This is a strange generation of kids. I use to say kids would rather sit at home and play video games over going to practice and working hard- which still holds true. However, now kids sit at home and watch youtube videos of other people playing the games!

Haven’t seen her play so don’t want to take one side or the other. But an offer to a freshman is based on potential not the current player. She can have the most potential but I have a hard time believing she is currently better the Moore from greenfield. If she is she will win 4 miss basketballs

#22 is a fine young player but just a freshman. Greenfield has 2 better than her at this time! Maybe 3. Jackets are loaded!

Might be because Greenback is a brand new school building and WB is an older facility that is falling apart at the seams due to Pizz Poor Run Blount County Government that got it into that condition. WB is just a comedy of events that shower the front page newspaper headlines all the time like how to fund the rebuilding of this school on Wednesday with no real solutions. Then today we read about one of the schools that feeds into WB regarding Miss Nasty causing a roach infestation in her classroom and having to be mopped nightly and additional pest treatment so they gave her ten days off to think about it. Greenback don't want kids transferring there and bringing Miss Nasty's roaches with them.

They are young too! Look for them to stay between the 7 and 12 spot the next 3 years!

Crap. Anyway I'm adding this. God love the moms who do support their boys and sport.

Take some time to see who has the most influence over the boys in today's society. I know I'm gonna step on a toe or two by saying it but it's the ladies. Here's another toe stepped on.....our boys are being feminized because of nonsense like toxic masculinity and other such garbage. Beta males is the new normal and step dad's get bullied by the moms. Sorry guys but it's the truth. It's very scary to think what things will look like 20 years from now....at my current age I probably won't see it.

I have seen all of the kids mentioned here several times on different stages of basketball (high school and travel ball). Weathers is the real deal and is deserving of being up for Miss Basketball. I even mentioned to someone around the Christmas break that people on coacht are talking about everyone in the state in Single A besides Weathers and Loretto, westtnfan may be able to vouch for me on that. Now it appears that everyone is wondering about Weathers and Loretto. She is about 5'10 and can score the ball from everywhere. I do know for a fact that she has a standing offer from Alabama for basketball, a school her brother was originally committed to in baseball before decommitting after the coaching change and changing his mind do Vandy before deciding the become pro. I know there have been some other SEC schools that have shown interest in her, but as of right now, her only offer is from Alabama. Is she as good as Chloe? They play two different positions, but yes she is capable of doing the stuff that Chloe does on the floor right now but in different styles.

Pretty sure she is averaging about 20 ppg and shoots 80% from the line. I don’t know all her other stats but she is very good for a freshman and makes her teammates better, she gets everyone on the team good looks at the basket.

Maybe do a little homework before posting.. Greenfield has 2 players that were Miss Basketball finalist last year. Maybe they don’t have SEC offers yet, may get them may not. But Miss Basketball is an award for your high school season not based on offers or who your daddy or brother is. Weathers is one of the best freshman players I have seen and I think her upside is crazy but don’t disrespect other players you have not even seen play.. I have seen Weathers play multiple times, she is definitely good but those two from Greenfield are very good also. If you were in the State Championship game last year like my daughter was, you could have seen them play. Loretto has a very good chance to make it to state and I expect them to as well as Greenfield. So maybe you will get an up close look at these 2... Good Luck to everyone, Single A basketball is loaded at the top... cat wait for this season to play out.

Jada is a very good player and is deserving of being a Miss Basketball finalist... she’s had a great season and career at Oak Ridge.

There are several great teams in class A from all over the state. Some that don't get talked about as much as others but are just as capable of winning. I just wanna wish everyone good luck and I hope everyone stays injury free. IMO it's anybody's gold ball to win and everybody has a chance. Clarkrange, Clay, Greenfield, Gibson, Loretto, etc can win, and all can be sitting home watching. I for one am thankful to be a class A watcher this year because we are all in for some great games to watch

I am thankful to the good Lord to have watched these girls and I appreciate the compliment. I have said many times Greenfield is the champion until beaten. We have played well the last two games especially offensively, but Greenfield, Gleason, TCA, Dresden, Loretta, Clarkrange are all playing well too. We have to get out of here first, which is not a given. But I appeciate the compliment. Our girls are very fundamental and unlike some of the past GC teams don't have that star player or players but have several good players and just grind it out until the end.

Dont promise what you cant deliver.A "good coach" should know that.Scheduling down and then still coming up short doesnt help.Taking weeks off when the kids need the practice doesnt help either.Also we all know how bad they have been but they have had the talent to win more than 1,2 or 3 games the past few year.But thats just and ignorant garbage opinion from a fan of a school you have never heard of (which has a 80% win record since 1985.)

Weathers is legit

I think you are right. Chloe Moore should win Miss Basketball this year and Tess Darby next year.

The best single A player in the State is none other than Karly Weathers from Loretto! SEC offers before you play your first high school game. She is going to be fun to watch the rest of her High School years. Father 18 year MLB veteran, mother All-American basketball at Belmont. Older Brother was the Gatorade Baseball National Player of the year last year. Karley already has 3 AAU national championship rings and a volleyball state ring. Oh and by the way her little sister is a 6th grader and was MVP of the middle school basketball Sectional tournament last week. If you have the opportunity go watch her play sometime.

It is my understanding that the Ag center is going to remodel this summer and pour concrete inside and add locker rooms with showers. They are doing so many multipurpose events there now and are starting to get booked year round with those events but they are having to keep their prices low because of the dirt. So they know they will make a lot more money once they move away from the ag events. Also, the AG center isn’t free and certainly isn’t cheap right now. I’m not sure what they are charging TSSAA and I’m sure it’s much less than similar venues but it’s not free I can guarantee you that. What will be interesting is if after the remodel and their prices go up if the TSSAA stays there. My guess is they will. The location and venue are just too great. As for attendance, the only way you fix that is to go to single all divisions tourney for the individuals. You do that then we could sell out Bridgestone.

There are goods and bads with everything in life goods 1) the venue is free 2) location is centralized 3) viewing is decent for spectators bads 1) it’s a national embarrassment 2) the kids wrestle on top of animal manure 3) there is dust and animal fecies in the air. It’s on the rails, on the seats, on the concession stands, on the water fountains, on the concrete and everywhere in the facility. Do you think the entire place is sanitized before the tournament? That would cost more than hosting it in Bridgestone Arena. 4) the attendance is embarrassing 5) There are no showers. There isn’t even a locker room for the kids to change. They have to change in the restrooms with the spectators. There are several health code violations going on here. In fact according to the TSSAA you can’t host a football playoff without shower facilities. How much more for a wrestling tournament?. How ironic that the main focus of the TSSAA preseason required coaches meetings is skin desease. I guess since it’s the end of the year it doesn’t matter. I’m shocked up to this point there haven’t been any lawsuits (just wait). 6) the athletes deserve a first class facility. They are wrestling in an agricultural center. It’s not an arena. It’s a barn for animal shows. It’s supposed to be the state tournament. The showcase. The ultimate event of a high school wrestlers career. Make no mistake. They are wrestling in a barn on top of animal fecies. You can deceive yourself all you want. It’s a National embarrassment.

East TN AA better keep an eye on Friday nights game between Northview and Jefferson County. Northview is as good as any of the teams AA teams I have seen in Middle TN and they are flying under the radar. I think they beat a 20 win AAA team in Jefferson County Friday night at home and go on to win region. You don’t want to end up #2 in other region!

Statement game at Oak Ridge. Lady Wildcats thump the Lady Cougars 74-44. OR will need to win over Powell on Monday to share the District 3-AAA title.
