  1. Some interesting facts about the game to assist the discussion. Bradley's score by quarter. 1st-36 2nd-22 3rd-28 4th-14 The score at halftime was 58-6 and at the end of 3 quarters 86-9. Bradley's regular rotation players played through 3 quarters while mainly freshmen and sophomores played the final quarter. Bradley forced 45 turnovers while scoring 69 points off of the turnovers. The scores of their last 3 games are Ooltewah 92-18 Soddy 80-19 Marion 100-14 Unfortunately they are just that much better than these opponents. It does neither team any good to play games like this.

  2. Just go on and move to West Carroll you can get the coach and if you want to be a big fish in a little pond. Westview to West Carroll sounds like a winner to me

  3. I have read all these posts and would just say that teams like Bradley have trouble even getting non district games! Probably should not have played but do you expect them to play just 20 games. Soddy and ooltewah were district games . I know for a fact that many schools would not play Bradley. I mean they have played 5 defending state champs and then #1 bearden and previous #1 Farragut. Ensworth came to Bradley and won as did Blackman and I think those will be replayed next year at different locations. I feel for Marion but running clock was used! We were down one starter but when you play you have to play hard or better off not playing. It was tough but some of the complainers need to step up and schedule Bradley and show them how to play!!

  4. Marion Co. plays in the worst District in the state 7AA and is certainly not as good as their record indicates. I watch these teams regularly and several mid level class A teams could win this district with ease. Look at Cumberland’s out of district scores and compare them to their district wins. Marion is racking up wins vs bad teams they are currently in 2nd place behind Cumberland that beat them 71-29. Now to the issue of running up the score there is supposed to be a running clock, and teams can ask not to play the 2nd half or 4th qtr. Bradley’s JV/freshman/jr high teams are probably better than Marion. It was probably scheduled as a boys showdown more than anything.

  5. Actually know more than I really want to tell because it wouldn't be very hard to figure out who told me for a few people on here.

  6. I don't know much about this game but I do know that most of the time when this happens the bench players have to score ALOT of points. We had similar games with Jackson Co. last year where our bench played 3 qtrs of the game. But I remember that we specifically did not go over 100 on purpose. I guess that is showing them mercy but the final score was just a difference of talent level that you really can't control. When your bench players get in the game, how do you not want them to have success? Scores like this should only happen when teams are just that over matched. I think the game should have never been played especially with BC coming of state championship. But I don't blame it on BC. Its more on the Marion coach in my opinion. You have to know what your team is capable of and if you aren't capable of scoring 40 on the defending AAA state champs then you probably shouldn't schedule that game. Take a look at Valor Collegiate scores. I mean some teams are just that bad.

  7. Yea, there's an elementary school that's separate (k-6) Nice to be able to pull up 8th graders but sucks to have to share that little gym wth MS basketball. Makes it real tough to sched gym times when 4 teams have to share it.

  9. Man I don’t even know what to say, but I guess that’s what you want. You call someone a liberal hack and reference MSNBC and CNN, yet you started this thread like the Bearettes did something wrong. That seems like the Democratic mentality to me. They played a game and won. Had Reuter kept the starters in and pressed longer the score would have been MUCH higher. As for things to make the game shorter there were multiple possessions with multiple passes as well as missed Bearette shots. I didn’t leave the Jim that night thinking we had accomplished some great feat, and I can assure you that Reuter didn’t either. Unfortunately that was the competition we had for the night and that was the result. The times that the team went into multiple passing mode the defense was aggressively on them playing hard defense. Maybe you would prefer our girls just turn the ball over and fold. BUT that’s not our mentality. We didn’t cry when Westlake pounded us in Naples. We simply went back to work and beat #6 nationally Tampa Tech the next game. That’s how it works. If I had to guess I’d say that sometime in the past the Bearettes stomped you and you are just angry and bitter.

  10. Region 1, in my opinion, Science Hill will probably take it. The other finalist will be between Jefferson County and Dobyns-Bennett. Jeff County and D-B have already played once at Jeff County with Jeff County winning by 15 or so. They play again in Kingsport a week from Saturday. With the region being played in Morristown, I give Jeff County the edge to be runner up. Science Hill is the best team I have seen personally so far though and should win the region. Sleepers could be Daniel Boone and David Crockett. Crockett took Science Hill to double OT at their place before losing.

  14. I’m trying to figure out why a school like Marion Co that’s not known for good girls basketball, would schedule Bradley.

  16. The problem was your first comment to him. You stated "Maryville and those schools are not big at all but I guess they are compared to the bubble you live in" when rlh never said Maryville was big and just that there are a lot more schools in FL the size of Maryville, Powell, Greeneville, etc. than the actually Massive high Schools in 7a and 8a in FL. You had to throw in a jab of "Compared to the bubble you live in". Didn't sound like you were on the same side with your back handed comment......

  18. Just like society... the folks who actually do the work hardly get any credit. There used to be a "Mr. Football" award for linemen, but who wants to waste an award on those not in the limelight? Sad, but true.

  19. I know "everybody gets a trophy" but what kind of all-state team has 4 QBs, 4 RBs, 4WRs, 8 ATHs and only 5 OL? Seems odd. I guess they don't care about the big boys' feelings.

  20. USJ announced Clayton Gant as the new baseball coach today. Gant had a great pitching career at USJ, going 55-3 as a starter and was selected 4x All State, before going on to pitch at UT Knoxville and University of Memphis. He has spent the last 7-8 years as a college assistant coach, first at Union here in Jackson, followed by Oklahoma Wesleyan. He is leaving his current position as Assistant Head Coach at OKWU to return to Jackson and take the reins of the USJ program. Spencer Nelson and Ronnie Giddens both have great working relationships with Gant and both will remain as assistants on his staff. Gant knows the game well and has a nice coaching resume to be only 30 years old. He is familiar with USJ and with the overall baseball landscape of West TN, so I would expect the adjustment to be a relatively simple one. Continuity with the assistant coaches will help even more with the transition. The players all met with him today and the ones I have spoken with really liked him.

  21. Chloe Moore plays PG for Single A Greenfield and is a great basketball player. She doesn't turn the ball over, very un-selfish, can take it to the rim, can post up in the paint, can shoot the three and the most important thing is she can take over a game in crunch time. Greenfield is loaded with talent but she is the glue to the team, IMO.

  22. b/c people like your wife who control county administration of the school system don't support county athletics or student athletes AT ALL so no one comes out for football or your dumb wrestling team either. compare that to the system you mentioned, Aloca, who FULLY supports their athletic programs and student athletes, and thus you see why the HUGE discrepancy in athletic achievement comparatively between the two systems exists. weird how that works, isn't it.
