Scott Cupp, Athletic Director WBHS 865-621-3065 I have been able to avoid coacht for some time (since July 2017). Occasionally my good friend Robbie Lotz will let me know if there is something brewing. So, of course, last week, I was told there were issues regarding a guy called Shadroach. This past weekend I read a lot of the information on here. As I expected, a lot of WB bashing so not much has changed. Still a great deal of debate from those who are anonymous. First of all I would like to say that I realize some of those who post and are poking fun at myself and Shad and others are just being funny and having a good time. Some of you are more serious and that's fine also. However, when kids start getting called out that's a bit over the top and unnecessary. So I would respectfully ask you guys to not do that. The reason I feel the need to post today is I have spent some time this afternoon dealing with the Shadroach/Rick Young saga. I actually met with Rick today and I would like to tell those on here that Rick Young is not Shadroach. Rick has a son who is the head baseball coach here and has another son who is the head principal of a middle school in BC. He has absolutely no motive in typing the sort of content that has been written. As far as him being upset four years ago, that is over and done. Furthermore, Rick was never upset with Shad to begin with. He was upset with me. I was the one who had discussed with Rick about becoming the head coach at WBHS before Shads name got thrown into the mix. Rick and I spoke shortly after that hire, and we continue to talk to this day and all is well. So he has nothing to gain by posting that type of stuff. I would also like to politely ask Pinocchio and TNFanatic to back off this CSI-like investigation of finding out who Shadroach is. You will drive yourself mad trying to figure it out. Please refrain from using pictures of Coach Justin Young, Coach Rick Young, and Coach Charlie Puleo. It is not necessary. It will only cause more issues. I would also like to politely ask Mr. Roach to cease with the madness. You, sir, (like it or not) have stirred up too much drama. I have told my coaches to disregard this message board as there will always be haters on here poking trying to get a response. I know that personal attacks are hard to take, but I have learned it is best just to take them and move on. I know that I try my best in my role, and many times I fail. But I am doing all I can. Coach Shadowens and his staff are doing so as well. When Coach Shadowens came from Blackman we were told that kids will love playing for him. That remains the case here. There will always be complaints, but I have also heard from countless kids and parents about how much they love playing football for Shad. Building relationships with kids is very important in my opinion, and I stress to my coaches each year about being there for them. I am as much of a competitor as anyone, but, at the high school level, there is more to it. We are dealing with 14-18 year old kids who have a lot going on in their life, and it is important to help them as much as possible. Anyway, it is good to see all of you guys on here again. Catch you again down the road. Call me if you need anything and follow me on twitter at @ScottCupp11.2 points

Sorry, I didn't mean to paint you up like a villain but only trying to explain that he wouldn't mention anything about a player. The whole point was to let Barnaby Jones know his sense of clues were way off. A friend of mine posted that Morristown Meme on facebook that evening just as you saw it and I got on Coach T and saw the new Mo Town East Thread that had only one post that was a day old waiting for a reply. So I did what me or you are famous for so I figured I would add a little foot traffic into the room so the guy wouldn't just hang there. Didn't mean to set the guy on fire like I did though. I can tell from your post that you have been burned in one way or the other by Shad so it's payback time which have been pretty funny. You have definitely upset the applecart at WB or they wouldn't all be lined up whining to Coach T. Like I said earlier in a post that I will not say anymore that would insult the fans of WB because I do pull for all the teams in Blount County.2 points

it happen in 2009, the best game of the single A tournament with Manassas winning with a 3 at buzzer & going on to blow everybody else out, that should have been the championship game.1 point

ALL THAT TALK AND NOW WE WILL NEVER GET TO SEE IF CLAY WAS BETTER THAN MANASSAS LOL1 point

I really dislike everything about CA, but thank you to them Dawgs for shutting up Loretto. I do believe CA has what it takes to finally get a gold ball. Carson Cary is the real deal.1 point

I’ve not seen her quite any game this year, and I don’t know what was going on, but I do know one thing, if you want kids to play till the end you have to coach till the end. That’s all I’m saying and I will leave it at that.1 point

That will make his day, i will tell him what you said. If you need an autograph I can arrange that. Ha!1 point

Has the south endzone been leveled off yet or does it still rise up a foot or so towards the right corner?1 point

I remember that and Jackson County went 0-25. Jackson County is really his home team but he jumps around a lot but don’t mention all the recruiting that goes on in that district that’s a sore spot for him.1 point

You obviously don't have a clue what you are talking about. Many more injuries on turf. Fact. Turf is not as kind to you during a hard fall. Fact. It has to be replaced every few years, which costs H*** of a lot more than upkeeping Grass. Fact. Actually playing on it multiple times, I feel that I can have a good opinion of turf. By the way, you should call Tennessee, Alabama, LSU, Ohio St., Michigan, Texas, UGA, and ask why they don't use turf. Because it sure as heck isn't because of a lack of $$$. But hey, Vandy has turf!!! And that 80 year old dump has a ton of tradition, which even the rivals will say. It is nice going to watch a Game at GHS. You are right over top of the action with no track and the bleachers being right on top of the sidelines. & opposing fanbases can almost never "fill" our visitors stands (Which are larger than most team's Home side). But yeah, you keep enjoying these new style stadiums built out of aluminum beer cans, and can only hold a capacity of like 2k. Good for you. Next.1 point

It seems like a no brainer. Not too far apart, and the teams are comparable.1 point

Westview is headed to Mboro for the 7th time and finally have a good chance to win it all.1 point

Ok I am picking the West's games because I don't know anything about the other games. Columbia Academy over Loretto: I have seen CA once at McKenzie and to me they looked like a legitimate state contender. Very fast team and great shooters. Loretto has a big kid in James that is great athlete and a PG that is a lights out shooter. I think this is a close game but CA gets the edge. McKenzie over East Robertson: McKenzie is a quick and athletic team, where all five starters can hit the three. Will be a sold out crowd at Bethel. McKenzie is a very underrated team in Class A. Humboldt over MAHS: Humboldt has all the pieces that a great team should have. Quick athletic guards and a big stout front line. Humboldt is a very tough place to win at especially in the postseason. Manassas over Peabody: This game will be a lot closer than people think it will be. Peabody has played Humboldt very well this season. They have a Mr. Basketball candidate in Harris and he can do it all. Peabody has had other players step up big for them in the postseason. Manassas pulls away late to win.1 point

Sorry, been off the computer for a while. Loretto and Summertown were the only 2 teams with "better" than 500 records in their district. The next closest is like 10-19 or something like that. 1Mustang...McKenzie and Huntingdon aren't powerhouses and I was referring to those 2 teams..this year. GreenfieldFan....they are not the favorite to win. They should win the 1st round, and will then play with either Greenfield/Clarkrange for a half. You're just being nice about being the favorite. Just an honest observation.1 point

No one called Loretto the favorite. I just called out a very uneducated post by superfan. Greenfield is the favorite. Hopefully, they will beat Clarkrange... then we can see them play Loretto.1 point

Westview has been to the state tournament the past 7 years in a row. Their current players have all been there before and for the seniors, this is their 4th trip in a row. I think that works in their advantage this year and takes them to Saturday. Going to be a fun tournament!1 point

No disrespect to Covington, but this would have been South Side probably had they not lost one of the best PG's in the state in Que Miller against Westview this week. I say Macon wins by double digits in this one.1 point

No she didn’t get hurt. She’s the best offensive player on the team. Meigs has a lot of talent but you ask any fan, the coach will quit if they get behind, he struggles to make end game changes.1 point
-
I was at the game and it just seemed like after half time the Meigs coach did not care if his team won the game or not. Also, I think it was #23 for Meigs that seemed to be a player but hardly played the second half. Just wondered if she got hurt or coach was not pleased with her in some way1 point
-
If I were doing a power ranking, this is how I would go... I've seen almost all of these teams play also. 4 - South Greene 5 -Grainger 6 - DeKalb Co 1 - Macon Co 3 - Cheatham Co 8 - Marshall Co 2 - Westview 7 - Covington1 point

Westview knows exactly how you feel. Their senior leader went down in the first half of the first game of the state tournament last year with an ACL injury. It’s a tough pill to swallow and the “what if’s” stay around for a long time! Praying for a speedy recovery for her!1 point

Meigs played hard but to beat Macon on there home floor they had to play perfect. The Macon coach did a really good job by pulling the press off at time. Both teams had a few turnovers but both teams have really good PGs, and Meigs stayed in it and Macon shot a lot of layups. Meigs is good enough to beat Macon but not in that investment on their home court. I was impressed by the support that Macon had their. Meigs should have taken care of business and I believe they would be going next week to Glass house. Congratulations to Macon and I believe they win it all.1 point

The first step would be to fire all the asst coaches. That losing mentality has to go. Sometimes you have to cut out the cancerous ones, especially those who point fingers.1 point

Good luck finishing sub .500 next year... Reality is, Gill overachieved with that team, was coach of the year last year. Obviously his coaching peers think highly of him.1 point
