Lawnman, here is one cloudland fan who is going to be pulling hard for Betsy this Saturday. I'm thankful we have such a nice town for our county seat. Elizabethton has a great system going on right now. The people who are spewing sour grapes don't realize they're making themselves look bad. Go Cyclones!!

Greenback brings the gold home in this one. Lake county has a great team, but I believe Greenback is a bit better.

No real studs this year, and no D1 offers that I know of. Our offensive playmakers are senior RB Kevontay White #9 and junior QB Kevontez Hudson #5. White looks like a stud, he’s around 6’-6’1” and about 190. Hudson goes about 5’6” or so and probably 160. There are only two senior starters on offense, #9 and WR #15 Cale Jones. Hudson isn’t a terrific passer but he has his moments. He is a true running threat, though. He took one 81 yards against Haywood for a TD. We run the shotgun spread basically, which is what most teams run these days Defensively we are senior heavy, especially at LB where we start three seniors out of the four LBs. #43 Mikie Neal and #27 Yonel Rodriguez are senior captains and along with senior #48 Christian Trujillo they are the defensive playmakers. There are seven senior starters in defense most of the time, the three LBs, three on the d line and then #15 at safety. We run a 4-4-3 base defense, but will sub and change depending on personnel and down and distance. Th3 Jackets won’t shock anyone with their size, for we are usually smaller than most of the teams we play. Springfield makes up for that with execution and heart.

Thank you very much for the roster. A lot is expected next season from this group but I notice many of the players played key roles this past season. A key for the Wildcats next season is blending all the classes together to form one Band of Wildcat Brothers. Thanks again for the roster and Happy Holidays to your Family. RWR!

Speaking as one of those fans, I appreciate it. Always enjoy going to Maryville, only regret is that it's basically a 4 hour trip getting there. The area that surrounds their stadium looks like something out of a movie

UD I happened to be at the game just to enjoy what turned out to be one of the greatest HS football games I’ve ever seen. I could have attended any other game in the area but chose this one. I must say I seen a lot of ball in my time but what SP fans were doing during warm up was as classless as I’ve seen. You can throw rocks a high school kid all you want for a stair, but, I guess your ok with what seemed the entire SP making derogatory at GB players on dropped punts.

If your program could ever make 6 state appearances in four years and then maybe you would understand why Greenback got some student transfers. And those students aren’t that bad at football either. Theres a running back for Maryville that tried to transfer to Greenback his freshman year from William Blount. He had a Greenback address but that address was zoned for William Blount. Greenbacks Principal denied him bc rules are rules. So running back transferred to Maryville. Greenback doesn’t cheat and Greenback isn’t gonna deny people who move inside school zone.

Was there any back and forth before your boys transfers or was it just pure luck they matched up with coaching changes?

He's the top on his team and in the state because of his measurables. It has ALWAYS been about his measurables. It has NEVER been about game performance with him. In fact, it's like that with lot of major high D-1 prospects. He's a freak of nature with his size AND speed.

Parker Hughes is the best football player in East Tennessee.

You got this far with the size so I’d say it’s a non factor. The will to win is what it takes. Nobody makes it this far by accident. Our offense has been successful this year by the oline. The big guys have been playing great. We have a big back in Maupin. Just tough to bring down. Qb can run and throw and has been playing very smart throughout the year, sneaky fast and has avoided hits well. On defense you will hear deuce Morton all game long. What our big boys don’t stop up front he will make plays at MLB. And Parker Hughes will take up the secondary with Maupin. Defense has been stingy especially of late. super pumped for the game and hoping for an injury free game. Safe travels to all the yellow jacket fans making the trip!

100% my son grew up playing with Cade Russell and I couldn’t be more happy for him and Elizabethton.Son does Witten Huddle and we love what Ryan does for him trying to make him a better football player. GO BESTY!!!!!!!!

The thing that kinda worries me this week is that we just played one the most intense and emotional games I have ever watched. Will our guys come out with that same intensity? Sometimes when a team is involved in a game of that caliber, the next week could see a let off. Considering this is the state championship game, I’m sure every ounce of effort will be there but will we be on edge? Will we be as focused? Hopefully but we’ll see.

Very true. Huntingdon adjusted real well to what we were doing. It took awhile for LC to adjust to it. Huntingdon is a great team. You couldn't told me LC would only throw the ball 3 times for 0 yards and win the game. I was surprised by that. Line play on both sides of the ball won the game for LC. If the Mustangs fans are truthful I bet they would have said no way LC rushes for around 350 yards against them. I don't think either team had a first down in the 3rd quarter. Not totally sure about last statement.

Next year will be the last battle for TC vs H20 for the region title and final playoff battle since we will be going our separate ways after next year. TC and Watertown both will be 2 of the top teams in 2A again next season.
