  1. Good answers! I think the personality and the abilities or inabilities of the coaches play a bigger factor today. 10-15 years ago I had the same attitude as haweanbula. When my son was in school he stayed and finished out with the guys he grew up with and made some great memories even though that didn't include a ton of postseason success. Today, with a grandson coming up I would recommend he look at all his options like WarChant said. Seems like every week another player "transfers" for primarily sports related reasons. It's seems way more prevalent in high and especially NCAA now. It's been long accepted for a coach to jump ship and go to a better program but if a player does it he and his family are often criticized for not being loyal.

  2. Need to get #23,#7, & #98 back to 100%. #2 @ FB looked great. A lot of Talent and speed! For the Redskins #21 & #18 are the real deal!

  4. I respect your opinion but politely disagree. I am a “coach”and I feel part of having good character is how you act and your grades/academic effort. If have seen kids think they can act however they want and they think there should be no consequences. Life doesn’t work that way and we do a tremendous injustice to students when we don’t teach them this early. If I have a kid that can’t stay out of trouble and do everything they can to make the best grades they can (which is different from kid to kid) then they don’t play... point blank. They are a representative of our school and community.

  5. Thanks brother! I heard that Loudon has been looking forward to 2019 for a couple of years now because of the upperclassmen. They also are supposed to have a playmaker in #25. We will be missing several key starters for various reasons, hope we look good and play physical.

  6. When it's all said and done only about 1-2 % of these kids will play at the next level. Like someone else said, if you are in that percent, go to camps and put together a highlight video and somebody will find you. My advice would be to stay put unless it's so obvious your kid is getting done wrong that a lot of other parents have approached you about it. Don't just assume LIttle Johnny should be the starting QB based on your opinion.

  7. Would be a good hire. She's been learning from Campbell and West and if she really wants the job, I would give it to her. If she can bring some of Dresden's stuff to Lexington that's a huge win. And Tipton Rosemark will get lots of interest.

  10. The only way I would transfer my son out of a high school program is if, I feel like the coaches are overall immoral or teaching him immoral lessons. Otherwise suck it up and play the position your coach puts you at. I don't care if the coaches are sub par coaches. I don't care if the team goes 0-10. If the coaches are good men, my son is getting a good education, and he is growing as a person then he stays, The only other way I would transfer is if I had a career change and had to move.

  11. I simply know that Caleb is a very good offensive mind who did well at CCHS with less than nothing to work with. His teams always scored points. If he can find a good DC and have an opportunity to play more than 12-15 players he'll do well. That said, I believe that some of the East fans need to get a grip on expectations and where that program is right now. Even had they lured Billy Seals from West Virginia back home, it's not an overnight fix with that program. The talent level just isn't there yet, and that comes from folks I trust very much who cover that program on a regular basis, and not from me. The program needs talent and numbers, and that's not going to happen quickly. It does take time. I'm not going to dog Dwayne Wells. He's a a good guy and he does a good job as a football coach. But, again, those with a lot better knowlege of that program than me tell me that for whatever reason he just never did connect with that community, nor the community with him. Sometimes it's just not a good fit. And to add to the issue for both East and West, the new Lakeway School program is going to get it's share of talent from both zones, as well. Both are going to have to work harder to keep those kids in the public schools and in its sport programs.
