  1. We have played that way all year. We just didn’t make shots we needed. We shot 3-11 from 3 the first half and led the entire half until Bradley scored at the buzzer to take the lead. It was a really good game!

  4. That's the normal ratio of fouls when you play Bradley at their place, which is why I replied, "Can't believe I'm hearing a Bradley fan complaining about the refs. "

  5. Seriously???? We shot 3-11 the first half and led the entire way homer. You shot 28 FT and we shot 8 FT!! The referees were bad like you said but they called 8 fouls on BC the entire game!!! No wonder our coach got a T! We were getting hosed by the zebras. That annoys the crap out of me when you try to trash every team you play. It was a 4pt game with 2 min left! Show some respect. That’s all I have to say about that.

  8. Can't believe I'm hearing a Bradley fan complaining about the refs. McMinn's had the talent all year, but coaching is average at best. If the Lady Cherokees pulled an upset tonight, I doubt they'd make it past round 2.

  11. I think it’s funny this “amateur” told them 6 months ago they were about to lose at least 1 quality player because of “internal issues”. Of course I was making up stuff and didn’t know what I was talking about. Guess I wasn’t the one that didn’t know what I was talking about after all huh. Word is it may not be over yet. Cousin Fred down at the lumber mill says there’s a little more unrest still being sorted. Guess time will tell if more leave this summer.

  12. East Nashville needs some new blood, and it's no better candidate than Damien Harris! Trust me this dude is my brother, he knows football inside and out. Kids will come and play hard for him real talk. So if East wanna turn their program around hire this guy! If not then continue to lose to Pearl Cohn!!!

  14. Coach McNeal does an awesome job year in and year out! He should have won coach of the year again this year imo. He has South Side among the best in the state yet again this year after losing over 3200 points off of last year team(Miller, Transou). Westview definitely has a top tier program! I think he has done awesome, he lost his top player in Currie-Jelks. He not only lost one of the top sophomores in Tennessee, he lost his only returning starter from last year. She is a 20 point 12 rebound a night type of player! If everyone stays healthy look out for South Side next year, Coach McNeal will return his entire starting 5 plus Currie-Jelks will return for her junior year. Coach McNeal will return at lease 12 players with a lot of experience! We are also get a few good 8th graders that can play some next year! Look out 14AA and state of Tennessee!

  18. Clay County who is sitting at home is better than any team in 5A. This is ridiculous. I’d ban this school from post season play for a minimum of 5 years and suspend the coaching staff indefinitely. We now have arrived at “everyone gets a trophy” world and when we don’t we quit. What a great way to live your life!

  19. Yeah I've seen Summertown and was impressed. They remind me of Gibson Co a lot. Not flashy but strong and steady. Fillies are fast and athletic but are prone to not taking care of the ball very well. If the Fillies can handle the press this one will go down to the wire.

  21. Cantrell has been a late season spark without question... the seniors are stepping up and taking care of business also.

  22. Gibson Co is just so well coached. You've got to keep the petal to the medal all night or they're gonna pass you. They're not real flashy but they just keep coming. If you lose focus you're beat!

  24. Lot of hate in this community for sure for a guy who has helped quite a few kids get scholarships. Some facts though that are being overlooked. He did flip Germantown in Class 6A from the abyss to 23-2 his last two seasons- Anyone who thinks it is easy to advance and beat teams like Whitehaven, Memphis Central and yes White Station and Houston twice in one season are ill-informed. He also defeated Whitehaven twice and won two region titles over tehm - anyone else on here can say that? He is 3-0 vs. Henry County which is not easy and as a matter of fact has never lost to a West Tennessee team and is 43-18 as a head coach. If winning the big one is the standard then last time I checked no Haywood coach has done that - even Hookfin.

  26. Gibson County caught them a little in disarray after losing Callins early. I think South Side’s pressure will give South Gibson fits tonight and set up another Westview battle. South Side is always dangerous. If there defense has there A game going they can give Westview a tough game.

  27. Yea I know! Well I looked forward to playing them in the 2nd round! We look forward to the challenge on a neutral court! I seen WV lose to Gibson County and they are very beatable!

  28. South Side has a real chance to go undefeated and win the state tournament. And, they bring a bunch of kids back. They own Jackson and get almost all the hoopers in the city. Until North Side and Liberty get something going in their hoops programs it is going to be South Side and everyone else.

  31. Community is just as big with good guard play. Should be an interesting game. Community has a real shot at making it to state. This is the best team they have ever had.

  33. Cornersville hosted a weight competition this past Tuesday night with Giles county, Lewis county, and Richland also in attendance. There were some STRONG young men in the building. All teams looking very good heading into the spring. Many new personal records set for the bulldogs is my understanding.

  34. Dyersburg can’t not beat Westview! WV got some voodoo or some on Dyersburg & Crockett. They will have the better team sometimes and still lose by 10 or 16.

  37. I wouldn’t say he’s too slow. There are plenty of LBs in the SEC who run 4.55 40s. The only difference is they weigh anywhere from 240-255 Lbs, not 200 like Jacob. Haha. The athletes up there now are just insane with the combination of size and speed that they bring to the table.

  39. Just an outside observation, I've read these Grundy Co threads for years now. It seems y'all have a very passionate bunch but a culture change needs to happen. I think it needs to start with the parents and fans. Usually a culture change starts in the locker room but I just don't see it that way in this situation. If I'm a young talented coach there's no way i even consider Grundy. The guys on the T need to start it you might be the most passionate of the bunch. But no real coach wants to come somewhere where he'll be thrown under the bus after a few games or even be threatened. Time to take a long hard look in the mirror and make some changes of your own if you wany to see this program have any kind of real success.

  40. I hear it was from multiple schools with multiple players from each school and a couple of parents of the players heard it too. It is Hearsay but smoke. At the end of the day it doesn't matter. 5A State Champions were Knox Central. A team doubted early but pulled together and got it done.

  41. An undefeated freshmen team translates to ZERO on the varsity level. Plus, around half of that team isn't even around anymore. As far as the rest of your post goes, it sounds great but this ain't Maryville. But I do hope the Wildcats have a great off season and a very good season next year. I can't wait until it gets here.

  42. Lady Bobcats lose. Typical Lott hold the ball with a lead. Bad passing. CC scores while Bobcats hold and pass ball around. Wild shots and not getting the ball into KWW.

  43. First thing that comes to mind is access to high quality coaching and superior facilities. Then I would add that practice rooms tend to have more and/or better quality practice partners on a day in day out basis than public schools. And then...I would also think that access to higher level competition via travel creates an advantage that most public schools can't compete with. That's just off the top of my head tho.
