Class 1A-3A, 4A and 5A soccer semifinals are underway in Huntsville.
Six teams will punch their tickets to the state championship games on Wednesday, with the semifinals to finish up on Thursday with 6A and 7A.
The state finals will begin on Friday.

CLASS 5A GIRLS
Westminster Christian 1, Springville 0 (2 OT, Westminster wins (5-4) in PKs)
A matchup between two state champions from last season lived up to the hype.
Last season‘s Class 4A champion Westminster Christian knocked off defending Class 5A state champion and No. 1-ranked Springville in a matchup that was decided by penalty kicks.
The No. 5-ranked Wildcats will face No. 2 St. Michael Catholic in the state championship match on Friday.
After tying 3-3 in the first series of penalty kicks, a save on a Springville attempt was followed by the final penalty kick from Annie Collier finding the back of the net; she had 3 shots on goal in the win for Westminster to lead the team.
Piper Blazier recorded 12 saves at goalkeeper for Westminster Christian as Springville’s Abby Holland held the Wildcats scoreless from her goal as well.
Springville star Rebecca Sierra-Burciaga had a game-high 9 shots and 7 shots on goal.
St. Michael Catholic 4, Indian Springs 1
Class 5A No. 2 St. Michael will play in another state title game with a strong second-half performance to take a win over No. 8 Indian Springs.
The Cardinals will face Westminster Christian for the Class 5A state title game on Friday, setting up a matchup of the last two Class 4A state championship games; Westminster won 3-1 last season.
After the score was tied 1-1 at halftime, the Cardinals went on to score 3 straight to close out the matchup.
Abigail Smeraglia had a hat trick for St. Michael, scoring on a penalty kick in the first half and adding another pair of goals in the second half on assists from Nora Montgomery and Francheska Arellano.
Caroline Callahan had the final goal for St. Michael with 69:16 in the game and led the Cardinals with 7 shots in the victory.
Indian Springs’ Ashna Mehra scored 15:03 into the game and finished with a team-high 5 shots in the loss.
CLASS 5A BOYS
Indian Springs 3, Faith Academy 1
Class 5A No. 2 Indian Springs used three first-half goals to power past No. 8 Faith Academy and into the state title game.
Indian Springs will face No. 1-ranked Guntersville on Friday for the state championship.
An early goal from Alex Hage was followed by others from Tom Freitas and Long Troung to add to a solid first-half showing.
Hage led the team with 3 shots in the win.
Faith Academy’s Asa Gurley had the lone goal for the Rams, while Aiden Morris had 4 shots to lead the team.
Guntersville 5, Boaz 1
Class 5A No. 1 Guntersville won a huge Marshall County showdown with a dominant victory over Boaz on Wednesday.
The Wildcats will face No. 2-ranked Indian Springs on Friday for the 5A title.
Adan Shumate Jr. had a hat trick for Guntersville, scoring 2 of the Wildcats’ 3 first-half goals in the victory; he also scored 58:47 into the game with an assist from Brandon Manganaris.
Guntersville combined for 14 shots to Boaz’s 7, with Shumate leading all players with 4.
Boaz got on the board with a second-half goal from Jonathan Garcia; he led the Pirates with 3 shots.
CLASS 1A-3A GIRLS
Lee-Scott Academy 3, Houston Academy 1
Class 1A-3A No. 7 Lee-Scott upset No. 2-ranked Houston Academy on Wednesday to advance to the state championship game.
Looking for the program’s first state title, the Warriors will face No. 6 Madison Academy, which upset top-ranked Donoho, in the championship game on Friday.
AJ Spillman posted a hat trick to score every goal for Lee-Scott, two coming in the second half; she led all players with 5 shots.
Anniston King and Merrill Huddleston both logged assists for Lee Scott.
Elsie Shirley had the lone goal for Houston Academy in the second half and had 3 shots; Brinley Harrell had 4 shots to lead the Raiders.
Madison Academy 5, Donoho 0
Class 1A-3A No. 6 Madison Academy knocked off top-ranked Donoho on Wednesday to advance to the state championship game.
With the upset victory, the Mustangs will face No. 7 Lee-Scott as it looks for the program’s first state title.
Regan Boyd finished with a hat trick in the victory for Madison Academy, knocking a game-high 8 shots and also adding an assist in the victory.
Emily Mouser, a Montevallo basketball signee, added a pair of goals in the win for the Mustangs and had 4 shots on goal; Eden Autry posted a shutout and had 3 saves at goalkeeper.
Donoho totaled 5 shots and 3 shots on goal, with Sam Wakefield logging a team-high 2 shots for the Falcons in the loss.
CLASS 1A-3A BOYS
Tuscaloosa Academy 5, Providence Christian 3
Class 1A-3A No. 6 Tuscaloosa Academy fended off No. 5 Providence Christian behind 4 goals from one of its top playmakers on Wednesday.
The Knights will face No. 2 Collinsville in the championship game on Friday.
Anton Schmidt unloaded for 4 goals in the Tuscaloosa Academy, 2 in the first half and 2 in the second. He had a game-high 8 shots on goal in the offensive showing.
Simon Mitrev added a goal of his own for Tuscaloosa Academy.
Elijah Joye, Craig Pittman and Reese Salter all scored for Providence Christian while William Nicholls had 3 shots on goal.
Collinsville 4, Susan Moore 1
Class 1A-3A No. 2 Collinsville picked up a big win against No. 3 Susan Moore behind 3 second-half goals on Wednesday in the state semifinals.
The Panthers will face No. 6 Tuscaloosa Academy in the state finals on Friday.
Jan Segura and Jefferson Acevedo added the first 2 goals for Collinsville before Aaron Herrera added a pair of goals in the second half.
Segura finished with 6 shots in the victory, while Herrera had 3 for Collinsville.
Susan Moore’s Franny Piceno had the lone goal for the Bulldogs in the first half of the matchup. Alexis Jaramillo had 3 shots, 1 on goal.
CLASS 4A GIRLS
St. Luke’s 7, Westminster-Oak Mountain 1
Class 4A No. 6 St. Luke’s rolled to a semifinal victory over No. 8 Westminster-Oak Mountain on Wednesday to advance to the state title game.
The Wildcats will face No. 1 St. John Paul II for the state title on Friday.
Kiley Hawarah led St. Luke’s with 4 goals in the dominant showing and got off 7 shots on goal in the win.
Lexie Romano had a pair of goals for St. Luke’s and Hannah Eblen added a goal of her own.
Westminster’s lone goal came 11:55 into the game on a shot from Helen Harbert assisted by Ava Morrison.
St. John Paul II 9, Cherokee County 0
Class 4A No. 1 St. John Paul II picked up a rout of Cherokee County on Wednesday to advance to the Class 4A state title game.
The Falcons will face No. 6 St. Luke’s on Friday in search of the program’s first soccer title.
St. John Paul II broke out to a dominant 6-0 lead at halftime backed by 3 first-half goals from Lauren Altman.
She was one of two players with a hat trick in the win, joining star senior Ella Cazzavillan; Alexandra Jodon, Jessi O’Brien and Brianna Dorsett also scored in the win.
Goalkeeper Catherine Fulda recorded a shutout in the win.
CLASS 4A BOYS
Westminster-Oak Mountain 1, St. Luke’s 0
Class 4A No. 1 Westminster-Oak Mountain held off No. 2 St. Luke’s in a heavyweight state semifinals matchup to advance to the Class 4A title game.
Westminster will face No. 5 Mars Hill Bible or No. 10 Oneonta in the state title game on Friday.
A goal 51:38 into the game from Aiden Gamble proved to be the equalizer, with the score assisted by Charlie Krulak for Westminster.
Krulak finished with 4 shots on goal for Westminster and goalkeeper Sam Carter preserved a shutout.
Mason Brown had a game-high 5 shots on goal for St. Luke’s.
Oneonta 2, Mars Hill Bible 1
Class 4A No. 10 Oneonta held off No. 5 Mars Hill Bible on Wednesday with a second-half goal to punch a ticket to the Class 4A state title game.
Oneonta wil face No. 1 Westminster-Oak Mountain for the state championship.
Aaron Espinoza and Julian Nunez both scored in the win, with Espinoza logging a team-high 4 shots on goal in the victory; Joshua Arreguin had 2 for Oneonta.
Jesse Parker had the lone goal for Mars Hill and Dylan Blackburn got off 3 shots on goal for the Panthers.
