NPA wins state volleyball tourney opener

The Northland Preparatory Academy girls volleyball team opened their postseason play on a positive note Thursday, sweeping 13th-seeded Tombstone (9-6) in three sets, 27-25, 25-7, 25-9.

The fourth-seeded Spartans (10-3) did not qualify for the Division IV playoffs last season.
