Dumb argument. I was at the game and if Loretto hits half their shots, they win by 10. If Greenfield doesn’t shoot 13 more FTs in what was essentially a home game for them, Loretto wins. If that’s game had’ve been at Loretto and Greenfield would’ve travelled three hours, Loretto wins. If McBee wasn’t playing her first game back for Loretto and was full speed, Loretto wins. See how that works? That “if” crap nullifies any argument. It stood to be a great tournament but I don’t see them playing anymore. Hate it for all the players involved.

#8 will have special plays under center, but will not be the starting QB. #8 and #1 will continue where they left off in the championship game! #8's move mid-season on defense made a great defense unreal. #8 was MVP of the championship game for a reason! Alcoa can not go back to throwing less than 5 times a game like they did in 2019 against Maryville. With a balanced offensive attack with 10+ passes, and Alcoa's defense it is a different ballgame: Why yes, Alcoa can throw the football!

Great life lesson to be taught. You cant take away the hard work the kids put in to put themselves in to able to go to state. Each school can honor those teams with a state finalist banner that will forever be hung in the gym. Many people woke up today without a job...there is more to life than playing for championships. Majority of the Seniors in Tennessee high schools will never play for any type of championship, but every SR may lose their graduation, lose Prom, Senior trip etc.

No you did not ask for it. But you can help the kids move past and grow from the situation. Especially if it can’t be played. But no they should not give a trophy to everyone. That is what this thread is.

Amen Trader. At the PGA Players championship that was suspended after 1st round the Leader shot a 63. The purse was split equally and he got 53k. Guess what? All the guys who shot 76, etc got 53k as well. They were real happy! The leader was ticked! This is Socialism at its best! Giving all 4 teams a Gold ball is another example of Socialism. I think they need to play it out. Play at a different location and test(if available) all players and family members that would attend. Keep the crowd low and let those girls go at it and compete! Let all of us watch it on NFHS network and enjoy some great basketball.

If I didnt earn a trophy I would Not want one. I would Be disappointed if I did Not get a chance to earn one for sure. But it is just another lesson that these kids will have to face later in life. Life is not going to reward them just for the sake of being involved. Don’t get me wrong I hate It for not being played out. And I feel The coaches should try to push a system to get it played out. But you don’t hand out trophies.

Dude, I honestly don't think that any of the games should be postponed or cancelled. I still personally think that this virus situation is overblown and mainly stirred up by liberal media and liberal politicians. As a competitor myself, I can understand the frustration felt by all of the teams and fan bases still alive. You are missing my point. Sports teach lessons in life. Sometimes they teach the lessons that you don't want to learn. Sadly, the lesson being taught right now is that life can sometimes be hard and very unfair. It is my hope that the tournament will be restarted in a couple of weeks. Like you, I just don't think that will happen though and everyone is just going to have to accept that fact. At this point, all that you can do is continue to practice until final word is given from the TSSAA. You may not believe it but I do actually feel bad for GC, Greenfield, and all of the other teams that are left hanging. What I do know for sure is that handing out co-state championship trophies is not the answer.

I respect and like your rant but disagree on two points. 1. This blame the media is misguided. Just because you hate the Message doesn't mean you should hate the Messenger. I will admit your negative view about the media is shared by many. 2. I have not made a run on a store yet. I have been praying it isn't needed. However, on Wednesday morning I plan on attacking two stores for cleaning supplies and food supplies to last two weeks. After that, I will remain inside. My trip to the store is a one time deal and not repeated entry and exits from a basketball tournament. The two are not the same. Again, I respect your rant. Just disagree a little. Pray that the Oak Ridge Wildcats get to shine at State but in my mind they are already winners.

If the tournament is not resumed, the TSSAA will not just award for gold balls per class. It is just plain silly to even suggest such a thing. Life is not fair sometimes. You need to learn to deal with it.

That is absolutely nonsense. So the NCAA is handing out championships to all their member schools. Everyone gets a trophy huh?? It's unfortunate but there will be no state champions in basketball this year besides DII.

Thank you WestTnFootball. Greenfield has the best team possibly in the state all classes. Most people who are unbiased will tell you that. Its really an unbelievable team. Gibson County beat Westview at Westview and Greenfield had Gibson County 40-15 at halftime at Gibson County. It ended up 29 but could have been 40 pt game. Union City beat Westview and Greenfield beat Union City by 40 at Union City and the second game against Union City was 56-14 at halftime. So please dont ever say Westview would beat Greenfield this year. They played this summer and Greenfield won easily. I know this new Westview poster is running Greenfield down on every thread. TNSPORTS1234, Hes been a member on Coach T since Monday and just trying to start things on every thread.

I would somewhat agree. I haven't seen Macon County. I may have picked Westview. Without seeing Macon County that just a guess, since GC played Westview. Westview is good.

I don't think they should give any team the title of state champion this year.Its sad for all the teams.Some players and teams may never get this chance again.I personally think Greenfield is the best team in the state but who knows if they'd beat Clarkrange or Loretto on a given day?Dont think its fair to give it to a team based on rankings. Had this happened in football,then Lake Co was ranked 4th all year and proved without a doubt they were the best team in Class A.So I don't think it would be fair based on that.

The problem with Grundy County is Grundy County. You folks care too much which side of the mountain whoever was born on. Then if an outsider comes in your xenophobia cranks up. So there's never an opportunity for authority or leadership to really get things done at any level. There are so many talented kids who are leaving the system to attend school in Marion or Coffee or Sequatchie depending on the sport. Yall are the lowest paying county in the state for teachers if my memory serves, but its not as if you're the lowest populated and you only have to support ONE public High School. Grundy can and should be a fantastic place. The potential for a close knit community where the ENTIRE County supports kids is there if yall can stop your clanish tribal squabbling. You have intelligent, kind, generous people at heart who I believe sincerely mean well and want their kids to stay. You have big country kids who aren't afraid of hard work. So why aren't you winning in 3A? Why can't you beat Cannon, Bledsoe, Whitwell, or teams with similar demographics and economic situations? How many Coaches, AD's, Board Members, Local politicians, etc. have yall been through the past 10 years? Why was Coach Bryant fired again? And the saddest part is the kids and parents most capable of improving matters in the future, they are being poached by AAU, Travel baseball, and football coaches in surrounding areas while theyre in the Middle Grades, and attending high school elsewhere. And yall want to fire coaches every 6 months. Yall need stability and continuity, and support the coach you have. He's a good man and a good role model he just needs an offensive coordinator by the looks of it. Stop sending death threats to ya coaches and try not to burn any important buildings down and one day yall might win some ball games.
