KINGSPORT — Rick Barnes has taken the Tennessee basketball program to new heights in his nine seasons as Vols coach.
The Vols are coming off a 27-9 season which included the SEC regular-season championship and the Vols’ second-ever advancement to the Elite 8 of the NCAA tournament. The 69-year-old Hickory, N.C., native is one of only two active Division I men’s coaches, along with John Calipari, with over 800 career victories.
