Lets make a story up that'll help you understand. A few years back in a far away land was a Ferrari dealership. The Sales Manager could do no wrong. Sales were off the charts. Sales ability mattered not. He was selling Ferrari's for shadsake. Things were going along swimmingly until whispers and rumors caused an audit of the company books. As Law Enforcement dialed in the Sales Manager quickly left the area. No hard feelings by the dealership and stock holders the problem was gone. Before long the Sales Manager interviewed at a new dealership. They sold Yugo's and Daewoo's. The Manager convinced the CEO he could turn them into a powerhouse dealership in a very few years. The CEO listened as he sipped a Cupp of coffee. He knew several of the other applicants but was mesmerized by the Ferrari salesmans promises of the future and dreamt of the glory and adulation that would come his way for making such an astute hire. Several years have passed since that day and the results are abysmal. The CEO has painted himself into a corner by his inaction and failure to take the reins and restore order. The dealership is now the town joke and all who know the management know them as weak and ineffective as they watch their key employees leave for other dealerships. The Sales Manager sees the writing on the wall again and wishes to use his charlatan skills to dupe another dealership but alas the word is out and he finds nobody ready to entertain him or his services. Why Bass? What did he do to you? He and Southtowner are the SP posters that give us (SP) any class at all. The only two that tell it like it is . Bass has even upset me at times for doing just that and picking a Pirate foe. Bassy is as they say fair and balanced.

Continuing with our region preview shows, tonight we release our class 5A shows. We'll have a series of 3 videos tonight dedicated to class 5A! The first video premieres at 6:00 PM (Central Time) and will cover all the East side of the State (regions 1 thru 4). At 7:00 PM, we'll release the second video dedicated to the West side of the state (regions 5 thru 8). Both videos will feature "LIVE CHAT" during the premiere showing. I was just saying as you said, yes all three teams in this county have benefited from transfers at one point in time! It’s just not one single team...yes GB has on paper for now, seems to be benefiting the most but no one has played a single game yet. Let’s get the season started then see how things pan out. To many uncertainties during the season that can happen to change a team. Injuries being the big one! Definitely going to be a interesting season to say the least! Yes, I’m some what partial to #24, but without those other ten guys out there with him he wouldn’t have been able to accomplish what he did! He was a very humble young man!

People from Greenback think that nobody is recruiting kids to come there, that the transfers they did just get to plug holes are unproven and also that the HC of Pirates Vic Grider has enough time to be Old Pirate, Ambassador and Roy Dillard all at the same time along with coach one of the most successful small schools in the state. I can tell y’all kinfolks one thing about Greenback that’s absolutely certain. If these posters are alums then the academics aren’t the reason anyone is moving to Greenback. I’m just keeping it real

There is one thing to remember about this Tennessee- Texas debate. There wouldn’t even be a Texas if it wasn’t for Tennessee....just sayin....remember that Texans!

Depends on how you look at it. Applying for a job just down the road in some people's eyes would be like cheating on your spouse especially when all the nosey neighbors talk and brother do they like to talk. Maybe WB officials love playing the part of submissive in this strange relationship and know he'll be back home after all the applications have been filled.

Per population, Tennessee turns out more than its share of D1 players, and they are coming from all three grand divisions of the state. And that's not even to mention the number of kids ending up a the D2, D3, and NAIA level. Tennessee high school football has come a long way in the last 20 years.

Coalfield was loaded with transfers a few years back never heard greenback crying then and not gonna hear it now. They strapped em up and played ball and went out and won. Simple don’t cry like you are doing right now and just play.

Don't think Greenback would have won their region without the Transfers,now they should win State . I'm fairly sure they will have more transfers starting than they do kids who attended greenback through grade school. Thats Just unheard of. DANG. If the shoe was on the other foot and Coalfield was getting all these kids, Greenback people would be crying foul.

Just to be clear SP has had 1 SEC player in the last 30 years. You have multiple ones on the same team. The last team I saw with that kind of talent was NCS in 2015. So there that..

So SP basically has 6 starters returning on each side of the ball. Greenback has how many? 5 each way, plus you received some absolute fantastic football players off the waiver wire. SP has one transfer who is starting. Greenback has all of theirs starting. I’m sorry, I still don’t see the logic. To be the man you’ve got to beat the man. Right now.. Greenback and Whitwell are both the men. They have both beaten SP twice in a row.

Old Pirate says the bigger question is how many starters return for GB? 4 GB linemen, 2 reportedly SEC quality, 4 transfer starters from various programs + the returning stud WR?

Have only been around Shad a couple of times, so can't really comment on him personally. Friends from back to RuCo that was on his staff praises him. Maybe rightfully so. Says he's as good of guy as you will find and a good coach. But. The guys I know that are around the WB program grow less and less fond of him with every year. Some involved outright can't stand him. Applying for every open job under the sun isn't helping his case either.

Stinnett and Rutgerson will make their Mark quickly. There's no way you cannot double team Willis when you do that these other three kids are going to be extremely hard to cover one on one.BUT we HAVE to be able to run the ball!

It is insane. Me and the wife went to Houston and some of the schools stadiums we passed could outdo some smaller college stadiums. Their schools looked like small colleges. It's crazy the difference.

Indeed, I know Kalib and his brother Liam. Both are outstanding young men and great football players. Our team has a difficult road ahead this year no doubt. But if everyone stays healthy and we sure up a couple kinks here and there it could be another special season here in Fountain City. Good luck to Henry County, would love to play y’all again soon.

You nailed it with Rutgerson. Can do a lot of things to help you win and a tough kid! Folks shouldn't underestimate the Fields kid. Another 6-3 receiver and is he just now coming into his own. Both of them will continue to develop and get better. Great kid as well.

Looking forward to watching a young team this year. We should be ok at all the skill position. QB has some arm strength to be so young. He'll do just fine.

Depending on the area of Texas I could easily see Oakland going 8-2 or 7-3 playing in Texas. If they had to play Lake Travis, Allen or Southlake it could get ugly. Keep in mind you have schools in Texas with 5000 students. Communities would rather have a freshman/sophomore campus and a campus for the junior/seniors down the street. This is done because they want the talent pool at the schools to remain large for athletics.

My wife graduated from MC so we kind of pull for each others team. I, also, have enjoyed the last 2 years from Cornersville but have enjoyed watching MC play the few years before that when Osteen got there. They have had a few players come through there that made it fun to watch. Under Osteen, they have had that kind of offense that makes you go WOW! that was awesome.

Uh-oh..... I keep hearing good things about South this year. Was really hoping to win this opening game, but we could start the season 0-5 against (South, Greeneville, Tenn High, Elizabethton, DB). Well if nothing else maybe South can bushwhack Greeneville or Elizabethton and throw the conference into a tailspin.....

I use to think in my immaturity that letting someone get away with attacks such as that show weakness. And in my years as I've gotten older I've learned more about trying to be meek and have a better understanding of it. In the end what does it matter what someone else thinks of you as long as you keep your values.

I agree with alot of your post Jack and we can guess but it really doesnt matter,and for the most part it is good fun.But when you actively accuse a players parents (which is exactly what he is doing) of breaking rules and recruiting kids for their sons benefit is actually a cowardess act if you are not willing to back up your accusations other than on a public high school ball board behind your computer screen.Also accusing others that are actually posting what we DO know to be the truth and covering stuff up is laughable.I always try to be honest and as ive said before if we have done wrong and they hammer us,we like anyone else would deserve it!That boys family is top notch and would never do what he is accusing.Im ready for football,let the cards fall where they may.

Well, for a start... I’m not sure what LaVergne has returning, but we COMPLETELY DOMINATED them!!! Yes, it was a “spring scrimmage “, but it was UGLY!!! MC did pretty much what they wanted and PRESSURED LaVernge’s offense (run or pass) the entire scrimmage!!! The final was 42-14, with LaVergne scoring ONLY on our third string (twice)!!!

Tennessee Football........ Pros Top Tier teams can COMPETE with others across the south region. Great Coaches across the State. High talent level all over West/ Middle/ East TN (in this order) Small communities that CARE about their School/ Community! Great Area to live, coach, and rise a family (have all 4 seasons) Cons Pay Scale low (Except private/city schools) Expectations are very low in most county's Hearing Processes (to much of what have you done or who you know) "Take Chances on 1st year Guys" Water down (Playoffs and Districts) Not enough funding for Football to be a priority at most places TSSAA whole system with other sports makes no sense Programs that should be top tiers are Mediocrity (Year in Year Out) Tons of Pros and Cons to add. However, other states in the south (Georgia) do things right. School Systems care about sports. Because we can all agree on, football drives a program. It can be good or bad! Depending on who is in the leadership roles.
