It has become clear there are many different types of Oak Ridge fans on CoachT.com.... ~~ All are OakRidge fans ~~ Some are optimistic ~~ Some are pessimistic ~~ Some are both optimistic and pessimistic ~~ Some are concerned about specific parts of the team " One game does not determine a whole season. " His he right or wrong??? Has the cement really dried on the 2019 Oak Ridge season after one game??? I AM ON THE OAK RIDGE SHIP FOR THE WHOLE SEASON! Will there be some tough times ahead? Will my heart get broken? Possibly but I am going to take the risk. Doing it my way will make every WIN taste sweeter. Every loss a little more bitter to swallow. But darn it, I only have one life to live so I am going to live it to the fullest. RWR! You Got This and I got Your Back! Who is riding on the 2019 Wildcat Ship with me???

This will be the last post I post about a transfer. If they’re here and they came the wrong way then report it and quit talking about it.

I just feel like DB has more speed and a bigger more experienced line. I hope OR proves me wrong and pulls out a win!

Yeah I definetly see us giving Beech a good game. As long as we see improvement that's all you can ask. Omaha is right we could quite possibly be the best 6-4 or 7-3 team in the state come playoff time. By the time playoffs start the freshman QB will be a lot more settled and who knows we may pull of a few wins in the playoffs. Either way its Henry County Football and it excites me regardless. These coaches will figure it out. Our coach always preaches that's why he schedules tough opponents in the non region so they can show you what you need to work on and get better at. It's absolutely true! So be it if we go 6-4 or 7-3. Haywood showed us we need pretty good work on the o-line. So let's work there and get that headed in a positive direction which I know the coaching staff will. With Counce, Jelks, and Muench I feel like by the last half of the season u wont recognize the o-line from week 1.

He actually throws a beautiful ball, but it’s something he will have to get more consistent with. He threw an ugly flutter in our jamboree that ended up being picked off, and then bounced back and threw a 30-yard dime for a touchdown the very next series. He’s still coming into his own regarding arm strength.

If Oak Ridge went 4-6 would anything happen. I remember back after Emory Hale moved on the people of Oak Ridge put a lot of unbelievable pressure on everyone after. I'm just curious not living over there and wondering if the fans over there have softened up.

I'll eat my crow, boys. I'm a little biased, to say the least, when it comes to my football program. When you've won for as many years as the Patriots have, you become accustomed to it. I'm always going to believe that we are going to beat the competition, week in, week out. That's just the way it is. No disrespect intended in my predictions, just pride in our program's history of success.

Were you not around in 2009? That was the slowest OR team and it wasn't even close. We are certainly slower than the past several years. I agree with the post above, don't let the first game define your season. 2 years ago, we got waxed by Farragut with a sub-par effort on both sides of the ball. I told my son that you and your fellow seniors need to get together and decide what kind of team you were going to be. They met as players on the following Sunday and decided to salvage their season and finished strong. This team can do the same. They are much better players than they showed Friday night.

They're always bigger and this year they'll be faster. But OR will hopefully find a way to win

We will see if it pays off in the long run. Right now the consensus is Huntingdon is the clear cut favorite for the 3rd year in a row.

I do not say this to tick people off or to be funny but Oak Ridge being ranked at # 7 is fair and accurate. Obviously, we were over ranked preseason. Past tradition of eight State Championships and one National Title will do that. It will take time to get this team up to their potential on offense. I don't want to put too much pressure on one young player but once this kid gets going the Cardinal and Gray will axcellerate. We are on the right track defensively and will only get more stout and nasty. Oh, by the way, if you won't to know how good I am at predicting high school games go to the Big Ones Results page and scroll WAY DOWN because I am south of the border.

Nope great coach at Fairley !! He has totally turned that program around and kept the big schools from poaching his kids as well!!

I didn’t make the poll. It really means nothing. Huntingdon and LC are the top 1a teams in the west. Make it a tie for all I care. I do however like to hear LC posters crying about being the stepsister. Sorry for throwing out a few things about the game. I know most you don’t like to actually talk about football. Huntingdon is not trying to beat its chest about beating Mckenzie, but you shouldn’t be about beating UC. They simply aren’t the UC of old.

Gibson County barely beat a bad Obion Central ball Club and could only put seven points on the board against them. Pioneers should not even sniff the top 10. If the truth hurts, so be it.

When you look at the teams in this poll then you know 6 classes are too many.

When everyone else on the T gave Gibson no chance last year, there stood shocker in the shadows telling everyone that Gibson had a chance... respect!

Surprised Union City made your poll. Says alot about how good you think Lake County is.

True. Moore was probably one of the fastest kids we have ever had though. I think he was even a bit faster than Graham was. Strangely though, I never thought he was a really good RB. Yeah, he was decent, but just never impressed me all that much, but that's just me. I actually liked Elliott Normand a lot as a RB back then, but he played LB, so he was more important there. Man, did that kid bring a load carrying the ball though. Yeah, I'm not counting this team out either. I don't think anybody was happy with what happened Friday night, but it is a long season. Lots of things can happen.

Our district is unbelievably good. I think Cosby, Alcoa , or GP all 3 have been and are good enough to be state contenders. I hear AE is improving as well. Cosby just beat Jackson Christian , Munford , and Sullivan Central to win their division in the Smoky Mountain Cup at Rocky Top for the third straight year.

I say again. We always play close games with Oak Ridge. Oak Ridge may lose 3 of 1st 4 but still will contend for a region championship, hence #1 seed. The south is not as good (yet Rhea County Offense always is tough to deal with) and to get to round 4 OR has to beat Region teams. I seen it with HVA a couple of years ago. Got on a roll then competed losing to Oakland. I know it's a long way from playoffs but I post this to say be patient with this team. BUT you should of won it all last year (not a jab just a football fan) you had the best team in 5A. As others said it's just game one.

Just as I reported from the preseason results Anderson and Mueller are playing well. Mueller scores the tying goal vs Austin Peay on a set piece that was cleared to her from five yards away and she shot it back in. Anderson has played a lot as a right back in what so far is a three back rotation. Mueller can run like a deer and is the most physical player on the field for UTC most times. The first freshman to start was BA’s Klippenstein at the 6. She’s a steady 6 and rotated with a few others. The sophomores and freshman are all getting quality minutes right now. Will be interesting to see what happens when the Socon schedule starts.

Need to use the kids arm as well as his legs. He can throw a baseball 90 mph and throws a pretty football too. Huntingdon has kids who know how to catch and a senior heavy line. Open up the playbook and THROW THE BALL! 12-0 looks great against a weak schedule (TBD on how good Milan and Camden are) but when it comes playoff time Lake Co will be ready for the run every play. Ain't that right Falcons?

I just think it sad tc has have 2 bi weeks because no opponent but same time its a football rich program right next door to tc and would been a great gate for both schools

Alcoa and Pearl both have performed at a high level for so long that they're just not any 3A programs. I'll give Pearl-Cohn this, they'll play anyone, regardless of classification. The state as a whole only benefits when the best programs go out and play other great programs. I hope we can cut down the amount of classes so he's like this are occuring more often, even if it's just in the postseason

What happened Friday night? Oak Ridge returned their entire offensive line and Hardin Valley knocked them on their butt all night long. Number 53 for Hardin Valley was coming in untouched most of the night and the only time they could even get close to blocking him is when they blocked at his knees. Some people may not like it, but this is the worst I've seen Oak Ridge play since S.S. was the coach. What has happened and what can be done about it?

Not that I can find and pretty sure there isn't one. Hardin Valley usually streams their games on diamondclearmedia BUT since the game was at Oak Ridge, it was denied to stream the game due to Oak Ridge's no streaming games policy. Now, I never knew OR had such a rule since I have seen home games streamed and on TV in the past. Maybe someone can explain why the game wasn't streamed. If I find the HVA vs OR game online I will let you know.

We could be the best 6-4 team in the state by playoff time, and that very well could be the case. I think we win 1-3 of the non-region games though and finish 7-3. This week will be tough, but I do think we match up better with Beech and will see some improvement.

Great Road win for Alcoa !

I missed it by 3 on both sides. I feel pretty good about that. there were no questionable calls or bs penalties, which was GREAT. Alcoa earned that win. Blackman has some athletes, but they got outcoached by Brian Nix tonight.
