  1. Hummm....it seems some people on here object to certain types of trash talk and the like. Not calling anyone specific out here, just speaking in broad, general terms. I personally dont get offended by much any more. If I ever do, I am fairly good defending myself verbally. Having said that, I would urge everyone who is considering entering the wonderful world of message board smack talk, to remember that this is a place where guys like myself, Devilman, Swipes, GreeneGreene, GreeneDevilarmy, Mavsinflight, Blazer, Romans, Barb, Woodby and yes, even Batman, should he ever decide to man up and actually take a verbal shot at someone instead of always playing the diplomatic role ( you're still my boy blue ), can come to, to have some good old fashioned CHILDISH fun, without actually being a child. I guess its inevitable that someone is at some point going to go to far and say something they cant take back and it's then that we must remind eachother that this crap is just that.....CRAP and there's too many real life, real world strife going on, to get bent outta shape over something another human types to or at you on the internet. I said ALL OF THAT, to say this........Greeneville is going to kick the snot bubbles out of Elizabethton on the grid iron tomorrow night, then they're gona do it again in round three of the playoffs, should everything play out like i think it will. If anyone has a problem with that.....talk to devilman, cause he made me say it....neener neener neener!

  2. I think you under estimate the Rebels Sir. But you are entitled to your opinion. MARYVILLE never out "athletes" anyone but they certainly have a collection of GOLD that they have taken from fields that were full of them. Athletes will win you games , discipline, good coaching and good football players will win you Championships. Jmo

  3. I had Meigs #1 and Waverly #2 in my preseason poll. Nothing really happened to make me change that. You might look at Waverly's record and scratch you head, but they've played a brutal schedule. Right now, a couple wild cards may be Watertown and Fairley who are playing better than I expected.

  4. Fellas we have mtjulietgoldenbears clone. PC doesn't need bulletin board material but you are giving them a ton.

  5. The Camden game was needed. They were big up front, huge in the backfield, and physical. We need those type of out-of-region games. While I concede the travel is a stretch, the opportunity to play on a college field is an awesome experience for the kids.

  6. Case in point...SH sacked LC's QB for a 10+ yard loss, and ref threw a flag at the feet of an obvious hold on an offensive lineman on the play. SH coach was signaling to decline the penalty when the ref explained that the flag was for "clipping" on the SH player, and stepped off a 15 yard penalty. That's a 25+ yard "missed call" that defies any explanation. That's also the play that resulted in our coach being tossed for questioning the call, and missing the next two games. The LC poster that commented that our coach did nothing to warrant being ejected was ddaddy. Again...water under the bridge, and no hard feelings at LC for anything. Just commented because it pertained to the topic.

  7. Agreed. He clearly hasn’t seen Waverly play this year. But he will “more than likely “ and will be singing a different tune.

  10. its actually funny that you said that....i light heartedly suggested on another thread that someone could help me out by walking down on the field about game time and faking a heart attack for me......OF COURSE none of those unhelpful ungreatful folk were willing to do that for me, even after alllll these years of Greene Devil videos ive pumped out for them...haha

  11. I too remember many times SS was very complimentary towards the Maryville program. I'm more of a supporter of the underdogs myself. Except for OR....I like for OR to win. lol

  12. I love this game. High school football is the purest form of the sport. Good luck to all the teams and may they all be injury free. GO REBELS!

  13. Waverly is better than Forrest but the distance will be closer. 63-34 will be more like 42-21. Don;t hang your hat on that. We suck, and y'all will be the 4th best team we've played. BGA, Watertown, and Columbia Academy are better.

  15. I wouldn't say Maryville isn't having a normal year. Losing to Alcoa (Who a lot of people believe is the best team in the state) . The last time Maryville Lost to Alcoa in 2010 they were the 6a State Champs. I see it being one of the Normal top dogs in Maryville, Whitehaven, or Oakland. Dark Horses are Blackman, Germantown, or Cane Ridge

  16. Friendship already turned it down and Notre Dame would be a good warmup for later in the playoffs when the teams we will be playing are run oriented.

  18. i really will be interested to see the outcome of this one. East Nashville has a very good football team that can make a deep run come playoff time. But i been around long enough to not count PC out. I am gonna lead toward the big game experience in this one and say PC gets the win, however I think it will be a great game.

  19. Shownuff I can't agree with you more. The JB stadium is one of my favorite places to visit in 1A football. Great football atmosphere. Last time I was there I felt like I was fixing to buckle the old chin strap and hit the field. This type of game makes me miss playing high school football. JB vs G'ville will be the game you don't want to miss. I really look forward to this trip.

  20. Easy money, I'd give some big odds. I've always pulled for you guys but I only want you to win if you are truly the best team. Reason being, I want the East toting the Gold.

  22. Nope. Game was won at LOS. Nope. Maryville is the defending 6A state champion, had a 76 game home win streak, hasn't lost a region game in 18 years, has 12 state championships since 2000 and is 143-4 in the regular season since 2004. Can't take the win from those kids by saying "Its just a rivalry game, those can go either way" . Disrespectful to both programs and their kids. Since 2000, name a season when Alcoa gets a win over Maryville and doesn't go undefeated....I'll wait.

  23. good performance by Alcoa's golf team. Congrats

  24. It's going to take a group effort on defense to bring down Givens at RB. I'm sure G'ville will throw it some but stopping the run is the #1 priority.

  31. East : Tyner, Meigs, Trousdale, Watertown West : Columbia Academy, Waverly Central Peabody or Union City, Fairley I believe this to be the 3rd and 4th round teams in all honesty. I could go a round further and put who I think would be in the Semis but really dont want to hear the moan and cries that would follow it. Even though it would be a fair assessment if I did. Anyone think those teams wont make it to third round for some reason? Why not if so.

  32. Maybe cause he has been a great pioneer in Metro that won 2 states. I don't get the hype about East after looking at their schedule . They should always be good but Friday will show their true coaching against a talented PC team. RESPECT YOUR ELDERS.

  34. People forget it's a game and 2 teams show up and wanna win!! The best team doesn't always win!! We all joke and rib each other but facts are facts!!!! I had rather come into the playoffs battle tested than having ate cupcakes all year,I believe Peabodys loss might save the season! I believe that whole heartedly!!!! I can say I know it's the best time of year in Tennessee sports!!!

  35. Still can't count them out. They may not be the favorites, but they're too good for one of the consensus picks to overlook. I hope not to sound like I'm beating a dead horse, but in '16 Waverly came to Scotts Hill and flat out blasted us 40-0. They won every phase of that game convincingly, even though we knew what was coming (region opponents that we had plenty of film on, and had played in previous years). Fast forward to the playoffs, and we beat the #1 ranked Cardinals on their field, smoked Lewis County at their place, and went to Waverly for the rematch...we lost 20-14 and possessed the ball twice in the final five minutes to take the lead. Losing to Union City by eight doesn't guarantee that the Tornadoes (or anyone else) will eliminate this team in a few weeks. Go back to the GC vs. Peabody thread and re read what even the Tide fans said about the Pioneers play on the field, and any of the favorites could fall to them if they aren't very careful.

  37. Can we borrow a few of those boys? Seriously though, big potential with that group

  38. Why should you be praised for having a tough schedule when you lose to all the good teams on it? The only team that has been given serious credit for how hard their schedule is has been Union city who I guarantee has a tougher schedule despite what CoachT’s system might say. And they get credit because they are a proven team that has won gold

  40. East Nasty is providing great bulletin board material. My guess is the so called over rated players will have something to prove. I like the confidence but I don't like putting down kids. I don't like taking away from kids accomplishments.

  42. So is this a excuse why Greenville and Elizabethton was tied at halftime 3 to 3? Come on man your coaches are not that stupid to let other teams learn their play calls....lol Be a man and give credit to Elizabethton when credit is due.

  46. Golden State having more talent on their team didn't ruin the NBA. I don't care about eras or the current make-up of the NBA. There have ALWAYS been teams that dominate in the NBA. They dominate because they have the most talent on their team. It has ALWAYS been like that. This is OLD HAT. Golden State is just more RECENT. Don't be fooled by what you see now, and don't be misled by folks who don't know the history of something, and just complain, because, that's what they do. Who cares how the talent got to Golden State! The NBA will adjust. It always has. This is no different. Golden State will not come close to being as dominant as the Boston Celtics of the 50's and 60's. NOW .... THAT was domination. No team since has been able to replicate it. The Lakers of the 80's. The Bulls of the 90's. The Spurs of the early 2000's. All of those teams were loaded. Regardless of how they aquried the talent. Golden State is doing their thing currently ... but they are one of many NBA franchises who've had a dominant team in an era. Don't get it twisted.

  47. Jacob Warbritton of Huntingdon broke the all-time single season rushing record and still holds the all-time single season rushing record for a QB and didn't win it. That's like Peyton Manning not winning the heisman. This award is a popularity contest.
