I dont understand why my fellow cyclone fans let you get under their skin. It's the same song and dance every week and every year since Greeneville started their dynasty. If Greeneville doesn't blow out a team then it was an off night. It's never anything the other team did. The quicker we just accept it the less effect devilman will be. He thrives off of this ish and loves pushing buttons. Why keep feeding him.

Please point out where Greendevil87 said anything about the officiating in his post you quoted? Both sides had bad calls or non calls on plays. Both teams played hard and both teams should meet again if they take care of business and will be in for another battle. It was a great game and great atmosphere! Much respect for Betsy!

I have always laughed when I hear people say Alcoa is just a 3A school. Alcoa is not your typical 3A school. They dress nearly 90 players. They have a ton of athletes. They have a legendary coach coaching there with a good staff around him. Here is how dominant Alcoa has been since 2004. 11 state titles since then. 1 runner up in 2014 losing 7 0 to CPA. 2 other years 2011 2012 Alcoa lost to eventual champ CAK by 1 and 2 points. CAK blew Milan out both years. 14 points have kept Alcoa from winning 14 straight state titles. As a Maryville fan I dont like seeing Maryville lose to Alcoa. I also give credit where credit is due. Alcoa has a great program. All these folks who think their team would drill this little bitty 3A school need for their team to schedule them. They are always looking for games.

Great game cyclones much respect blown calls are part of the game... Devils got away with a few Cyclones got away with a few but we witnessed a great heavyweight bout between 2 powerhouses and I enjoyed it but nothing but respect for the cyclones.

Yes, we're open zone. when attendance reaches capacity for the building, they have to be ( out of county) turned away. To explain further...there are two high schools in Henderson County, and we get a lot of county students who would logically go to the other. We have always been able to accommodate those. Scotts Hill is partly in Decatur County, and have an "agreement" (contract) to allow Decatur Co. students for which they (DC) provide the busing and pay tuition, provided that the students live within a zone determined and policed by them. We usually accommodate all within that zone as well, and have a small amount (most years) of room to accept out of county students on a first come basis, provided that they pay their own tuition. Most of these are usually Decatur Co. students who don't live within the DC zone, with the rest being Hardin, Chester, McNairy, and the occasional Madison Co. student.

Great job by those kid's at chuckey doak. I can't even imagine how hard it must have been on those kid's to go to their team mates funeral and then have to turn right around the same day and play a football game. Congratulations on the win

Woodby 30 you got me going back and looking at my own post lol. I read it again just to make sure I didn't say anything about the officials. The point I was trying to make was that I didn't agree with a couple of the decisions that coach Ballard made on those two drives inside the 10 that they didn't score on. I give elizabethton a lot of credit they are a good football team . Even said in my post they were deserving of their ranking And that their skill player's we're fantastic. I think coach Ballard is a great coach and he is doing a wonderful job I just was saying running the play clock down the first time got them in trouble on that one. And on the other one even the screen to goodard hot in the end zone those receiver's blocking out in space like that are much easier to see a hold than it I'd up inside where there is so many players in a tight space . Man I know I don't post a lot on here. But I have read it for years. Trust me I'm not one of the trash talkers. I like to come on and just talk football. And get other people's opinions. But I did not mention the refs in my post. And I'm not crying over anything I'm happy for the win. I know we beat a really good football team. But since you brought the officials up. My take on it is this. I rewatched the game this morning. And I don't think they did as bad as I thought they did last night. There was some missed calls both ways. But after watching the replay there was a lot of close calls they got right. Ok mean at the end of the day. Greeneville had more penalty yards than Betsy. And was called for several holds which were good calls at least the one on hite was for sure. But you know Betsy throw the ball I don't know how many times probably 30 some time's and if I'm not mistakin never got called for one single hold all night. So at the very least I think that show's the refs are not in greeneville's pocket lol. At the end of the day the refs did not decide the outcome of the game. Good luck the rest of the way. And maybe they can hook up again in round 3. I think Betsy has a shot at AC it will be a great game .

South struggled against union and will be facing and angry ehs team that can hang with one of the best in state. This game will be ugly.

Whoever said coaching was a tie needs to apologize and then deactivate their account. East Nashville has talent year in and year out and always under achieved. Yeah they were 8-0 coming into this game but who have they really beat?? Until the staff is changed you are looking at a 1st or 2nd round playoff team every year which is sad due to the number of college athletes that are on the team. The PC staff cultivates their players and turns them into a team each year that can handle adversity and hostile environments.

I thought Written called the game a little too loose. I believe if Betsy had run the ball more it would have opened up that passing game a bit more. Ultimately it was the lack of "big plays" that doomed the Cyclones. When you catch the Devils on an off night and you don't capitalize on their mistakes you aren't going to win. Glad to see the Devils can play 4 quarters against a quality opponent.

No it wasn’t a hitch all night cuz the receiver never ran down field to catch the ball, just put it this way as soon as the ball snapped he threw it. Quick pass to the wide out when we play 10 yards off the ball you can do that

Lot of football to be played. Elizabethton has a good team and s good coach they played hard just like I knew they would. To be honest I feel better about Greeneville going in to a rematch if it happens if and that's a big if they clean up the penalties that they had tonight. They scored touchdowns on 5 of 7 possessions . And the other two possessions they had it first and goal from the 6 both time's and some very questionable play calling and decisions put them in a position to where they got flagged and backed up. I felt like if they had just lined up and ran it right at them on those two possessions that with 4 tries they would have scored. On both and of course the first time they decided to let the play clock run down to 1 before they snapped the ball and they had a lineman move early. Should have just stayed in rhythm thing's we're clicking on the ground. I guess she wanted to score and not give them much time left before half to go back down. But I do believe the waiting to the very last second was what caused the false start. So I believe elizabethton would have to find away to slow down the run game. And if that means putting extra player's in the box. Then here comes the bubble screen. It's just tuff to stop greeneville they have a good offensive line and and a lot of talent at the skilled possessions. But I do want to give elizabethton credit I think they showed they are worthy of their ranking. And they play extremely Hard. And their skill position player's are fantastic. They are just a little behind Greeneville up front.

Without Tears at QB and missing two starting linemen tonight against Eagleville the offense struggled to find consistency. It was an improvement over last week though. Defensively: Besides the mis-tackles on the 43 yard short pass and run play in the 1Q that lead to Eagleville's TD, they were never a threat at scoring. Eagleville had less than 100 yards of total offense and 65 came on their TD drive.

Like I said before game plan was to run which Betsy can’t stop. Better team by far won.

I said the same thing. 2 maybe 3 would have have been pick 6’s against more quality opponent. We could have easily been down 21-7 at one point. I’m sure it’s tough, but the best players need to play. An opportunity to get to a state championship is a real possibility. There is no next year for the core of this team. The best players at each position need to be on the field, bottom line.

Some of the worst officiating I’ve seen in a while but nevertheless an ugly win. Defense looked dominant per usual except on a couple plays.

Most schools do not truly understand how difficult it is to barely have enough players to field a team. I hate it for those that want to play. I know it is not fair to those on schedule that now have lost a game but in all fairness at least those schools still have a team. I can guarantee there are players at Oakdale that feel worse than any of the players on the teams they have to forfeit to. I have played (many years ago) on teams with less than 20 dressed. It’s a tough task and we lost a bunch of games but pulled a few upsets also. I had the time of my life and enjoyed it. If I could go back in time....I would have still played with those other 15 or so guys I still consider good friends. We battled together and have a bond amongst us. So before any stones are cast at Oakdale...think about this.....how would you and your son feel if he played for Oakdale. I can only wish them the best. To those senior players...cherish and hold onto the memories.
