  1. I am not arguing it. I WAS THERE!! I know who voted for who, YOU WERE NOT THERE!! So quit reading headlines and trying to stir something up that you do not know about. I would be more than happy to sit with you sometime, have some cold beverages and explain everything.

  2. It was not unanimous because Coach Reuter did not vote for himself, everyone else voted for him. I have noticed your strong hatred towards Coach Williams so I have decided to set up a fundraiser here at East Hamilton. It will be a steel cage, loser leave town match. Coach Tony Williams vs bleedblackandgold (we don’t know your real name as you keep a hidden identity). Are you willing to help out the fine people over here at East Hamilton and take part in this event?

  4. They will never realign due to strength or lack of strength , however I agree because regions 2 and 3 are too small. I’m in R3. As far as forfeits, the vast majority of forfeits are due to not having a kid in wt class, and it is definitely not from coaches not trying to recruit those weights, so penalizing forfeits is not the answer.

  5. Big milestone. First home loss for UHS girls since 12/15 52 straight wins. Not sure a lot of programs can lay claim to that. Heck of a job UHS!

  6. If Macon’s coach keeps playing keep away and stall ball, Upperman will win one of these late matchups. He needs to let his horses run and go.

  7. The real need and push is for ALL schools to push get approved for TMSAA Teams. The teams regulated by the schools and have parents to push for this to happen. Then you have youth programs feeding into feeder schools Middle Schools to the High Schools.

  9. If you are truly a Grandpa it is really sad that you come on a message board and continue to throw shade at children. One thing that always amazes me is how people try to elevate their own by tearing down others. Bradley is a great basketball program with arguably the richest tradition in the whole state. You have an axe to grind with this coach because he challenges your tradition and your dominance. He took over a two win program and in four years is competing with the best teams in the state. Williams is not perfect but the results are definitely trending upward for the Cleveland girls program. You made a comment earlier about him stealing your players. Did it occur to you that the young lady was a Cleveland kid from the beginning and might have never wanted to even be at Bradley? I am personally glad to have a coach that your people don't like. It means he is doing something right.

  10. Bitter, no not all because i know how it works around her when it comes to girls basketball in West Tn. In fact, Q Miller doesnt even have to be included, if thats the case and my opinion still remains the same. And some people may not and some may not and excuse me, summer, fall offseason, regular season, whatever I have been around her enough off the court and seen her enough on the court, for a fact, to know exactly what i have seen and heard to know that its not a shot at a kid its fact whether you like it, believe it or agree with it. I know people all over this state and area and trust me, I am not the only one with this opinion. And there's nothing wrong with "the best players" playing on "the best AAU teams" or having D1 offers, i wish people would just make sure that "the best" is just that. Many people forget this is a place to post what they think, what they feel about things and their own personal opinion about sports, players, coaches, schools, teams, players and etc... So, for people t get on here and say somebody is taking a shot at somebody, and it hasnt only been you, that's not the case. I give credit where credit is due at all times. And yes, you know me and i know and you know i'm going to call it just like i see it. I played and coached on every level except the pros so I know this game and I know talent just like you do, so i'm not new to this by a long shot. Nothing personal toward anybody, but im not going to pacify anybody either

  11. Recent finalists Taylor Lamb and Braelyn Wykle come from a storied program, but they both added to the "story" by leading South Greene to state titles in 2016 and 2017. My pick this year was Tori Rutherford from Grainger County. Grainger made it to state last year, but lost in the first round. This year Grainger has an excellent shot to get there again. So, if Grainger makes a run in Murfreesboro and maybe even wins the AA title this year, then their program will gain real bona fides. Rutherford is a junior and should get more recognition next year. She is a fine player fortunate enough to have some fine teammates. If you were to ask any of these players, their preference would be that their respective team win the title—personal accomplishments take a back seat. The committee has a difficult job rating individual players. It's natural that they put a certain amount of weight on a player's individual success and, possibly, an equal amount on the success of their team. Wykle is playing lights out at Carson-Newman and starting as a Freshman. I predict she will someday be an All American. There is life after high school basketball.

  12. I know people are saying this will be close but I just don't see it. I like Upperman's game but this is a matchup problem for Upperman. I think that Macon will have to play bad for this not to be a 15-20 pt game. Upperman is a really good team but Macon defense is just that much better. And then you have Carter and Gregory. If Shoulders locks down UHS PG it will be hard for UHS to keep this one under double digits.

  13. Yes, I was surprised at the crowd you guys brought to Fairview Elementary. As far as Region 2, Halls has the dominant program there and will have for as long as they stay in the current set up. Not sure if you guys or Sevier County have enough to overtake them based on the youth talent. Region 3 should be a Heritage-Maryville battle for the next 5+ years. None of the Knoxville teams in that region have strong youth feeders and William Blount's strongest kids are on their elementary team.

  14. After a while everyone gets their fill. Where were you or anyone else for that matter that didn't say anything or much of anything when folks piled on SP for getting a transfer or two through the years since this website came on line? And I'll tell you like I have BPM, what makes you think I haven't spoken to those in question? Seriously? I asked BPM to walk away from it. Posted it here on this website. Since he has 'Big' as part of his profile name I quipped he must not be that Big afterall to walk away. He thought I was calling his 'moral compass' into question. Never was my intention. He and I have spoke on the matter. Yall continue what your doing. Both sides. Have at it.

  16. Idk if i agree with this statement. 14AA is not that great aside of South Side. I think they still are top 4 without her. The issue I have with this nomination in AA is, as I have stated on another post, I have seen 3 other players in AA the last few years with way better stats and way better character and not be pushed as much as I have seen her pushed this year. I hate that media and whoever else has a hand in this only seems to push the kids who have signed D1 or play on a "big name" AAU team. I question her character after seeing some of her actions this summer and and in a couple regular season games.

  17. Karly Weathers blows this mindset apart in Single A. She plays for her small town, and Loretto wouldn't even be a ranked team without her. Single A is spot on. There are no better A players in the state than Tess, Chloe, and Karly.

  18. I'm saying, if there is a kid good enough to be considered for Miss Basketball, then she should make that team one of the best teams in the state in its classification.

  19. I put more faith in the Coaches Poll that Tim puts out, versus the AP Poll. Are AP voters the same people voting on these state awards? It is darn near impossible to see all of these high school players and teams. I think the coaches see more players and teams than the media representatives do, with the exception of a small handful. I think media voters probably have sports that they pay more attention to. Coaches are focused specifically on that sport. Local media has to cover both boys and girls hoops, finish football season, look forward to baseball/softball, and cover soccer and everything else. I have a ton of respect for them, but is this a flawed system? I think it is.

  20. I think they got it wrong as well....and I hope that we are given a chance to show the validate that to the rest of the state....in Murfreesboro very soon.

  21. My opinion.... I think if you're going to be a Miss Basketball finalist, you should absolutely be on one of the best teams in the state with an exception here and there. And if your team isn't one of the best teams in the state, you better be putting up big time numbers. Not everyone can get a trophy here, and the finalist mentioned are worthy. Are there some other players who could replace one of the finalist, sure.... but only 3 are mentioned as finalist. One thing that I will agree with that Quatrefoil mentioned is the character of the player and the way things are done within that player's success. I will agree with that...

  22. I don't think an argument can be made against any of the finalists. There are definitely other young ladies that deserve recognition but I would not take any of the current finalists off the list. I could certainly get on board with adding two more finalists in every class. Recognizing five finalists rather than three would not have any negative outcome.

  23. Absolutely, not taking anything away from the girls. They are all good players. However, I know for a fact there are 5+ girls in East Tennessee more skilled, better players and just absolutely upstanding young women who were left off these lists. (And that’s just this area). Because they don’t play in storied program? On the best team? Their coaches don’t kiss enough butt? Frustrating, to say the least.

  24. I lost respect for the committee when Heather Butler of GC, who is the all time point leader in the OVC, didn’t win the award. She went 70-1 and won back to back AA state championships. For the record, I think they got the three girls right in single A.

  25. Do you really think Blair would get it when she isn't even on the team? The coach has to nominate them- no way Reuter would do that and disgrace his dedicated PLAYERS????

  28. The NFHS went to 14 weight classifications several years ago. A small group of the larger wrestling states have run the numbers and made the suggestion that wrestling return to 12 weight classifications. When states like PA and Oklahoma are having issues with forfeits the problem is real. I am in agreement that 12 weight classifications if spread out would be enough and it would assist with weight cutting at the high school level.

  29. Osteen is an excellent young Coach. Sophomore QB started every game this year and looked to mature as the season progressed. They'll have a say in region 4 this year.
    1 point
  30. I will agree. Osteen and MC always seem to find those kids that continuously get them to the playoffs. I believe it was just 2 years ago that they really did not have a great regular season but still ended up in the 2nd round of the playoffs, pretty close to making the 3rd round.

  34. Not a waste as it determines seeding for region tournament. I do think only top 4 regular season finosher should qualify for district tournamemt however with no byes and 4 playing 1 and 3 playing 2 just for seeding purposes for region. Top 64 team in state (top 4 in each of the 16 districts, based on how they finished in district, play a district tourney at the location of whoever won the regular season), then for the region tourney still 64 teams just potentially different seedings. Still have 1st round at whoever finished 1st and 2nd in district tourney (#3 d1 @#2d2, #4 d1@#1d2) etc...BUT then the highest remaining seeds would then host the region semis. If it is both 1 and 2 seeds left #1 hosts #2 etc. Region finals would be hosted by highest remaining seed left in that region. If its 2 #1s then play at a neutral site close to both schools. Like if its bradley and stone both district tourney winners then play at a school location between both schools. If it is 2 teams fromsame region then higher seed shoukd get to host. In a nutshell if a team gets eliminated they should not get to host any games. Finally for substate (sectional) ,sweet 16, have all the region tourney winners host (like they do now) except make it random, instead of region 3 winner always hosting runner up in region 4 etc. Have the draw like they do for state tournament. Completely random opppnent, could be #1r3 hosting #2r7 etc. Or have regions 1-4 winners hosting runner ups in regions 5-8 or even somethong lile winner r1 hosts #2region 4 #1r2 hosting #2region3 etc. For the elite 8 insteas of Murfreesboro have a draw for the 4 locations that will host between remaining teams. Them have final 4 and best id 3 title game st the glass house. Thats just my thoughts though

  37. Nope, not trying to ride the fence at all. Really don’t see the point in debating and trying to rank 4 really good players in our area that all have bright futures. I doubt any of these 4 kids even care if they are called “ the best “. They seem to all be great kids trying to win games. Like I stated, they all are strong in different areas which has led to much success for all. I do think some D 2 school will be very excited to get the twins. They will play at the next level and they will have success past high school. As for Capps, I have not seen many 6’2 girls that have great footwork in the paint and also qualify as one of most effective three point shooters in the state. I am certain Gardner Web is happy to get her and has big plans for her. And you are 100% correct , Miller has a very high ceiling due to her athleticism. I hope you are right and I hope she goes to Belmont and leaves her mark. To play at the next level is awesome, no matter the level. Let’s celebrate the fact that all these girls are great players. And like I said - I think all the comparing and trying to rank is only for adult ego and pride. I see success in the future for all 4 of these young ladies.

  38. The New Word of the Day at William Blount was Wheelchair. At last Night's County Budget Committee Meeting they were approached by a very large number of players ,fans and parents and quickly decided that Wheelchair $400,000.00 with each school for new football rooms.

  40. General, didn't you announce your retirement from CoachT like 3 months ago?

  41. You're VERY wrong about this. There may be some small schools like that but most of us get ZERO money from the school system and use all of the money made at gates and concessions to pay officials, buy unis , balls and other equipment necessary just to keep the program going, and at the end of the season after our largest fundraiser and all the bills are paid if we still have ANY money in the account it has been a good season! You are correct in saying most disagreements are with the small schools however. Most rules and regulations are legislated by members of larger schools and work more in favor of larger schools. While that is frustrating I understand why...majority rules is as fair as you can make it.

  43. Bet you're a blast to be around. "I'll know before everyone else because I'm special." "Wrong" "Wrong" Rubs better than average hire in face. Humility goes a long way. Wasn't as good as I was expecting for Goodpasture considering the names thrown out, and of those that turned it down. Maybe he can get the program turned around. Not sure if I care anymore though if it's people like you and RP representing the school.
