  2. Tax payer dollars are paid for certified teachers to "teach" and then coach. The primary job is to teach. There are some district that ay awesome supplements and others that don't. Dyersburg and Dyer County are pretty close if I remember correctly. I would imagine that Football and basketball are above $10,000 now. I've heard that Milan is $20,000 for boys basketball. I would imagine that football is more than that in Milan. Collierville has camps that coaches get paid extra for. 3 camps a year, 100 kids a camp, $30,000 right there. There are places like Memphis-Shelby County schools where the supplements are garbage even for the head coaches. I made less than $3,000 as the head assistant at Germantown in 2015 when we were 26-4 and one of the best teams in the Southeast. As a head middle school coach next year I will make between $4-5,000 at a municipal in Shelby County. Coaches should be compensated for the jobs that are required but lets keep in mind that they are educators first. It's pretty frustrating to other teachers that work their tale off teaching 6-7 classes a day to watch someone roam campus, not teach (or have very minimal responsibilities), and get paid the same (more with supplements) as a person who has the some years of experience or sometimes less.
  3. This will get coaches leaving the profession very quickly if this kid wins this case. This is absurd...
  4. Today
  5. yeah money aint right there anymore
  6. I suppose you are correct but from my understanding it was going to be a situation of the HC saying yay or nay to every play
  7. That is a shame.Romeo does know more than one circle.Secret or not.
  8. I am not sure.Fedora did end the mildcats season. But cute andy has 2 wins over the mild ones from the atomic city.
  9. Sorry to barge in on your conversation, but in what world does a head coach not have the final say in any part of the game plan? Is that not why they are called head coaches?
  10. Is he staying at SE? I saw he picked up some more offers from Ole Miss, Miss State, Syracuse,Arizona State, Colorado State, ECU, MTSU, and WKU.
  11. If people knew the guys he beat that year haha.....he had an incredible year James Green Dustin Schalter Moza Fay Hunter Steiber Logan Massa Adam Hall Jordan Burroughs
  12. Staying close to home and signing with Sewanee
  13. Great Synopsis. I think Simpson won the Pan Ams. It appears he was balancing military duties while wrestling internationally. Bill Harlow was a 3x national champ / world team member placing 2nd in the 1970 world championships. Clearly Marabale and Harlow are our most decorated Tennessens on the international scene.
  14. I was just saying that before I did not know of them having a OL featuring 3 D1 talented players
  15. I would think These are the exceptions not the norm. AND, should be the norm not the exception.
  16. Gotcha thanks for the info. That's a big move
  17. Yep..could possibly have 3 teams ranked in top ten in the same four team district.
  18. He had an opportunity to be the OC at TC without final say in the offensive gameplan. How does that work? Smh. Head Coaches are public figures regardless of the community size, and yes there are some out there, it’s irrelevant and not fair to them to name them on here. Also why is said “head coach” the head coach of the MS baseball program to begin with? Oh because no one wants it. As for the Lebanon question, I know what I’ve been told so just going off here say, some of the boosters were not happy with his roster decisions and wanted him out. Although he lead them to 20+ wins in multiple seasons
  19. A head coach in the school system? No I dont think so. Head coaches are public figures in small communities. Not trying to slander, but this is an actual question. Do you know why he was forced to resign at Lebanon? This was his second chance. He already left trousdale once and had an opportunity to come back a couple of years ago but spoiled that.
  20. Are you perfect? Nope no one is, at the end of the day there are several teachers/coaches and even some in the Trousdale County school system that have DUI’s on their record. You’re correct on it being a bad mistake and it unfortunately could have ended horribly. While you consider the consequences minimal, I can assure you they are not. Ultimately I hope and have faith that he will learn from it and use it to better himself.
  21. Cal Grubbs in 2022 and Blake Heckman 23 both went to Liberty.
  22. Boyd, Chambers, and Smith are all capable.
  23. Yesterday
  24. May have already been mentioned. Apologies if this is the case. There seems to be a change of plans. The kid is definitely not playing for Betsy next year.
  25. I didn't know this was ancestry .com. On behalf of all the viewers on this thread i would like to be the one to say thanks for sharing your family tree. I'm so glad that you keep referring to this as a mistake. Your right, it was a mistake. A mistake that could have ended the life one of the players. A mistake that could have ended the life of one of the players parents. A mistake that could have ended the life of one of your relatives. Luckily for everyone the consequences of those terrible actions were minimal. Im sure the 30+ parents at the board meeting that you mentioned on this post didn't think about it that way either including some board members.
