When they closed Pearl and Cohn and combined them they could have named the school after someone that 99% of the kids had never heard of, but instead they paid homage to the alumni of the two schools and named it Pearl-Cohn. New School should be either Hillvue or Bellwood, period.

Congratulations to the Haywood Tomcats. Y’all are the better team. I hope that you can win the Gold Ball in 4A. I’m proud that my Chargers never quit and fought back even though it was a foregone conclusion that we were gonna lose. This game should help ready the Covington squad for the playoffs. I’m glad that we played this game, except for the injury to All State player AC Mason-Young. I heard he was icing his knee. I hope this won’t sideline him for the playoffs. And, he’s a potential D-1 college player, so any severe injury his senior year could sidetrack that.

I don't know that last drive before the ball went over the punters head looked pretty conservative to me. That could have easily been 6 the other way. If they had went for it on fourth down and not made it Oak Ridge would actually had worse field position. Also if the Oak Ridge receiver hadn't dropped that wide open pass with less than a minute left that most likely would have been 6. Then there was the TD in the first quarter that got called back because a block in the back by a player 20 yards behind the ball carrier. It's week 9 and we're making mistakes you wouldn't see in the pee wee leagues. There was some high spots in the game but dang. I thought both teams played like it was the first game of the season.

I think you guys need to understand that MASE is not the average Memphis team. Yes they have mental brain farts ; but so does every team they plays football. But to say they are undisciplined is a slap in the face to the coaching staff that prides they self on discipline and fundamentals. Big games are not a new thing to these guys they are battled tested from past years. The OL has been together for 4 years so they are solid. The defense returns 6 starters from last year’s defense that is very solid Vs the run! They are a well rounded team overall just from watching them play the last 3 yrs.

EYE IN THE SKY DONT LIE LAKE COUNTY GAVE UP 20 points and was in a dog fight in the first half to a team that got thoroughly dominated by the freshmen and jv team in the second half.

No sir MASE was one the first charter school to open in TN in 2003. They have only been playing since 2016 I think !

South Gibson will be a really tough out as well as South Side. Word on the street is South Gibson’s girls are really hungry and working a ton on their own. Wouldn’t suprise me if they really make a splash similar to what Tennessee Football has done. They are going to get some revenge this year.

I completely agree. Region 4A almost became a disaster as Gordonsville was very close to moving up (and could in the next classification if everything keeps growing in that part of Smith County). That would have left Clay County, Jo Byrns, and RBS as the only three teams in the region. The next closest teams to add would be Harriman from the East, Whitwell/Sale Creek/South Pitt from South, or possibly a team like Moore County/Cornersville, which would move another team out a region with more natural opponents. The other option would have been to absolve Jo Byrns into a region further west, Clay County/RBS into existing Region 2 or Region 3, and then split another region somewhere into two separate ones. This situation is a good argument for five classes, as Jackson County, Gordonsville, and Trousdale County would all safely be 1A and then you could have a legitimate 6-7 team region.
