  1. If we play south Pitt in the future at south Pitt then I'm gonna contact TSSAA about removing the cannon. It's just for safety reasons. It could cause a elder person to have a heartache.

  2. I know this is a little off topic but I was going over some rosters and the first one I looked at was, of course, Covington. I must say, I got a little excited seeing a lot of familiar names returning next year and thinking a return to Cookeville may be in order. Then I looked at Pearl Cohn's roster and saw the amount of underclassman on that roster, not to mention, the main numbers (17, 7, 3) will all be returning. Now, I'm thinking that this is a State Championship type squad who will probably be favored next year. UNTIL I took a peak at Alcoa's roster and saw the UNGODLY amount of juniors and key players (Carroll, Saaunkey, ect) that will be returning next year and came to the conclusion that the rest of 3A might as well give them next year's Gold ball this weekend and take a year off...lol. Needless to say, 3A will be even tougher next year than this year and based off the play of all these young players on each of these teams should be really exciting and could probably challenge any squad from any division. Good luck to PC and Alcoa this Friday.....and, dang, I'm looking forward to the 2020 season already.

  3. Silly little guys tapping on a computer do not make atmosphere. Take a look in the stands, the school, the neighborhoods-I think you will see a mountain of support for D2 schools and the Bruins in particular. For all past teams and present, USJ deserves a gold ball. Hope they get it and hoist it high. Pulling for the Bruins big time!

  4. To pretend that the USJ program isn't supported because people aren't on CoachT arguing about petty nonsense and decades old grudges is ridiculous. Funny how the boosters (i.e. USJ supporters!) were getting blamed on here for meddling when the team was losing....Do the boosters get credit now?? I enjoy the banter as much as anyone, but let's be honest: message boards are a dying technology. It's just a few of us talking back and forth to ourselves. Who cares. Anyway. Can't wait to watch this one. DA humbled USJ the first time around. Their formula is to try to repeat that, control the line of scrimmage, pound the rock and run the clock. I think USJ will be prepared for the level of physicality this time. They have the size up front, and the the front seven on D was very fast and physical against NCS. Weather looks good for tomorrow. On a turf field, USJ's speed and playmaking should be too much. I look for USJ to win this one going away and bring their first gold ball back to Jackson! Either way, getting to play for a gold ball is a special day for these young men on both sides. Something they'll look back on for the rest of their lives.

  5. We'll do a postgame show this Sunday at 3:00 Central Time. We'll have interviews with all Coaches postgame for Division 1 Title games. We had 10 of these 12 Coaches on our show this season, so it should be a relaxed and interesting interview as we get their take on how the games played out. Please take the time to SUBSCRIBE to our channel so you can set a reminder to catch the show. Anyone still following the boards at this phase of the season is either a diehard fan like us or directly involved in theses games through one of the 12 teams. We appreciate those of you who joined us this season. It's been a great year for us and we look forward to an even better 2020 season on the Friday Main Event! 6. Watching some hudl highlights EHS QB will be tough to defend since he’s so elusive. Jackets have defensive speed so it will be interesting to see how this will shake out. QB like that can be dangerous with the RPOs and read options imo. Saw some WR screens that were well blocked. I expect the Cyclones to make plays and I expect the Jacket coaches to adjust and make plays. I expect both teams to have their way at times on both sides of the ball. Neither team can really afford self inflicted mistakes imo. Also......I grew up a Vols fan here in Northern MidTN so .... to Jason Whitten

  14. I promise you, I am as far from a LC fan as you can get. The deal is I’m a fan of teams doing things the right way. I don’t like how GB has gotten this far this season. Plain and simple, THEY WOULD NOT BE HERE IF THEY DIDNT GO OUT AND GET THESE PLAYERS! I don’t want to here about LC getting a player or two. People move. However, 1a teams don’t reload in the positions they need filled. Unless something is up.

  18. We have one of the most loyal and supportive fan bases you will find anywhere. High expectations is part of the job at OR. The fans want to compete for championships. If a coach viewed that as a bad thing or an unrealistic expectation, then OR is clearly not a place where a guy would want to come coach.

  19. 95 of those 100 pages are from 5 posters going back and forth. I think our players and fans enjoyed the atmosphere at NCS last week. You can create an "atmosphere' in other ways than posting on a message board. Did you see how many people USJ brought to the 2011 championship?

  24. August 2nd LC scheduled a scrimmage against this lil school some have heard of...Trousdale Co! I knew when I left we were going to state....that’s been a long time ago! I also told AD Mike Moore and SRO JD Snyder that we were going 15-0 back in June! Now I’m no homer I really call it like I see it and basically never pick us...but I’m gonna be right this year! Most like me show a huge amount of respect for the other team and support our team to the fullest! Again, looking so forward to this matchup.

  31. I agree that rules need to be changed. Its odd how every sport makes small rule changes on the national level every single year, yet bodies that govern those sports on the secondary level won't make necessary changes for decades. I don't know if I agree with you on the 1 free transfer for all, as I think that could potentially be taken advantage of, but I believe I would agree with you on most.

  36. I hope everyone is having a good work week. I am excited to make the trip this year to Cookeville. I wish SP was playing but it just was not our year. I have watched Greenback live twice this season and both times been impressed by their QB and passing game. I do not know anything about Lake County but congratulations on making it this far. I believe the Greenback passing game will be too much for them to overcome. Good luck to you and I will see some of you Friday.

  37. Here is one thing for sure. Both teams should be proud to be here. Everyone wants the gold, but there is nothing wrong with silver. You are the last two teams standing, so that is something special and memories that can't be taken away.

  38. That is why we feed ours the opposing Quarterbacks . Grrrr !!! Problem is Springfield's starting Quarterback is kinda small and he is hard to catch. When we catch him and we will, he just won't be enough to satisfy these big fellars. We will need the back up Quarterback also, to fill their little tummies. It is almost food time .

  39. Its been interesting watching the coaches pull back on Coop not run it much this year! Plain N simple for this exact moment in the season !! Cooper throws for 205 in this one and runs for 105 .

  40. Alcoa and the fans don't see this game the same as outsiders. I know for fact Covington was a great matchup for Alcoa in 2017 and 2018. I see no reason that Pearl Cohn will not be a great matchup this year. The one thing I do know is this Alcoa defense is going to be tough to score on!

BlueCross Bowl Central Postseason History on TSSAAsports.com Championship Notes This is Summit High School's first appearance in the state football finals. The team has been to the playoffs each of the last four years but the furthest the team has advanced previously was the quarterfinal round in 2017. Elizabethton will play for its first state championship since the TSSAA playoffs began in 1969. The school has had six seasons end in the semifinal round of the playoffs since 1997 (1997, 1998, 1999, 2009, 2010, 2012). Both Meigs County (1995) and Lake County (1994) are making their first state finals appearance in more than 20 years. McCallie's last visit to the state finals was in 2006. Among this year's finalists, two teams have prior state final appearances but have never left with a championship trophy. This is USJ's sixth finals appearance (1993, 1998, 2000, 2009, 2011, 2019) and the third appearance for Meigs County (1980, 1995, 2019). Davidson Academy has never lost a state championship game (2005, 2006, 2008, 2018). This is the school's fifth appearance in a title match. Alcoa has only lost two state championship games in 19 total appearances (1988, 2014). Evangelical Christian School (ECS) is the only school among the finalists to have advanced to the state championship at least once in each of the past four decades (1983, 1984, 1999, 2000, 2004, 2005, 2006, 2012). With a win Thursday, the school will have also won a state title within that same time span (1983, 1999, 2000, 2005). The last time that the BlueCross Bowl championship games did not include either Maryville or Alcoa was 2003. Including 2019, the two schools have a combined 73 playoff appearances. In those 73 appearances, the teams have advanced to the championship game 44 times. Pearl-Cohn will attempt to end Alcoa's streak of four consecutive Class 3A titles. Pearl-Cohn won back-to-back state titles in 1996 and 1997. The Division II-A Championship will be a rematch of a game earlier this season. Davidson Academy defeated USJ (21-12) on Oct. 11, 2019 in Nashville. The only other meeting between the two teams since 1993 was in the 2009 playoffs when USJ eliminated DA from the postseason, 16-13. The Division II-AA Championship will be a rematch of a game earlier this season. ECS defeated CPA 30-6 in the first week of the 2019 season. This is the fourth gridiron meeting between the schools since 1993. ECS leads the series 3-0. MBA is 22-2 against McCallie since 1993. McCallie's two wins came in 2001 and 2006 and both games were won with a score of 34-21. Maryville and Ravenwood met in the 2014 and 2015 Class 6A Championships. Maryville won the 2014 meeting in overtime (35-34) and Ravenwood won in 2015 (26-17). 43. This is one of those games where it's hard for me to imagine either team losing. Someone obviously will. Pearl has been underdogs on several occasions this year and answered the bell every time. They'll play with Alcoa in my opinion but need a couple lucky bounces to go their way in order to pull off the W. Hoping both teams bring their A-game so we can see a war!

  44. Springfield fan here, not saying you brought it up, but I don't this thread to turn into one of those "privates vs public" types of threads, not saying anyone is private, just an example, so Jacket's fans knock off the Carter co bs, there are no excuses, if they beat us it's because they were the better team and we will congratulate them and I trust they will do the same for us if we win. Congrats to both teams and let's both enjoy the process!

  45. Dearest Mother- By the time you receive this letter I'll be well on my way northeast to The Tribe of Many Nations. You'll be pleased to know Captain Victory and his Band of Pirates were able to declaw and cage the Blue Tiger from the northern territory of Gordonsville. We were able to defend the Beene but now the battle for supremacy lies in enemy territory. That territory belongs to the Cherokees, led by Chief Ryan himself. Rumored to be a distant relative of Irene. These Cherokees have members from every tribe known to man. Amongst them are Bears from Tellico, Eagles from Seymour, TinHeads from Alcoa, and even Red Rebels from Mairvul. Thus, The Tribe of Many Nations. There could be others by the time we enter therein. If one were to seriously think about it, they'd come to the same conclusion as others; This being a Tribe that has been assembled, possibly hand picked for the sole purpose of taking down Captain Victory and his Band of Pirates. Well, I must confess Sweet Mother of mine, your youngest son, who is of sound mind and strong body, could never and would never abandon his comrades. No how, no way. Therefore we march on. Therefore we will make battle with this assembly of Nations. For we are the Mighty Pirates of South Pittsburg. And any nation or house that is divided shall not stand but most assuredly shall fall. And I can attest to all that our House is undivided. For we are led by the one and only Captain Victory. Under his command we march on and battle on for supremacy. Under this flag and this flag only do we stand side by side. We will never forsake our Captain, our House our Flag or one another to join some other outfit. We know who we are, what our cause is, and it's unwavering. So I beseech the folks of the many nations to take heed. Yes, take heed and run for cover. Hide thyself. For you have assembled unto yourself a tribe seeking gold. A tribe seeking gold to make thyself a Golden Goat to worship. So run. Yes, run into the Little Tennessee River. Run headlong into the waters and dip yourself. Yes, dip and wash yourself clean. Wash yourself clean from this Golden Goat worshiping so that you may be spared. For our Pirate Ships approach. They approach with great speed. And with them comes every Pirate past present and future. We are the Mighty Pirates of South Pittsburg. We are coming. It's coming. With us or against us. The Captain is with me and I am one with The Captain. Love to All- Sgt Southtowner
