Do you really think this is the first time this player played like this?
<<probably not. We have an example of a local high school match with similar behavior. Players are passionate, and the passion gets instilled at an early age, unless you think its the Pecos River water that turned her>>
How can professional cameraman who likely never cover a soccer match pick this up (imagine what we didn't see) and four paid officials didin't?
<<This footage was submitted by BYU and probably edited to show only her transgressions>>
The New Mexico coach kept her in the game.
<<as long as the refs did not sanction, there was no need to do any other>>
First, yep. She should be removed from the sport.
<<pretty drastic. Lets think this out for a minute. She loses her scholarship over a very hotly contested match. Then she drops out of college, and works at McDonalds or some servile job all because of one game. >>
Second, the official should have their license revoked, permanently. They failed at their job, miserably. They also should receive some type of monetary penalty.
<<football officials have let worse go. Lets not punish referees unduely. They are hard to come by at that level. To referee at the collegiate level, a person must be one of the top in the area>>
Finally, the coach should be fired. He saw it and did nothing. I would doubt seriously if this is the first time this player used such antics.
<<so fire the coach from his full time job, and displace his family. He probably loses his house and his wife leaves him. His kids grow up in a broken home yet another statistic and possibly maladjusted..yes that is pretty drastic..>>>
Once again, what didn't we see that took place on that field.
