  1. This post has prompted me to come out of hiding. SP does more for the kids than any program in the Chattanooga area not named Baylor and McCallie. Go ask Stephen Hargis as I am sure he can tell you plenty of horrific stories of how other Chattanooga area schools operate. Many schools have football fees that parents have to pay for their kids to play while other schools have to try to re brand the program and come up with gimmick slogans just to try and get some hype. Majority of schools take Cheddar Cheese school buses and have to purchase their own gear. Our kids get 2 pairs of new cleats a year, gloves, under armor from head to toe for both practice and games along with a new Players Lounge this past year with big screen TVs and PS4 gaming consoles. IT WILL ALWAYS BE ABOUT THE KIDS FIRST AND FOREMOST! Most people have no clue what all is done for our kids that no other program does but I can promise you they will understand when they leave. When a kid no longer cares about winning as a TEAM then he simply does NOT need to be here. This is not me venting this is just the facts. As far as Beene leaving well he was just sold a Kia and was promised a Porsche. The used car salesman down the road has been actively coming after several of our kids since December. A lot of promises with zero substance. He is NOT alone as a Volunteer assistant up the road has been just as actively coming after these same few kids since December. When a kid on our team wants to go play for a team that went 2-8 or 3-7 because of coaches promising that they are SEC players when their measurements are 5-8 160 and run a 4.9 then all I can say is don't let the door hit you in the butt on the way out. When the parents are not smart enough to see through all that garbage then it comes down to it being the blind leading the blind! That has been the biggest issue for the past 10-15 years that SP has had to deal with. Just because a kid don't get a SEC offer doesn't mean they dont get the opportunity to go get a paid education and play ball at a small college. We will NEVER lie to kids and tell them something the are not. Beene could've been up for Mr Football this upcoming season in 1A and been a part of one of the best if not the best LB groups in 1A but was looking for greener pastures. Wish nothing but the best for the kid but SP will still be SP with him or without! Meanwhile NJ will be lucky to win 7 games this year and will not go past the 2nd round. I encourage any players that leave here to bring their new coach can come watch us play in Cookeville come December.

  2. Yeah, that's the first time a GB and SP debate ever hijacked a thread....

  3. Jada Harrison had 26 tonight and is definitely starting to get in the groove and get the feel of high school ball. She is going to be fun to watch the next three years!

  4. Couldn’t agree more! Coach White is a class act. When he was at RBS he would have went to multiple state tournaments had he not been in the same district as Clarkrange and Jackson County in the early and mid 2000’s all the while coaching at one of the smallest schools in the state! The man can coach. His teams play hard and are always very good defensively. That HAS to be taught. Kids don’t just wake up and know how to play defense. Sounds like someone got their feelings hurt somewhere along the way..... What you’re reading in my posts is respect. He’s earned it and so it’s given.

  5. Madison Hayes is an exception.... arguably the best player in the state, and one of the best that the state has seen in some time. Also, a kid with great character and the definition of a Miss Basketball.

  6. It’s sad to get 50 friends to create a CoachT account just to sell yourself for a vote.

  8. I love it. The legend of Rang grows each and every year. I hear he was in the running for Sparty a few days ago. He had to turn down a few NFL teams last month too.

  9. That's exactly my point. If he hasn't edited this thread, it's like two different people are posting. In a couple of them he can't spell "Chiefs" just to site one instance. In others, everything is grammatically correct...

  10. Regions are at Lexington. Watched McNairy and Lexington other night. If Ltown would have been a hair better on shot selection they win that game. Luxury of a district/region plagued with injuries and youth..... yeah I thought Dburg would “out athelete” them. They go the way KK goes. If her or Newsome has a 20+point night they are hard to beat.

  12. If someone had the time, it would be very nice to have weight class rankings regardless of a kids division. A top 10 of each weight class regardless of AAA A/AA or D2. They wrestle each other throughout the year, and go to the same tournaments. So you think it wouldn't be much more difficult than keeping the rankings separated.

  14. It’s not all about wins and losses. It’s about respect maybe. I don’t know. I’m just as confused about the reason why as you are. I’m just throwing out suggestions and ideas. Ultimately though, it’s about the kids. Maybe that’s been our problem at SP over the last 10 years. Maybe we have gotten away from it being more about the kids and their futures instead of about wins and losses. Just keeping it real as Tyrone Biggums always said.

  15. just my opinion. someone in tennessee needs to start a wrestling website similar to sewresting. no bias to big school or small school or private school just about the kids. small school and private school r backburner or left out completely of pintn and therefor it should be called pintn big school. there is nothing about private or small school unless someone else does it. not complaining but lets stop looking at this website for all rankings if its only interest is big school. just my opinion.and yes there is much time and effort given to big school no complaints there just needs to be an equal amount given to other divisions unless we are trying to shrink the numbers instead of grow them.

  16. Carter has taken her team to state every year in the brutal 8AA district, she is more than deserving. Hurst plays AAU ball with both Penland and Rutherford. I would venture to say they all are happy for each other. Heck private message thier east tenn AAU coach you probably can go watch them practice together in few weeks, and you can satisfy your appetite. and you also will get to see Fritz, AAA finalist..

  17. Absolutely. Folkstyle should be ILLEGAL after the state tourney until next season Oct. Change things up rules n styles to prevent burnout and get opportunity to face different competitors in state, Regions and Nationally.

  18. If you are truly a Grandpa it is really sad that you come on a message board and continue to throw shade at children. One thing that always amazes me is how people try to elevate their own by tearing down others. Bradley is a great basketball program with arguably the richest tradition in the whole state. You have an axe to grind with this coach because he challenges your tradition and your dominance. He took over a two win program and in four years is competing with the best teams in the state. Williams is not perfect but the results are definitely trending upward for the Cleveland girls program. You made a comment earlier about him stealing your players. Did it occur to you that the young lady was a Cleveland kid from the beginning and might have never wanted to even be at Bradley? I am personally glad to have a coach that your people don't like. It means he is doing something right.

  19. Karly Weathers blows this mindset apart in Single A. She plays for her small town, and Loretto wouldn't even be a ranked team without her. Single A is spot on. There are no better A players in the state than Tess, Chloe, and Karly.

  20. I'm saying, if there is a kid good enough to be considered for Miss Basketball, then she should make that team one of the best teams in the state in its classification.

  21. This statement furthers the transfer epidemic. If I’m good and want to be the best in the state I need to go where I’ll have a good supporting cast, not my hometown...

  22. My opinion.... I think if you're going to be a Miss Basketball finalist, you should absolutely be on one of the best teams in the state with an exception here and there. And if your team isn't one of the best teams in the state, you better be putting up big time numbers. Not everyone can get a trophy here, and the finalist mentioned are worthy. Are there some other players who could replace one of the finalist, sure.... but only 3 are mentioned as finalist. One thing that I will agree with that Quatrefoil mentioned is the character of the player and the way things are done within that player's success. I will agree with that...

  23. I don't think an argument can be made against any of the finalists. There are definitely other young ladies that deserve recognition but I would not take any of the current finalists off the list. I could certainly get on board with adding two more finalists in every class. Recognizing five finalists rather than three would not have any negative outcome.

  24. I'd like to see some light at the end of the tunnel so I can have hope that a lot of this mess goes away or dies down somewhat. It's time for a lot of folks to get some new material.

  25. Osteen is an excellent young Coach. Sophomore QB started every game this year and looked to mature as the season progressed. They'll have a say in region 4 this year.

  28. And your coach can't coach 4th and short.LAUGH OUT LOUD!!!!He admitted it in that paper.Talked all year about rotating 27 kids on a 60 man roster and went to Greenback and got OUTCOACHED AGAIN by a man with a team who only had 3 kids that rotated with the starting 11!!!!!If you get 20 great players to transfer will it be enough to make up for the coaching delinquencies????

  29. One word, MOTOR! I dont care how good you can score, dribble, rebound, defend, pass, whatever. If you dont have a motor you are not a D1 player, IMO. I go to the state tournament every year and there have been 3 girls that I knew hands down was going to make it at the next level. #1 Crystal Dangerfield-UCONN #2 Rhyne Howard - UK #3 Jamairah Shutes - UofM Yes, there have been more, but I knew without a shadow of a doubt they were going to be good. There are kids committing and signing nowadays that cant, don't or wont even takeover a HS. If you dont standout in. HS game for whatever reason, IMO, your not a D1 player. I played D2 ball and I have seen some guys and girls on the D2 and NAIA Level that would run circles around some of these "D1 players" today, and it's all because of their MOTOR.
