Pulaski Academy completed a wire-to-wire trip as the state’s top-ranked team in Class 4A by overwhelming Class 4A No. 2 Malvern 63-28 before a crowd of 5,976 Saturday afternoon at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.

Pulaski Academy (14-0) recorded the second highest point total in a final during the modern playoff era and likely would have established several high-water offensive marks if it hadn’t begun pulling starters - notably senior quarterback Fredi Knighten - late in the third quarter leading 56-14. 4CDixon, Strong win easily

Record-setting senior quarterback Kenneth Dixon ran 28 times for 348 yards and 5 touchdowns to lead Strong to a 45-20 victory over Carlisle in the Class 2A state championship game Saturday night at War Memorial Stadium in Little Rock.

Dixon became the state’s single-season rushing leader on a 35-yard run with 8:52 left in the game.

Dixon finished with 3,153 yards and 39 touchdowns on 315 carries. Derek Lawson of Nettleton set the previous record of 3,090 yards as a senior in 2006. 5C
