  1. Foul calls are missed and gotten wrong all the time. That was an official who made a bad call. If every coach touched an official when a bad call was made, it would be a full on melee. The first wrong didn’t give McWilliams a right to step outside of the rules. It is universally accepted that you don’t make contact with officials and she made contact with two officials.

  3. I have no horse in this race so I have a complete unbiased opinion. The foul called on the three was a bad call. What's lost in this is the foul down low before the three. I believe it was #24 for Macon who was clearly fouled on the shot and it wasn't called. Correct me if I am wrong but #24 was like 12-12 in free throws? If that foul had been called then she most likely makes the free throws and Macon probably wins. As far as what the coach did, it should have been a technical foul. Plain and simple. Not only leaving the coaching box by coming to half court but also by putting your hands on the ref. I thought the refs struggled the entire game. Upperman' s best player should have had several fouls called on her, two charges for sure. Both teams played great, the refs looked like little league refs. Regardless, Upperman won the game. Congrats on back to back titles.

  4. Just a little history.... just last year UHS kids took to Twitter and posted a picture of a Tornado and told Macon they would wipe out/destroy them like that tornado did on ‘08. 14 lives lost & a town destroyed ... but yes UHS joke about it. Yes, Adults should know better... just last week you had a man come down the step cussing LA student section across the gym. So, you arguing about bad behavior from any team falls in def ears because UHS leads everyone in this category.

  8. UHS won the game and they have the gold ball. The call of the foul (at the end of regulation) was a bad call in my opinion. There were MANY bads calls and no calls in this game. None of them merited a coach leaving the box, traveling to center court and grabbing a referee without that coach being penalized. Defending her actions is a lot like hitting a cop because you were given ticket for something you didn't do!

  9. I just watched the replay and I don’t believe that Levy made any contact. I believe the referee made the call based on how Levy reacted to the shot anticipating that contact was made and it ended up not being made. However, a coach CANNOT touch an official.

  10. I'm not sure what your agenda is here. UHS went 37-0 I do not think anything was handed too them. I know the officiating in the championship was terrible. Just having trouble why your even on this discussion. If you have this much of an issue with was has happened trot your happy behind down to UHS high school or Putman county school central office and file a complaint. Go to TSSAA and file a complaint. Absolutely nothing you say on this discussion means anything the comment above has cemented that.

  11. Wow...how can you even say that? Upperman beat us like a drum all year...the kids can play. Even on the losing end three times .... I can still say they didn’t have anything handed to them. They always play hard... no way you go undefeated like that and just get stuff handed to you. If you want anyone to even consider anything you say as intelligent... you have to call it like it is & not act like a scorned fan or ball team. I hate this Championship had controversy..., but you have to give credit where it’s due. Macon played a heck of a game but UHS did too and pulled it out in the end.

  12. You don't congratulate people for something they didn't earn. That was handed to them.

  13. You can pick apart the entire game if you watch it on television and can slow it down. 24 for Macon walked and lowered her shoulder a lot in the paint. There were many missed blown or non calls on both teams. As far as the ending to regulation goes not sure any of you are qualified to comment on that. To possibly have the state tournament championship taken for you on a phantom call as far as she was concerned. Unless you have been in that situation I really don't care what you think. Simply just your opinion and every one has one. Macon will be the team to beat the next year or two 24 is a special player and 10 is right behind her. If I heard correctly last night on television they said UT Martin has offered 10 and UT has talked to her. It was Awesome in my opinion to have two 8AA teams in the championship game. The student section comment earlier to me is completely absurd. Having been to all of the 8AA gyms the last two seasons they all are just as bad with the exception of MCM. I have some video with audio at Macon two seasons ago that will curl your hair with some of their language. I expect the student section to be rowdy but cussing and spitting is not expectable and should be dealt with.

  14. I agree that it looked like a clean block. The difference in refs was as far as east is to west in what they allowed in the state tournament . Saw Bradley Coach get a tech for a hand signal 60 feet from any ref, no warning, no talking . Also got a box warning for having one foot out of box. In the AA championship I saw with my own eyes coaches yelling all game at officials , coach ran out 40 feet onto the floor more then once and even grabbed two different officials !!! Maybe these refs did the right thing and the Houston / Bradley refs handled it wrong. Two totally different styles of reffing . Would like to see more of a effort by Tssaa to get referees on the same page!

  16. From what I saw on the replay her hand did hit all ball. However her arms followed through and hit the shooters arms. Caught her pretty good.

  17. Macon just showed what team their gonna be in the next two years. They deserved the game tonight. Played their hearts out. Don’t be surprised if you see MC back in the ship next year. But congrats to Upperman

  20. It was a bad call, Levy blocked it clean.... But the Upperman faithful fail to acknowledge Macon was on the receiving end of multiple bad calls that affected that game in regulation. But, somehow Larry wasn't at half court putting his hands on officials.

  21. Please explain how your coach thinks it's ok to physically put her hands on a referee multiple times?? She deserved a technical.

  22. First of all, CONGRATS to the Lady Bees for their 2018 Championship! Their hardwork this season has officially been rewarded! Also big congrats to Macon for their run and finish, Cumberland is SO proud of both teams! But, how can Upperman’s coach think it was ok to grab the referee, and jump in their face 3 maybe 4 times and not get a technical? I think that was the turning point in what could have possibly been Macon’s potential win. I am not taking anything away from Upperman, but I think a technical should have been given. Just a person opinion.

  26. Hey Mac, i was under the impression that YOU DO NOT HAVE TO PLAY if you dont want to. LOLOL, no one is forcing the kids to play. Its a choice, why dont ASA or any other softball sanctioning body care about girls arms. You can go pitch 12 games a weekend in fastpitch and no one governs the pitch count. So be careful what you ask for cause if you want some rules then all sports need them. You can truly play girls softball from February to December, so dont bring up AAU. Its a choice.
