Thanks Swarm! That's what I've been posting all off season, but they keep calling me crazy just because we lost the 3 headed monster! I completely agree that we lost ALOT! But people don't realize we didn't lose everything! They'll just have to see it to believe it I guess!

Greenfield will never get to host a tournament and you know that. I just heard Loretto has over 500 students and do you hear anybody from Greenfield complaining about that. No and you won’t because we don’t make excuses. We ought to be looking at this as a big advantage playing at the college and getting use to the wide open space and big gym.

Tssaa evaluates and adjusts classifications about every 5 years. Loretto was under the 1A number in 2017 at last classification change. They will reclassify in 2022. All the schools are listed with classification and enrollment on tssaa website

Waverly SHOULD be in the semifinals. Anything less will be a disappointment. With Columbia Academy leaving it makes that path to the semifinals a lot easier.

Until an official announcement nothing is a done deal. I can tell you the Devils have once again been hitting the weight room hard and have had College Coaches from UGA, TN, Wake Forest, Pikeville, Georgia Southern, Furman, MTSU, Kentucky, Tennessee Tech, ETSU, and Emory and Henry stop by and check on the Devils

Childress is a junior. She will be a beast next year too. She got that first step that is hard to defend. They do alot to only have 7 girls on that team. Only losing 1 senior and have a huge crop of incoming freshmen next year. I think Peterson has came along way since she moved to Dresden. She still averaging around 12ppg and 6 or 7 assist every night. She wasnt getting them assist at Clarksburg. Ball control and fundamentals has really improved for her this year (not sure West had anything to do with that). She got several schools looking at her but I have not heard if she has gotten any offers yet. Washburn is lights out when she hitting.

I wish they would do away with this award. Basketball is a team sport!

Defensive strategy plays a big part in determining the pace of a game. No shot clock should be needed with the five second rule (in my opinion), because the defense has the option to press the issue. I've seen a couple or three games where one team held the ball, and the other team was content to allow it... the final score was 11- 12 in one of those, but that's not what we're talking about. The NBA and NCAA run shot clocks because offense sells tickets and TV time, and the commercialization of sports is big business. The spirit of the game is two five man teams and strategy... if you're good at being patient and getting a higher percentage shot, it's up to the other guys to counter, or lose. Dean Smith perfected the four corners offense, and the NCAA intervened with the shot clock because of pressure from the networks.

It’s always a battle when Fairview and Waverly meet on the football field. Both teams have been very very good in recent years and I would expect for their annual game to once again be highly competitive and make both teams better for their respective playoff runs come November. 49-42 Fairview in 2018 50-49 (OT) Waverly in 2017 27-26 Fairview in 2016 34-25 Fairview in 2015 21-7 Fairview in 2014

I say top 4 from every district come in and then you play every night single elimination until there is a winner. Let’s see who is conditioned to battle it out!

Four classes, three teams make it out of district tournament to the region with district winners getting a first round region bye. Make it an incentive to win the district and make the consolation game in the district mean more, #4 goes home.

AMEN! I've said this for years for all High School sports. Train em better , pay em better , retain the good ones fire the bad ones. You're not gonna get or keep quality officials for the pay they make and the abuse they take every game.
