I agree with everything Raiseemrightandpray said. I didn't go to the game, conflict and son graduated, but from what I saw and heard from radio and Diamond Clear media, the Alcoa team and fans again lived up to my expectations. They were extremely gracious last year at our place and staff and players were first class. They didn't disappoint again this year. I helped with field setup for years and ran with the sticks crew. Alcoa's team from the top down was respectable and good sports. Its easy to get the big head when you win as much as they do, but they have a poise about them that says, "been there, done that, no biggie". I like it. Rankin could've really made a statement for upcoming teams with a continued onslaught, but chose to pull back on the reins. Very classy and smart on his part. I wish Alcoa continued success as the season continues and hope they get some more hardware from Cookeville in December.

Think we have found GoldenBear...these are the things he kept saying a year ago. spring practices when the entire team is not even solidified yet..we have moved on from preseason.

I hope we keep playing because it helps us both I think. I don't see Coach Bowling running from anything like Mayfield. He is having a hard time filling the schedule as it is. So as long as we can I think we will be playing the Cardinals.

Sounds Like When Elizabethton dropped Greeneville in 2007 after play every year dating back to 1953 and left Greeneville scrambling to find a game in 5a Mercy County, KY (State Champs the previous year.)

Yes sir. That may be a reason as to why the crowd seems more subdued nowadays. Since they moved those bathrooms the pheromones under the bleachers have diminished over time. I miss the old days where this was a region game as well. People think 7-2A is tough today. It used to be Milan, Trenton, Scumboldt, Huntingdung, USJ, Westview, JCS and Drestank. At the time, Westview and Humboldt were really good as was USJ. JCS and Dresden were both improving. The region was brutal nit was the black and blue region.

Do you mean the same school that has 2400 students to choose from. Cookeville was still picked top 50% fo 6a . UHS is the real deal. If you are using the reasoning for CHS losing then your same philosophy would have to work the other way. UHS is returning i believe 10 on offense and 10 on defense. Most have been playing since sophomore year. Can't have it both ways. UHS, York, Sequatchie/Smith

A benefit should also be held to provide Houston County High School the appropiate funding to hire a full time athletic trainer. Luckily, Joe Byrnes had an athletic trainer present when they scrimmaged Houston County. This athletic trainer acted quickly and probably saved this young mans life. EVERY High school in Tennessee should have an athletic trainer!

DB has a good football team. Throwout that 43-3 loss at the hands of Greeneville. You have to understand just how good this years Greeneville team is, just watch the highlight footage on p62 of the Greeneville @ DB thread.. They are going to abuse everybody they play, not just DB. OR better come prepared for a dogfight.

Not at all. I just love watching the game. It is to me, the purest, most closely related sport to create life lessons that carry on to real life. In the future, hold nothing back with me, just a guy who loves life.

I was just pointing out that for me, I am just glad my son is learning life lessons through the game. If you know me at all, you know things really don't bother me at all. Your opinion is just fine. I'd tend to agree if this is a close game or DB wins .However,you never know the whole story until the season is complete.I hope Greeneville can win another title this year but no team is guaranteed that at this point and time.So many factors can derail a season .

Rhea will win this game. Brainerd is a very young team with majority sophomores. The coach is in his 2nd year and is trying to change the culture of football. They are top heavy at the skill positions. Very fast/quick team but lacking in experience. If the game is close at the end proceed with caution and by no means overlook this team. They are hungry for a "big" win!!
