  1. If they would have just named the school Alnwick instead of William Blount, a treasonous, impeached senator, all would have been well......

  2. Can’t believe it’s already last game of the regular season !!! And I’m gonna be stuck at work it doesn’t matter to me who they are playing I just enjoy watching Cherokees and high school football on Friday nights !!!!

  3. I don't have a dog in this fight, but if Central couldnt stop Elijah Young/SD in conditions where it was obvious they were gonna run the football, why would one expect it to be any different when the weather is dry. In the playoffs, the weather isn't always going to be ideal, which is why good defense and a running game will always travel

  4. I haven't seen PC this year but I know EVERYONE said the same thing in 2017. Can't count out those region 7 teams.

  5. great post Barn. lots of folks knew consolidation would be a problem, but no one listened because some people were more interested in making money than the future of BC kids. All of the parents that were former H/WB students taking their kids to different schools is evidence of unfavorable experience and still lingering resentment.

  6. 91 no one hates WB and that is a fact from all the people that are from Maryville that are on here. You may not know this but the other night when they announced WB was ahead of Cleveland at the Maryville game there was a lot of applause from the crowd and I know all those people were hoping you all could pull it out. A lot of us get frustrated with Shad because of things we aren't normally used to and some of his coaching methods. Sometimes you have to have tough skin when heated debates pop up on here. I myself can get caught up in the moment and pop off with things I really shouldn't of said but I do want the county schools to be competitive and just want to shake some sense into some of the leaders that are hurting those programs. Your young and missed out on some of those things a some of us got the opportunity to live through when we had all those small schools and each community was very close and could keep a watchful eye out on it's own. At the time when all these schools were put together no one then could imagine all the problems that would come of it down the road especially in the football programs and the records speak for themselves.

  7. Don’t worry cause I hope the same lol I’ve already had my fair share of run ins with a few Forrest posters this year

  8. Thanks Rip abt JNS and JSS. I thought it was decided but you're right, they still gotta play. I typed Haywood (in place of Hardin Co) bc they were on my mind after reading the Commissioner's post and they're not even in that region.

  9. Yes, we do it's going to be very difficult to beat those teams and keep the injury bug away. I just hope you'll do me a favor and absolutely demolish Forrest one of their posters, talks so much crap (the general) noting would please me more to see Peabody put a running clock on Forrest.

  10. How could you even boast about what they do? Your enrollment is 33% out of county lol. Bunch of braggarts think your special for running your region? What happened against Maryville? They are more of your equal? BUMS.

  11. I don’t usually agree with the Tssaa very often, but it seems the school didn’t report all the information when they got the the go ahead. The mistake lies with the school

  12. Week 10 Update Well it was a wet and soggy Friday but the playoff birth picture is becoming much clearer in most regions. Teams still undefeated Beech and Powell Games to watch Soddy vs Walker Valley Daniel Boone vs Cherokee Knox Central vs Knox Gibbs Seymour vs Halls Powell vs South Doyle* Oak Ridge vs Fulton Shelbyville vs Columbia Hillsboro vs Hunters Lane Ridgeway vs Kirby *=non region game Region 1 vs Region 2 Region 1 TN High wrapped up the Region title with their win over Cherokee this past Friday. The race for second is far from over and will be decided this Friday. Daniel Boone currently has the second seed in region 1 and has Cherokee this Friday. With a win DB will lock in the 2nd seed for region 1 and with a loss it gets interesting they could fall all the way to 4th. Cherokee could jump up one with a win and a Crockett loss. David Crockett with a win would secure at least a 3rd and possibly a 2nd place finish if things go a certain way. Region 2 The Championship and 1 seed went to South Doyle after knocking off Knox Central. Central can lock up the 2 seed with a win Friday over Gibbs Friday. However Gibbs can take 2nd with a win over Knox Central and a Halls lose. Seymour and Halls are in a play in game if Seymour wins they are in if Halls wins they are in. If Gibbs and Halls lose then it forces a 3 way tie. Which which the first two tie breakers won’t work so they would have to go to the 3rd tie break which would be teams on the schedule with records above 500. If the playoffs started Friday (based on current standings) TN High vs Knox Gibbs Knox Central vs David Crockett Daniel Boone vs Knox Halls South Doyle vs Cherokee Region 3 vs 4 Region 3 Oak Ridge gave a great effort to almost knock off Powell. However, good comeback by Powell to pull out the W and the region championship. Knox West handled business against Fulton. Oak Ridge has Fulton this week in a battle for 3rd place in the region. For Fulton if they don’t win it could mean missing the playoffs. Campbell Co is still not out of the playoffs and neither is Karns mathematically. Campbell Karns and Clinton need Oak Ridge to beat Fulton. Karns and Clinton play each other to see if they can be apart of the possible 3 way tie. Campbell has a tall task of playing Knox West to keep their slim playoff hopes alive a win and they could force the 3 way tie with Karns and Fulton. If Fulton and Campbell loses and Karns wins, then Karns is going to the playoffs since they would have the head to head against Fulton. Clinton could win but they would lose the tie breaker. Region 4 Walker Valley vs Soddy is the big match-up for the region title. Walker Valley were to win against Soddy it would create a 3 way tie for the region championship. Which if Walker Valley wins, Rhea gets the 1 seed and WV gets 2nd seed and Soddy goes on the road. If Soddy wins then Soddy gets the 1 seed, Rhea 2, and Walker Valley 3rd. Rhea has Marion Co in a non region game. Lenoir City has a non region match up vs William Blount. If the playoffs started Friday (based on current standings) Powell vs Lenoir City Rhea vs Oak Ridge West vs Walker Valley Soddy vs Fulton Region 5 vs 6 Region 5 Page has secured the Region title this past Friday after beating Lincoln Co. Shelbyville can lock in to the 2nd seed with a win over Columbia or with a loss it could throw them into a 3 way tie with Columbia and Summit. Summit has Lincoln Co this Friday and a win will secure 3rd. Region 6 Beech has secured the region title with a great win over Gallatin. Gallatin has pretty much locked into the 2nd spot. Hillsboro and Hunters Lane will battle it out for 3rd spot on Friday. If the playoffs started Friday (based on current standings) Page vs Hunters Lane Gallatin vs Summit Shelbyville vs Hillsboro Beech vs Columbia Region 7 vs 8 Region 7 Henry Co has clinched the region championship no matter what happens Friday vs Northwest. Dyer Co has pretty much locked in to the 2nd seed. They play Kenwood Friday in a region match up. Kenwood is pretty much guaranteed 4th place at this point. Clarksville has pretty much secured the 3rd place in the region. Region 8 Southwind has secured the region title and the 1 seed for the region. Munford should take care of Kingsbury and secure the 2nd seed. The battle for 3rd will be determined Friday between Ridgeway and Kirby. If the playoffs started Friday (based on current standings) Henry Co vs Kirby Munford vs Clarksville Dyer Co vs Ridgeway Southwind vs Kenwood

  13. I don't know what to say Varo than repeat something I've said before. Something is not jiving. I've seen yall play. You would be undefeated had he not even suited up. I know that doesn't mean anything at this point in time.

  16. I haven't seen a more improved unit than has been Oak Ridge's offense this year. The first several games they literally could barely line up, and now they are really clicking and have an opportunity to make some real noise in the playoffs. Hats off to the Oak Ridge team and coaches. Great job by all done from the start of the season though week 10.

  17. How hard is it for TSSAA to verify a “bus” runs by the home address when conducting the initial clearance? That is complete failure on TSSAA part if they are clearing without checking all the qualifications. They should have a checklist and once they clear they clear unless info provided was false info. If the issue was the bus in this instance TSSAA should have known that prior to clearing the player. That should have been asked & clarified. TSSAA messed up and should not be able to penalize retroactively on a cleared player in this type of instance. This is crazy stupid! Don’t clear until you are presented all paperwork that could affect an entire team. As long as all actions and paperwork is legit then clear and own it! If at some point evidence proves otherwise then there’s an issue. Have humans lost all logic this day & time? Surely there is more to this than what has been presented. If not I pray for those involved a fair and just appeal process is done and TSSAA will realize they dropped the ball and to penalize someone else for their error is absurd.

  19. I don't know were you get the stangs have better team speed. LC has that advantage. Line play favors LC regardless what you want to believe. Yes, we can throw on Huntingdon we can also run it on them. LC has more playmakers than Huntingdon. LC is just as physical or more so than Huntingdon. All year LC has been building depth on the lines and linebacker. Nobody but Greenfield has seen LC true starting defense. Two major players have played very little defense all year but they are now. Stang fans have their opinions and we have ours. Black Friday if both teams stay healthy and one team in particular hold their end of the bargain up then we will see. Your QB will not be the fastest player on the field I promise you that. Lawton good back but no more physical than Tubbs plus Tubbs is the better back.

  22. Yes, I was out in the rain lined up on the field to honor my old coach. He's the alpha of the current culture going on with the football program now. All of the Whitehaven alum who grace the sidelines on Friday nights or like me, are in the stands in support, are there because of his tutalag and mentorship. Salute to coach Collins!

  25. Old Pirate says the TSSAA is more interested in $ than Officiating integrity & solving orchestration of rules violations. OP reminds coacht fellers, the TSSAA allowed Whitwell to win a state championship with a Known ineligible player! This type selective TSSAA failure to do their primary job to insure fairness, rules are adhered to, violators are held accountable is inexcusable!

  26. Congrats on the shutouts but it’s playoffs time teams will score against you in the playoffs ....... and y’all know Alcoa scared to move up they rather stay in 3A . If they move up they should go to 5A , 4a is weak

  27. This is per Page 7 of the TSSAA PDF linked below. Please disregard the dated reference to the East/Middle teams that somehow made it in there. We know that McCallie (East #1) will host the loser of the CBHS/MBA game. https://cms-files.tssaa.org/documents/tssaa/2019FBRegulations.pdf TOP HALF #1 East (H) #4 West #2 West (H) #3 East The winners of these two quarterfinal games will play in the semifinal round, with the higher seed hosting. The winner of that game advances to the TSSAA II-AAA title game. BOTTOM HALF #1 West (H) #4 East #2 East (H) #3 West The winners of these two quarterfinal games will play in the semifinal round, with the higher seed hosting. Winner advances to the TSSAA II-AAA title game.

  30. One week to go until the playoffs. This should be fun. II-AAA East McCallie 4-0 (8-1) [vs Ensworth] Baylor 3-1 (8-1) [at BA] BA 2-2 (6-3) [vs Baylor] Ensworth 2-2 (6-3) [at McCallie] Knox Catholic 1-3 (6-3) [vs FRHS] McCallie is the #1 seed, meaning they won't have to leave Chattanooga again until the state title game, should the Blue Tornado make it that far. Baylor is already in, but that was the case even before Friday. They have clinched no lower than the #3 seed. Baylor will get the #2 seed with a win, or with a loss *and* an Ensworth win at McCallie. Baylor would have the most overall wins of the three teams at 3-2 in that scenario, then BA would get the #3 seed and Ensworth the #4 seed. With a loss and an Ensworth loss, Baylor would be the #3 seed behind BA. BA gets the #2 seed with a win *and* a McCallie win over Ensworth. BA gets the #3 seed with a win and an Ensworth win (as noted above, Baylor would be the #2 seed with most overall wins). BA gets the #3 seed with a loss *and* a loss by both Ensworth and Catholic. BA gets the #4 seed with a loss *and* an Ensworth win. BA misses the playoffs with a loss *and* wins by both Ensworth and Catholic. Ensworth gets the #3 seed with a win *and* a BA loss. Ensworth gets the #4 seed with a loss *and* a loss by Catholic. Doomsday scenario for the Tigers is a three-way tie 3-2: an Ensworth loss, a BA loss, and a Catholic win. Catholic with the most overall wins gets the #3 seed, BA with the heads-up gets the #4 seed, and Ensworth is out. Catholic will need some help. They need to beat Father Ryan *and* have BA lose against Baylor to make the playoffs. In that scenario, Catholic gets the #3 seed with an Ensworth loss or the #4 seed with an Ensworth win. And with FRHS at Catholic starting a half-hour earlier than Baylor at BA, I could imagine Catholic if they win watching the live stream from Brentwood (dunno about Baylor, but I know for a fact BA will be streaming the game live/free) to find out whether they will make the playoffs. II-AAA West Briarcrest 4-0 (9-0) [vs. MUS] MUS 3-1 (8-1) [at Briarcrest] MBA 3-1 (5-4) [vs CBHS] CBHS 2-2 (6-3) [at MBA] We know the teams making the playoffs here, but not the order. Briarcrest has clinched a quarterfinal playoff home game. The Saints will be the #1 seed with a win over MUS or the #2 seed with a loss. MUS would get the #1 seed with a win at Briarcrest. MUS would get the #2 seed with a loss and a CBHS win over MBA. MUS would get the #3 seed with a loss and an MBA win over CBHS. MBA can't get the #1 seed, and in a three-way tie at 4-1 would actually be the #3 seed (eliminated from the tiebreaker on overall wins, with MUS the #1 seed from beating Briarcrest as that scenario would necessitate, and then Briarcrest the #2 seed with the head-to-head over MBA). If MBA wins and MUS loses, MBA will be the #2 seed. CBHS will be on the road in the quarterfinals. CBHS will be the #3 seed if they can win at MBA, regardless of the outcome of MUS/Briarcrest. Otherwise, it's the #4 seed and a long bus ride from Memphis to Chattanooga to face McCallie.

  31. We are the 14th smallest school in the state to play football as of 2017 we have recently graduated some of the largest classes in the history of Greenback. I think we are back down to 200 students which would put us in the bottom 10. We crushed Lenoir Cith 40 plus points in the 1st half which has over 1000 more student than we have. The fact that Heritage might not beat them is a joke. Heritage has the boys walking the halls to be good. They just need a coach that can get them on the field. And probably most important parents to support their boys playing.

  32. Really proud of the Lions. The boys could have packed it up and called it a year last night. Bad weather, slim chance for the playoffs they could have given up. These young men fought all night and came out as the winner. This was the type of game that these guys grew up in. I believe This will carry over next week. These kids have talent. They have to believe in themselves. If they do then next week could be a trap game. Yes I said It. NC could be overlooking us. They have their playoff spot tied up. Our Lions still want to be in the playoffs. Crazier things have happened. Shock the state Lions !!!!

  33. Facts!!! Alcoa haven't even crossed our minds. Giles standing in the way of PC making history again. First it was beating MBA and now trying to be first team in PC history to go 10-0. So focus is definitely on Giles County!!!

  34. Nope. Using the existing (and half-full) structure at Eagleton Middle School... K-7 will be at the current Eagleton Elementary, 8-12 will be at EMS. Pretty much a done deal at this date.

  35. I think Upperman will soon be in 4A. The school just keeps growing. Freshman class has over 300 in it. IMO this wouldn’t be a bad thing getting away from the juggernaut aka Alcoa. While you have some good teams in 4A none are like Alcoa year in and year out.

  36. Really??? It only rained on one side of the field and I guess only one team had access to the weather reports.

  37. On one hand I do agree that many bystanders are punished for the indiscretions of a few... on the other hand you have to allow for the possibility that those wins would have been losses without the ineligible player, and if you don't forfeit the wins, some other team misses the playoffs... there's no way to punish those at fault without collateral damage to the innocent. TSSAA's rules are posted, and as they say, ignorance of the law is no excuse. Add to all that the fact that there was prior knowledge (as posted on here weeks ago) that this would happen. If the "public" knew about it, the coaches and administration can't play the "what did I do wrong?" card.

  38. Thursday night games. High School Football is for Friday nights. Teams that play weak non region games.Give us a reason to come and watch Newspapers that dont publish Region standings. Only stats sent in by the schools 40 member cheerleading squads. Ever heard of cuts? Every coach with a head set. Not everyone is that important Injured players on sideline in jersies. You arent playing. Chain crew that cant keep up with the action.
