Walmart and The Salvation Army are hosting a "Fill the Truck" toy drive in Ridgecrest beginning next week. Walmart customers can drop off new, unwrapped toys into the truck that will be parked in the Walmart parking lot at 911 N. China Lake Blvd.

Donations will be accepted Dec. 13 and 20 from 4 to 8 p.m., and Dec. 14 and 21 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Dec. 15 and 22 from noon to 5.

Ridgecrest's "Fill the Truck" toy drive is part of a nationwide toy drive taking place on weekends across the country between Nov. 29 to December 15 in 1,600 Walmart stores.

The Nationwide toy drive will bring hundreds of thousands of toys to children across the country.

Salvation Army Envoy Donna Griffin said the programs helps the families that do not get toys from Toys For Tots after those toys have been distributed. "We do not duplicate, we work with Toys For Tots," she said. "All toys stay here in Ridgecrest."
