Leigh Allison Reaves

SCOTTSBORO — Boaz sophomore Leigh Allison Reaves qualified for the Class 1A-5A, North 1 sub-state tournament due to her strong performance in the Class 1A-5A, Section 4 Tournament on Tuesday at Goose Pond Colony.

“Leigh Allison had the best score of any of the individual qualifiers with a score of 84,” said Boaz head coach Randy Nelson. “It was the third-best score in the whole tournament. There were about 80 girls in the tournament.

“Leigh Allison will be competing in the sub-state Monday at Gadsden Country Club. She can possibly advance to the state tournament from there.”

Reaves also qualified for the sub-state as a freshman.

The Pirates finished sixth in the team standings, shooting a 294. There were 11 schools in the field.

Both Ashlyn Smith and Erica Freeman shot a 105 for Boaz.
