Quarantine the kid/kids that test positive and let them play. Covid is less severe that the flu in school age children (From multiple sources). We all have the same risk of catching it at the gas station, grocery store,restaurants etc. What are we supposed to do hide in our houses scared to death until the "Media" tells us its ok to come out

Been done with NFL about 4 years now. I've gone 100% Into supporting my local high school, Jv, middle school and wish I had years ago. Its way more rewarding ..tired of millionaires telling me how oppressed they are and how racist and white privileged I am. My white privilege gets me up at 4am and if I'm lucky enough and it hasn't rained I get to mow grass to help make ends meet.

I suggest the TSSAA change their policy regarding COVID come playoff time. They decided to play football this fall rather than postponing it till spring, and now they are seeing teams drop like flies. If they want ANY sort of money from the playoffs and championship game, then the only choice would be to lift the mandatory COVID restrictions. I know some is left up to the school system, but cmon, we all know most school systems are following the TSSAA’s recommendations. Actually they need to lift them before week 9. If an undefeated team gets it week 9 they will lose the first round game via COVID and be out. Thoughts everyone?

By late spring, the Jasperites will be talking about consolidation again. My consolidation plan consists of closing Jasper and sending all the kids in the north half of the county to Whitwell, and the southern half to South Pittsburg. Problem solved.

Totally agree. I think people with bad health this is bad, but for most it's like a small bug and then goes away. If a player plays with a stomach virus, alot will get it and alot want. This cancellation stuff is stupid. They might as well shut down like they tried to shut down our country. BTW, I worked everyday and went to Florida for vacation with my family around 1000's of people when they said it was such a HOT Zone!! Yea Right!!!! I know I would be okay with my son playing if he were still in school. But, I'm like you, Lift IT!!!

Someone on social media had a good point. If they drop the rivalry then some of them think they will get consolidation approved. Since they believe the rivalry is the ONLY reason SO doesn’t want to consolidate. But they are wrong. There are so many other reasons to not consolidate. I don’t know Jasper’s reasoning but from the outside looking in it appears they are chickens. Get COVID the day of...cancel meeting to reschedule...claim not enough practice time. Well I’ll say this Jasper, you could practice all year and still not beat us. If you are scared say it. All we’ve heard is how much of a better team y’all have this year and that “some” of you believe you could actually make it a game. So why are you backing out now? Ridiculous! Schedule North Jackson and be done with Jasper!

Gonna be a good one. I just lean towards Beech with their experience and home field advantage. They have been in so many big games and Tullahoma has not, especially recently. They have a big offensive line as well and a great, dynamic running back. I just can’t see Tullahoma going in there and winning. If they do, they are state championship caliber to be sure in 4A. It seems like Beech should pull away in the second half.

If SP needs to fill holes - an SP vs. MTCS would suit us, I think. We just wrapped up a 2 year deal with 2 4A schools, SP's a shorter drive than Howard. Good gates, and more orange and black than you could imagine!

Update: A meeting scheduled this morning between SP’s coach and principal along with Jasper coach and principal at Dr Mark Griffith’s office has been canceled. Jasper has not agreed to this offer: Play on Saturday which would give jasper the same number of days to prepare as normal. Usually teams practice Monday-Wednesday and then have a walk-thru on Thursday. Pirate’s coach said he’d move it to Saturday so that would give them the full 3 days plus have Saturday morning for their walk through. Instead Jasper is literally trying to find a game against anybody other than SP that week and the coaches at other schools are laughing at them.....because it’s obvious to those coaches they have contacted, that they are too scared to play SP. Right now it appears the game won’t happen. Based on their coach’s actions I would say the rivalry is likely dead. We should NOT go up there next year and let them collect a huge gate. The only way we should play them again would be if they agreed to a two year deal where they come here both years. IF not.....We should schedule NJ and start that rivalry. Sad. The series ends this way but I would never play them again so long as Pruitt is there.

Great win by Marvyille. Defense kept them close until the offense came around. As far as coaches would not trade any of ours for anyone. So proud and blessed to have the coaching staff we have. The last two years we have come out and pitched a shutout in the second half while scoring twice. Looks like the halftime adustments advantage is clear there. I don't blame Rankin for going for it, although I might of just done it and not tried to draw them offsides and then call a timeout. I think Maryville is in his head a bit but that is understandable. What is he like 3-12 all time? They were probably all excited after Coach Quarles left, man that has to be a disappointment.

Man proclaimed he was gonna bring the country together and he alone could solve most of mankind's problems. Most divided this Country has been since the Civil war and we are in the biggest mess we've been in in a long time. Seems to me he's on a mission to destroy this Country. Now as far as it being his Idea , I highly doubt it , he's just doing the bidding of the real powers of the world. Good at it though. No way Sleepy Joe could keep up. Not much love lost between these 2 teams as the long-time rivalry became an in-region rivalry once again last year. Both teams boasting 4-0 records with stingy defenses (allowing <10 ppg) and prolific offenses (40 and 48 ppg). JCS has all their receiving weapons back as seniors this year, but the new QB has been at least as productive with his legs as he has with his arm in a much more balanced attack. USJ offense made good use of the field position provided by the defense in the first 3 games, but this past Friday night opened things up against TRA. The Bruins may be a little more battle tested by facing slightly better opponents overall. The one common opponent was TRA and both teams dominated the Rebels equally. JCS has good size on the line, but the physicality of the USJ big uglies will be the biggest challenge they have seen to date. With #27 kicking the ball and #1 returning the ball, USJ has the advantage on special teams as they likely will in every game they play this year. This was a one-sided high scoring affair last year but I expect it to be much tighter this year. Bruins should come away with win for homecoming but this one will be a game into the 4th quarter.

Derek is an outstanding coach and a fine young man. When he coaches a little longer, he is a virtually certain bet to pass GQ on the national winning percentage list. Let this sink in- MHS will soon have the two greatest coaches in high school football history in terms of winning percentage.

From the little ive seen and read about West...they seem to still be working some things out due to lack of spring practice, scrimmages, etc but are still crushing teams on their schedule. If the qb cuts down on the int's and continues to get the timing down with these stud wrs than they have the potential to have a special season. Mattress has been doing his thing but its this backup Barfield I hear that can be very special as well. I haven't even heard Hundleys name yet and if he gets going watch out. The defense lost some key starters from last season but seem to still be solid year in and year out with the guys they have in this year. Two shutouts is awesome regardless of who ur playing. If West wins this week against Oak Ridge and beats Powell then they have a great chance to go undefeated in the regular season for the first time in school history...there's no one else on that schedule that can compete with West if they are rolling and not hurting themselves with stupid penalties and turnovers. Just an opinion from an alum.

West has more passing TDS than rushing TDS - and that’s with running clocks In 2 of their 3 games killing time in the second half. Not sure we have had a single back go for more than 100 yards in any game this year. You sure you want to put everyone on an island and go there?

I’ll back you on that one Knox - at no time did you predict a Jeff co win. You are always the biggest fan of whoever has West this week (King of the West trolls) and have been for 10 plus years. So this week I need your prediction for the OR/West game this Thursday night. If I were you - I’d take OR 49 West 7 (maybe 10). I would also throw out there that OR will have a running clock on West by halftime - but only if x,y,z occurs so that you have an out. I’ll hang up and listen for your reply.
