Whether they can or can't really isn't the issue. What is important is they are actually willing to go and attempt to step on the mat with the best in the country.

I've defended him in the past , but this is just getting ridiculous . When he talks to his kids about dedication and Loyalty ... do they just laugh or what ? I fully understand doing what's best for your family but how in the world could this musical chairs coaching carousel be good for the Family or the communities involved ?

Whenever the subject comes up I always want Maryville to be involved in a game with an out of state team. Why??? Because I want the Tennessee team to win and Maryville is often the team with the best chance to do it. It is a respect thing to Maryville. I would rather see Oak Ridge step up but the Rebels are just better than the Wildcats right now.

Thanks Bobcat. i know Coach Rosser from his days at OR, he was my sons 4th grade teacher at Glenwood Elementary. My son absolutely loved him, he really helped him after a rough 3rd grade year. He still thinks the world of Coach Rosser, even though he graduated this year. He was always there whenever he needed him. He was also a very good coach under Scott Blade while here. I have always wished that we had a true leader like him here at OR since Blade left. I agree with you about the assistants here at OR, they could do a lot better. Congrats on a great season this year, and I look forward to next year.

The state of TN might win one of those matchups (McCallie). The rest would be blowouts not in favor of the Volunteer State

I wonder if Maryville and Alcoa scheduled the Tennessee Titans in Nashville if other high schools would finally stop with the...."They don't play anyone, they should schedule ___________ school in __(fill in state)___________" . Answer is no. They would still complain. I can hear them now. "Alcoa and Maryville still don't play good teams from other states" or "Well, the Titans have never won a Super bowl so the Tornadoes and Rebs are still avoiding competition." LOL

I understand what your saying, but it’s not as easy as you think. I’m close to Coach Rosser and our team and the amount of work that goes in to what we do from our players and coaches is actually quite astonishing. It begins in the off-season with our strength and conditioning and a big part is having kids who are willing to sacrifice other activities and willing to go the extra mile to be better from Fr to Sr’s. Then during our season, I’ve said it before but NO coaching staff outworks ours. We have a good balance in young upcoming coaches and older veterans. We do things that other schools don’t and can’t do in week to week preparation for games. Oak Ridge has a great tradition and good players, but it doesn’t help when a school right down the road is winning 10 plus games a year in a much easier class. Gaddis is a great coach, maybe needs more from his assistants, but he is a legend. I think OR will be good next year, I’m just tired of all the rumors floating around that I know aren’t happening. Not a single person has made that claim, Rasslinking. They probably would not be favored to win a single match. If fact, it's probably unlikely any kid in TN would be favored. McCallie(2), CBHS(1), Baylor(2), and FR(2) all have kids that wrestled for other high schools. I think you are over overreacting. Perhaps a TN team should try to get ranked in the top 50 before beating the best two teams in the country. If you were hired at McCallie as the head coach, and they didn't have an elementary school, where would you get all of you wrestlers? You know that kids are not zoned to go to private schools, correct? Would you talk a bunch of 8th graders out for wrestling and win the state a couple years later?

That hold on the linebacker should have negated that touchdown run. This is bullcrap. These referees should b suspended for missing an obvious call

Small town football is the best. Sweet taste of victory or sour taste of defeat just means more in small communities.

1. I agree. I think Hampton would be a good matchup for Mitchell and Heritage. Avery is still a couple years away. 2. Who are you kidding? You and pops are not happy about Etown having that gold ball. 3. I agree. We all need to build up our own programs, not only for keeping our own kids but maybe a few athletes will come from outside. If its anyone other than parents pushing the kids to leave, then yes, they should be called out. In the end, parents do what is best for their kids. 4. Baylor is really going to in really tough for anyone to beat this year. Once Manilla and Alvarez drop after Christmas, that will allow them to put Gunnar Garriques at 70 so they will be much stronger at those 3 weights. Baylor’s only weak spots are 20,26, 45 and Hwt which are the 4 weights they lost to against Bradley. Baylor is really hard to beat at all of the rest of their weights. Baylor lost 20 against Bradley since Bond isn’t quite big enough to beat really good 20’s but against most teams they will still win 13 and pickup points at 20 by bumping up Bond.

You do realize Ty is rated top 5 “dual threat” QB? He is there to throw & run, and I think he was the second leading rusher on WHS. Coach Simpson could be very valuable in landing a coach & educating a coach, he is a Div1 head football coach. WHS coaches would be dumb to not use the knowledge available at UTM. But make no mistake, WHS is a Weakley Co school, Simpson works for UTM. Weakley Co will have to ok the hire, not Simpson.

I agree with Maryville, they will be tough down the road. Really wasn't expecting that close of a game with Bearden with how Bearden's record looks. But with that being said, Bearden has played some very good teams this year unlike many other Knoxville teams. For example, Farragut started 7-0 but now have lost 3 straight. They haven't played anybody. I predict their 4th straight loss in a blowout against Bearden tomorrow. As mentioned earlier, Maryville should continue to improve. Totally disagree with Farragut being the team to beat. If they can't beat Heritage, how do they stand a chance against Maryville or Bearden? Hardin Valley may sneak up on some teams this year. Lenoir City is Lenoir City. William Blount stands a chance with their typical shooters. West is down which is odd to me. Still think Bearden finishes 2nd in the league. Will be really fun to see how it all pans out.

WV is a very good program. However, their girls program would gain nothing by beating any of the other county schools. It’s a lose/lose situation. If they beat Greenfield, Gleason, or Dresden they will be told they should that they are bigger school. If they lose that really don’t look good either getting beat by a single A school. I honestly don’t know if Westview would get out of Region in Single A around here. Greenfield, Gibson Co., Dresden, and Gleason would give them fits. However I’d pay too see each team play them. The gate would be great for everyone. Now the boys games would be bad for those same schools, probably another reason they don’t play.

Here is a list of coaches that Carter should contact mckamey ,Ellison, the RB coach from Carson Newman, OC or DC from West. Craney from Central, OC from South Doyle. Anyone of them would be good for them. Has good mix of first time head coaches so they will be excited about staying and veteran head coaches who were let go to soon
