The magical postseason run for Tennessee women's tennis ended in the wee hours of Saturday in the program's second-ever NCAA Final Four.

No. 16 seed Lady Vols fell 4-1 to No. 13 seed Texas A&M in Stillwater, Oklahoma. Tennessee (22-8) earned a Final Four berth for the first time since 2002, when coach Alison Ojeda was a senior on the team. UT pulled off the upset over No. 8 seed UCLA on Friday, but couldn't do it again to advance to the championship.

UT is the lowest seed to reach the semifinals since the 64-team era began in 1999. The Lady Vols recorded 22 wins, the most wins in a season under Ojeda.

Tennessee women's tennis celebrates its upset win over UCLA on Friday, May 17 to advance to the Lady Vols' first NCAA Final Four since 2002.

The Aggies (27-7) won the doubles point to start the night 1-0. The Lady Vols battled back in singles, taking the three opening sets and sending a fourth to a tiebreak, but they couldn't complete the comeback.

Sofia Cabezas, who took down the reigning NCAA singles champion Friday, faced the nation's top-ranked player, Mary Stoiana. She fell in two sets (6-1, 6-2), and Elza Tomase also fell in two sets, though she pushed the first set to an extra game (7-5, 6-2). Esther Adeshina won UT's lone singles match.
