  1. Believe what you want to believe, but happy employees aren’t looking for other jobs and true leaders don’t need chaperones! Either way you all and the head chief in TC got what you wanted and I bet your old coach is a lot happier now too! Everyone’s a winner.... Well except TC on the football field! LMAO

  4. Oak Ridge is back home playing their third tough Class 6-A opponent . The Farragut Admirals, coming off a bye week in which they beat Idle High in Beer Pong is rested and ready. The season started in exciting fashion with a come from behind 37 - 30 road victory over a good Bradley Central team. The Ads then stumbled and lost 24 - 13 to Knoxville West. West is one of many Knoxville area 5-A teams that could make it to state. The Wildcats looked anemic in their first two game loses. However, OR sprang to life last Friday to defeat Campbell County 40 - 0. Stellar play was put in by # 14, # 20, # 44 and a pack of Cats who were getting their first significant playing time. Hopefully, the coaches continue to mix in new plays, new schemes and players. This is going to be a very tough game for both teams. Let the discussion begin....

  9. You think this game is up to how BA starts the game? As if the opposing team has no say in the matter? Oh, it doesn't get any sweeter then this right here!

  11. My prediction is Maryville 42 Alcoa 14. After the game we'll hear you wouldn't beat us if you didn't have our players. Which we'll yell right back" they left because they hated your coach". You'll yell we're just a little ole 3A school. We'll yell back but your playing with half of the boy's that should be playing for Heritage and half a dozen that live in Knoxville and Seymour. You'll yell our younger ones coming up are superstars. We'll yell back because their all shaving and driving cars to school in the 8th grade.

  12. Wow threads on coacht all over the place lately. As a Cloudland fan we have been on both sides with transfers . When we were winning got a lot of transfers from Avery County then when we had some tough years we lost some to Elizabethton, Hampton and Avery County. I think all the Carter County teams lose some to Elizabethton now they they are winning but im sure when they are down it switches. I think all the teams get some , I rem about 3 straight Qbs that started for Hampton were from other schools a few years back when they were making some deep runs. I think "most" of the time the team who is winning gets the transfers.

  13. He’s backed in a corner and can’t answer the questions asked. My question is what’s “wrong” or “rotten” when a transfer abides by the rules set forth by the governing body of our amateur athletic association? I think that’s the same question you’re asking and not getting a direct answer, just a bunch of deflecting and muttering. Kinda like a Liberal......

  14. Well, they are certainly not powder puffs this year. I set the other thread name simply to get some talk going. But DB fan newbies need to trottle back their excitement a notch. Just too easy to get over confident.

  15. Never saw him in a public forum whining about something nobody can control. Kinda like crying about having to play in the rain. Being on the same page is not the same as spewing this envious garbage about teenagers on a message board. If coach lambert disagrees with me on this then it certainly wouldn't be the first time we didn't agree on something. Been friends most of our lives, don't reckon this would change that. As for most people argreeing with you, we'll its a good thing I don't give a tinkers durn about popular opinion. Kinda goes along with saying what you feel I reckon. It's my opinion, don't gotta be yours. I'll work on that number for ya.

  17. They can fall in the rankings all day long. The only team in the west that can play with Haywood is Dyersburg and I still like the Tomcats by 3 scores. The real question is who represents the east this year???

  18. Your probably right Roy, they would have been probably easier if they didnt have those transfers. Meigs has transfers too though. And i imagine so does South Pitt. I don't feel like Greenbacks is more of an offense than mine or yours would be brother as long as they are all legal and I don't know otherwise so I really dont think about it. I just go to watch football games and do a little filming for the kids as I have been told they appreciate it. For us I am sure their transfers made us better honestly. I was glad to watch a highly contested game.

  19. Who are the players they stole?

  20. I really have to disagree with this statement. Because a player played little league for a YOUTH PROGRAM doesn't mean they have to go to that high school once they enter as a freshmen. Josh is there at Powell however, he hasn't coached little league since 2017. With that said, he wouldn't have been these current freshmen player's coach. Another thing; TSSAA can't stop a parent from sending their child to another high school to get a better education for their child, if their transfer was approved by Knox County Schools.

  23. Both true statements and I agree completely. Fans are gonna be fans. What is funny though is seeing people interject comments for their home team or any other team that think they know this or that or think that someone is talking about their own kid or someone else's kid, when they are wrong most of the time. They are hearing a lot and speaking mostly in general terms because of what they think they see or want to see. Funny how those that hail themselves Kings or Queens of whatever most likely spent most of their football career watching more football from the sidelines than from the actual playing field until Jr or Sr year and under circumstances......and that makes them the smarter of the opinion based masses. Bottom line is that yes, fans are going to be fans, parents parents, grandparents grandparents, and kids kids. If there is a coach out there anywhere that takes any of this seriously on these opinion pages, not really sure they are in the right line of work. Matter of fact, doubt most that are worth their salt would even entertain looking at this stuff.

  24. Idk. I hope the Admirals get a win but it’s a rivalry so... anything could happen. farraguts biggest issue right now is the O line. Not the only issue but the biggest. I don’t know enough about OR or Campbell County to know if OR turned things around on Friday or of they just played a not very good team. So I guess we will see. I agree it should be a tough game for both.

  26. Pearl Cohn usually is loaded, but having it translate to the postseason has been a struggle for them at times

  27. Dickson County is terrible, but records aside, MBA and Cane Ridge are usually very solid. Both have lost to the same two opponents (Brentwood and Pearl Cohn). On a side note, Pearl Cohn must be freaking loaded this year. Aren’t they 3A?

  28. The Indians have gotten better from scrimmage to scrimmage and game to game and I expect that trend will continue all season. The coaching staff (and it is a good one) has 2 weeks to review films, improve on mistakes and heal up a bruise or 2. Overall I don’t know how a DB fan could not be overjoyed with this team. Improved is an understatement. 3-0 to start with 000 turnovers. Proud of this team

  29. Not to nitpick a comment that is correct. But when I hear fans say that they are generally talking about passing the ball because the running game isn't working. But generally if you are unable to run the ball then the passing game isn't gonna fair any better results. I was at the Lebanon vs Station Camp game last year and the SC fans were all over the coaching staff. "Turn the playbook to page two!" and "Do we have a 3rd play we can run!" were some of the colorful comments I heard yelled at their coaches. Because they were generally just running 3 times and losing yards only to punt. Rinse and repeat. But their offensive line was getting crushed. The Quarterback would have got killed trying to pass the ball. They just were overmatched. But I think that fans just want to see teams try different things if something isn't working.

  31. I don’t know about all of that. We have to handle business in 2a. We can’t come in asleep expecting a win. South side has a quick running back and the quarter back can throw.

  34. I didn’t make it. Listened on the radio. 2 interceptions (one in the end zone) and a touchdown called back for a penalty will not win you close games. Seemed to be a very controversial call at the end. We hit a 50 yd pass play into the red zone. The ball was apparently knocked out on the tackle. The refs initially called it down by contact but then proceeded to discuss the call for 5 minutes (no joke) and decided to overturn it. Regardless, sounds like we didn’t deserve it anyway. Still feel good about our team, especially the defense. We are just really lacking the QB play that we’ve had in years past.

  36. Spot on. I truly am not an Upperman person. Don’t hate them but don’t have any attachment. I like it when all the teams in the Upper Cumberland are good. It just so happens that UHS is really good right now

  37. Upperman is a Legit St Contender. When you see other High School Coaches say hey there's just that good then believe the Hype. Discipline is the word that comes to mind. They don't make mistakes. I can't Stand them but I respect them. I believe they were the 2nd best team in the St last yr in 3A

  38. I can definitely relate to this post vandy. I am more positive about our team right now than I've been since Stroup left, but that doesn't change the fact that we're not ready to compete with good teams yet. I think that our timeline is two years out before we can challenge anybody relevant, but in my estimation y'all are closer than that. Between where we were and where we are now, we threw two years in the trash, and a lot of kids aren't playing now for that reason... I think that Waverly went straight from "the man" to the "next man". The Tigers graduated a great class, and was going to have to re engineer their team even if McConnell had stayed. Changing coaches also has that effect on a team regardless of talent returning, and you had both things happen at once. Now for the good... Talent level and depth are still there, and though it's different, you know the coaching is there as well. All the Tigers need is time to gel from good players with a good coach into a team that believes in themselves and their coaching... won't be two years.

  39. A Whole lot more and I'd say 90 percent of fans couldn't coach a good flag team. The game of football has evolved . Ive heard it a million times, they only run up the middle or the outside, I've never figured out where else they could run it. People don't understand different formations, blocking schemes ect. I've never met many fans that couldn't do it better. lol

  40. Moore county is down in numbers(less than 30 on the team) and smaller size wise than in the past, but as usual, they are not afraid of contact and will hit you in the mouth. Pretty disciplined on both sides of the ball. Gave up a few big plays, but other than that, very sound defensively. Hats off to them for a great game and a great environment.

  41. If you’re on here talking about how your kid needs to get the ball more you’re a joke. Let the coaches do their thing. There’s a reason we’re 33-7 in the past 3 years and it’s not because of you.

  42. I absolutely love the coaches in the stands that have only coached Jr pro. The coaches coach and the fans coach hahaha. That's why I don't sit in the stands to many idiots that don't really know jack squat about the game hahaha.

  45. I thought it was a very hard played game by both teams. I f you want to get to specifics Huntland should have been up 21 to 0 at half. They also failed to score twice when inside the ten. But I will not go there hats off to the Tigers for the win. Both teams left it all on the field. Good luck the rest of the reason.
