You know how AP polls are. They really mean nothing. GB is a good football team that can win at a high level each and every night. I would never look past them by any means.

I like the way the playoffs are set up the way we have them. Top 4 in each region. The games that matter most are the ones the TSSAA says you HAVE to play. It also makes for better out of region matchups. Games you might never or hardly ever see can be scheduled. Maryville played Oakland. Huntingdon had Waverly and Milan. SP played 3 DII schools ( can't help that their records turned out badly ) Jasper played Rhea County and Coalfield. Whitwell had Trousdale and Signal. Point is, you can schedule anyone you want to now. No excuses. Take care of business inside your own region and you are in.

Refreshing to see such an honest post. We have to remember it's about the KIDS. We've got parents on here getting all in a tizzy over it! Let's relax. Another great Tennessee Friday night is almost upon us! Can't wait to see how it all shakes out for these kids! They've put a lot of work into this! Cheer for your teams, but remember, the most important thing is, having FUN and building CHARACTER!

I agree and disagree with your points. Win or lose, the kids deserve the same support as those before them. They working year around for 1 goal, and the fan base needs to be there to cheer them on no matter the results. TC fans have been spoiled over the years with huge success. Believe me, ive been there, when the team comes up short, the kids feel awful. As for starting with Creasy....Kevin is still loved by this town. Just make your way over to the 'boro on a Friday night and i bet you spot several Hartsville folks watching the Patriots. Some long time Jackets jumped ship completely when he left and followed him to Oakland. Creasy did things the right way in TC. He knew how to coach and he knew how to please the town with his community involvement. Now those last 2 comments aren't a jab at Waggoner as from what I've seen, he too is trying to do things the right way. He's biggest problem to over come is being an outsider and he is more shy than Creasy. Creasy, although he was an outsider at one point came in and learned from Satterfield before taking the reigns. And if you know Creasy, he will talk to anyone and make you feel like hes known you his entire life. If Waggoner can keep up the direction he has the team going, he will be just fine. He is a very approachable man and has a good attitude about life in general. First year he wins the Region and gets home playoff games with a bunch of underclassmen, I'd say that's a good start!

Two things: 1. If you are using Dooley as a baseline for comparison, then a ham sandwich would be a better football coach than he was. 2. Recruiting Tennessee? Take a look at where the better players from this state are ending up, and especially the better players from Middle Tennessee. Hint: It isn't going to be in Knoxville. Hint #2: See Master Teague, Tee Higgins, Amari Rogers, Cade Mays - just to name a few. He has recruited some high profile players, but he has failed to see them develop, and the rate of attrition of players has signed is twice the average of the power 5 schools. He can get them in, but they don't get to their potential, or they leave. That's a huge red flag right there. Butch is a fraud. He followed Brian Kelly at Central Michigan after Kelly had rebuilt that program. He followed Mark Dantonio and Brian Kelly at Cincinnati after they had built that program. He is in his 5th year at UT and the program is imploding. There is no reasonable measurable that can say that Butch is a good football coach.

They almost beat Campbell county but that is not saying much. AC should have scored 70+ points on Clinton if not for refs calling 3 TD's back....lol.

I am not sure about the stats. I think Mcdaniel thats on the BDP Network keeps up with alot of them. There use to be something on the White House website but its not there anymore. The best team I remember at White House was my freshman year which lost in the Semifinals the year after the state championship win. We had Lanius our QB get hurt in the playoffs and thats what killed us but I believe that team was better than the state championship team. This is just my opinion of course but we were stacked that year! I could go on and on down the list of great players during that time. The late 90s and early 2000s were great years for White House football. I loved every minute of my time there and wouldn't change a thing. A lot of my friends mess with me for still keeping up with WH because it was so long ago but I absolutely love what the school and community gave to me and will never forget that. I have followed the teams over the years and we have had some very good teams. I was there the night the kids lost to Knox Catholic. We were clearly the better team but it just didn't work out that night. I was on the phone listening to the 04 team play Melrose. On the goal line basically trying to tie the game. It is phenomenal to be part of White House history and I am looking forward to watching these kids make history this year. The bracket sets up very well for them. If they go out and execute each week they could be in the state championship game which is nuts

I love hard nosed football and thats what both these teams are. They fight, fight, fight until they cant fight no more. Watched West play a defensive slug fest against Harding Academy at the beginning of the year. Cant wait to see how this one turns out.

It's not a statement if all of the teams aren't good. I'm not gonna diminish the fact that you score a lot of points, and I'm gonna say your QB is better than Greeneville's. Let's stop pretending mercy ruling the Chattanooga teams in Hamilton County and Sequoyah is anything close to making a statement. Only one of them even had anything that resembles a pulse this year and that's Chattanooga Central. With that being said, I hope you and Greeneville meet because that's one I'll drive upper east to see, and I hope it's a good game, but I just don't see it being. Beat Betsy and Greeneville, then you've made a statement.

I’ve always pulled for South Pittsburg. I’ve been through there a few times in the past couple of years. I think it is a beautiful place in the fall. The mountain & hill sides are beautiful once those leaves starting turning orange & yellow. I have faith that South Pitt can make the run & I’ll be for y’all to win it all in 1A.

I think I will make the trip to the Ship and cheer on the Cats. Oak Ridge is fun to watch when they're not smashing your own team..
