Region 7AA is one of the best in the best in the state and District 13AA is really tough. I look at this move as a lateral move for Coach Wilkins. Obion is not contending with Westview, Crockett, Southside, Lexington, Dyersburg, and Chester.
a lateral move because he is stepping down in class but he is in a better situation as far as winning. Only a few teams to deal with in his new region
Ole3putt you deserved everything you got you hoser!
And coacht I was at the cowboys raiders game sitting at the 50 yard line behind the cowboys bench wearing a coacht shirt that Witten signed!
The Milan vs Huntingdung game you have listed will be a good one. The Milan vs Peabody game week 1 will be a good one as well. All 3 are contenders to go to Cookeville.
Glad to hear that! Congratulations.
Now as to the kids being slow and the coach no good, I am calling BS on that. I do not know who y'all are trying to sand bag, but OR is NEVER slow and they learned their lesson about Coach's with the looser that is now here in Rutherford County at LaVergne!
I’d say he turned out better than BA. More state championships than anyone. More wins than anyone. Those D2 privates, the headmasters, and all of the backers in the world cannot change that fact.
You’re clearly just salty because he left Riverdale for a better situation at Alcoa. I guarantee you if Gary Rankin were the coach at Riverdale from 2006-2009 that they would have won another state championship or two (minimum).
Now you get to be like the rest of us and live out your days on CoachT watching Rankin pile up wins and championships. Riverdale was a lot better off in the 90s through 2005 with Gary Rankin in charge of the football program than they’ve been since he went to Blount County.
Most certainly not. Looking to have a few more tournaments. Great tournament today. Huge thank to our head official from Atlanta GA, as well as our 8 UTC wrestlers who allowed us to run 3 man mechanics. We also had a few HS athletes that helped ref and were given money towards any potential national team trips they wish to go on.
Huge thank to AAU, who covered ALL fees of our head ref. Great day.
By the looks of it, Cleveland just hosted a tournament with 115 kids. It was said to run very smooth. No other tournament across the state, yet some of the local schools chose not to participate, any insight as to why Pride chose not to send their kids?
What tournaments are going on next Saturday?
Absolutely right! Mr. Football runner and Rankin insisted on throw, throw, throw that night when all year it had been run, run, run! Thing is Gaston had been making some good gains on the ground. Now you know why even his assistants say he THREW the game. Y'all had a passing game, while we were one or two tops passing every game. Thomas was lucky if he could hit himself in the butt with both hands. On his long pass attempts it was heave and pray one of our receivers ran under it.
Great coaching, and a great strength program (the number one in my opinion) on top of a football team that is fully invested in the process will make for another successful season in 2019. Also having the top prospect in the state might help a little.
Life hasn't been the same in Seymour since Gary Householder stepped down as head coach and Winnie Won Sue opened up the Rub & Tug Asian Heath Spa across the street from the softball fields on Chapman Highway.
From what I have been told, there were just too many off the field administrative type duties that caught Scott by surprise. It was a time thing with him according to the people I trust.
It's also been communicated to me that Seymour is a different community than it used to be. It used to have much more of a "small town" kind of feel, and again from what I am told it has pretty much become a Knoxville suburb.
I'm not gonna act like i know everything that went on, but Rankin went out of his way to stump for Thomas McDaniel when Oakland became open, and changed the trajectory of that program. In a way he's responsible for 2 powerhouses in RuCo. That is the not the act of someone who's a bad person.
Rankin is really good at what he does and HS coaches don't get paid nearly enough, so I absolutely understand constantly pushing for pay raises. He left Riverdale in excellent shape, they had a team that should have won at least another title (maybe 2). But being so eager to move on from that era, Riverdale sowed the seeds of their own demise and the rise of Oakland over the last decade
Maybe he left because probably the greatest coach in TN HS Football History wasn't appreciated in the Boro, and is now in a place where winning is more appreciated? 2-4 aren't even reasons btw, you're just mud slinging. People are already accusing Creasy of recruiting when he doesn't need to. Kids want to be a champion. They used to want to go to Riverdale. Now Riverdale is full of sour grapes and excuses it looks like. So they'll go to Oakland.
