff of the Year.
Next up is the region tournament for the Lady Falcons. When weather permits, the first task will be the Summit Spartans.
