  1. Making America GREAT again!BUILD that wall Mr President.

  2. Oakland hosts Cane Ridge today at 5:30. I'll be there and hope to get interviews with both Coaches. I'll post video to my YouTube channel tonight. You can go there now and click the subscribe button and you'll get a notification when I post. May even go live today if possible. This could potentially be a State Championship preview (however many teams including Maryville, Whitehaven and Blackman may have a say in that.) Here's the link to our Channel: Friday Main Event YouTube Channel

  3. I didn't see that part. Always hard to get good video on field level bc you can't see the play unfold, that's why I prefer my perch. I was wondering if Creasy was gonna stick with 2 QB system I guess we got our answer

  4. I've got one video up on my YouTube channel, 87. More coming

  5. I counted 31 too. I could tell you were missing some of the bigs. Coach Turner said the bus broke down when it got to the high school so they had to wait on another one. That's why they didn't get there till like 15 min before it started.

  6. The same Signal team we shut out last year? GB beat GP 4-1 tonight. I say Whitwell will be fine. Looks like SC is the clear favorite to win the region now.

  7. Looks like Alcoa was done with Damon Floyd also. 49-7

  8. It looks like Maryville and Alcoa are literally in a league of their own in ET- no one else appears to be even remotely close. Won’t be much suspense this year for the Rebels and Tornadoes except maybe when they play each other.

  9. Plus .. it's hot .. Gremnevull been in the shade .. last 30 mins .. Sun still bearing down on Fulton .. been a good scrimmage

  10. It should be a great year . Maybe we should chant that the West is down year just to fit in !

  11. I won't be attending the scrimmage this evening. I'm still in Texas looking for Roy. No sign of him anywhere. No sign of anybody, really. It must be true. Everyone is locked up. Everyone except for this one lone crazy guy.

  12. If this holds true, it will be a very exciting quarter and semi final!! I think about what happened last November and how MC dominated TC (when TC was favored)...and how one player affected the outcome of the Meigs/Rockwood game. You never know what "intangibles" will do to an outcome!

  14. The last thing UTC needs is another Chattanooga home boy. Prime example here. No one wants to say the obvious about Eslingers performance because they are worried about the potential backlash and blacklisting for their own kids and programs. Did anyone ever figure out how many scholarships they have?

  15. Those are the only teams in the east that have any chance at going to Cookeville.

  16. Yes, that’s the three I was thinking.

  17. Raulston from South Pittsburg was the best back Greenback played against last year. The kid is a good back don't get me wrong but the kid from South Pittsburg is a horse!

  18. Always enjoy this game. There is so much history between the 2 teams. I hope I like the new venue. The old field I thought was really cool and old school with the tightness of the field and kicking the ball into the neighborhood on the one side. The people of Springfield have always been good fans and active in their support win or lose. I will say again that Dustin Wilson was a great fit and really helped the program.

  19. Yeah was just poking fun. Just because I don't talk my team up doesn't mean they aren't gonna be a threat. But I'd prefer you all prepare like they are 55th /wink. In reality I can assure you Meigs will be a great team this year. Offensively i already think they are a little better, and that says alot considering they were great last year. Defensively we were also very good last year. I'm not sold defensively yet this year. We may be like the Waverly of 17 where our offense is overpowering to most teams but defensively just cant hang when it matters. That's not an attack Waverly folks just an assessment that I took from this board. But its early. our qb and rb are as good as they come and our offensive line is really good this year from what scrimmages have showed me.

  20. Fulton moved to 5A last year, after Alcoa announced they where moving to 4A to have closer teams in district. After the AD announcement this on WBIR...all the 4A teams in that district moved up to 5A except Union Co. to avoid Alcoa. FULTON was the first to bolt.ha! Maryville 1684 students. Alcoa 641 students. Yup. I know who is turning 15 cents into a dollar!

  21. Football (as I was taught growing up) has already gone away. It’s now glorified flag football. Very few teams run downhill. The “spread” has trickled down to the youth leagues. How many really big hits do we see during murvils 15 game season? Less than 5? It’s a fact of life. Most don’t take unnecessary chances with their kids. I hate it. I miss Butkus. I miss LT, Lambert, and Lewis. It’s now about not touching the qb or receiver. Might as well put the flags on.

  22. We're not going back to the stone ages when you went to school, but it validates my point that the whole time that Maryville has been in 6A when they could have been in 5A. Heck, even Fulton decided to move up! But oooohhh no, good ole Gary wants his records so his Rankin 'Rithematic equals 3A all the way.
    1 point
  23. Our record against Alcoa is 63-23-3, how does that add up? I'll go out on a limb and add +2 to that win total for the Red Rebels over the next 2 years. That's almost a 3 to 1 ratio. Now I know since you're from Rockford that ratios and big numbers might cause your brain to rattle a bit, but I'll also point out that when Farragut competed in 5A two seasons ago their student enrollment was higher than Maryville's. Hopefully that makes some sense, but unfortunately your Rankin 'Rithematic would have you believing you could get a $1 out of 15 cents.

  26. Once a Rebel always a Rebel. Kinda funny though you have ThrowDaSlant as your screen name when Rankin rarely does that.

  27. If your beating up on the defending 5A Champs like that then why in the world are you all playing 3A teams that don't bring 25 fans to watch a game and lose money. There is no doubt in my mind Alcoa can win it all in 4A or even 5A most of the time. Enrollment is not a fair measuring stick when a school has big time money behind it.

  28. Let’s see. They fired his dad who used to coach there so you have that going against you to start. They probably pay him more at Pittsburgh as an assistant than UTC would pay as a head coach.

  32. We from the East have already conceded defeat. The West apparently has the top 50 best teams in 2A. the East will settle with the remaining post 50 rankings end of season. Whoever makes it from the East this year will already knowingly be ranked 51 end of season. Thanks for letting our kids be on the field with you at least once and take it easy on us after kickoff may as well put in JV to at least make it interesting. Its obvious we should seek the council of Bill Cosby so we can forget what happens to us during the game, you know all the shame, heartbreak, crying that a good whoopin ensues. We have already started forgoing practice and started practicing consoling each other. It's the only way to move forward at this point with the ability to see the future. I hope at the very least my Meigs County Tigers can be at least 55th. Thank you gentleman for your time. Good day. For the record, this is a joke...

  33. This is not limited to football. but just work in general. I don't believe a kid has to play a sport to be successful in life, but I believe it helps. We are seeing our culture slip ever deeper into entitlement and poor work ethic. When is the last time you went to a fast food chain and thought "wow what a polite well mannered /professional attitude that person has" We now want 20 dollars an hour to stand around pick our nose and text message our friends about how lame our job is. These are most likely the parent in the stand or at the end of the field talking aboout how stupid the coach is for not playing their son. The one who shows up late to practice, jacks around on the sidelines and when given an opportunity doesn't know his assignment, because he never paid attention, but somehow it is the coaches fault. ... ok ok ok I am of the soapbox.. sorry

  34. I think if he applied they'd be stupid not to hire him. He brings notability, credentials, recruiting capabilities as well as being the hometown boy. I think he's the perfect candidate for the job personally.

  35. What do you guys think about trying to bring back hometown Chattanooga native and current assistant at Pittsburgh.....Jordan Leen?

  36. I have never had anyone that would really know definitely say yes they have 9.9 scholarships for wrestling. Everyone always says that's what they have been told. Again I find it hard to believe that someone with direct knowledge has not stepped up and said yes they have 9.9 or no they do not have 9.9. If they don't have 9.9 scholarships available what is the number?
