I'm prepping for our Region preview show later this month and I'm having a heck of a time picking this region. As usual, I put alot of stock in what you guys have to say. I can make a case for about every team in this region reaching the post season (obviously that can't happen). Fayetteville will be tough, Cornersville is young but talented, Huntland lost a huge cog in their offense, but remain solid. Mt. Pleasant will be very competitive and Richland has came a long way in the last 2 years. Moore County may be the wild card as I love the Coaching hire they made this off season. How do you see this region finishing??

We dont live in Florida. Are we developing a covid 19 magic wand to make it go away? Whats the end game from hiding from it? Better to face it now and get it over with.

I wish they would just proceed like nothing wrong and then make decision off how things are going. Same for school systems . Almost like doing things backwards.

And it’s meaningless headlines like this that stoke the fire and strike fear and panic in people for no reason. Testing was at an all-time high and negative tests were at an all-time high too! No mention of it. Also, the death rate is continuing to drop. It’s younger people who show little to no symptoms who are testing positive in big numbers, which is not bad news whatsoever. The nonsense fear headlines and misinformation has to stop!

I have communicated with Matthew this summer and he seems to be the glue of that bunch from what the 101.5 guys say any way. I would hope that the TSSAA had had previous contact with the governor since we have been in an Executive Order since spring and been in a no contact order all spring and from the reaction of “we were shocked” don’t sound like they were. And that has not done us any favors since basketball is full blast in other states and football seems to be on schedule as well. We don’t need a passive bunch or we will be in trouble. Need an association that are leaders and reassure government that “we got this” as far as giving out guidelines for coaches and AD’s and working with schools moving forward to be able to play. Some times you got to get your hands dirty to make money. It ain’t always just holding your hands out.

Hard to tell how things will pan out with everything going on these days. I still feel like Huntingdon will be tough. This years seniors and Jr’s have played a ton for ball the last few years because starters were out early in most games. Huntingdon should continue to be ranked high if the talent shows up that has come through the middle school ranks and youth squads. The middle school has only lost 2 or 3 games total in the last 6 or 7 years. This season’s freshman were the most size I’ve seen come through in quite a while. Plus there is a new crop of well known Huntingdon last names getting ready to roll through. Some of the schools in rural west TN that I think will be improved over the next few seasons (not necessarily 1a) Milan(new coaching staff, new facilities) Mckenzie(their sophomore class is loaded with athletes. One got offers To Memphis as a freshman) Parsons Riverside(I don’t know where they find these big ole boys in youth and middle school) Martin Westview.

We should make a run in the west this year beings a few teams lost a few seniors. But I still think we are a year away from going to Cookeville for a couple of years in row.

Our elected leaders are weaklings. You'd be hard pressed to find anyone with any backbone at all. You can take an angry mod of 100 screaming idiots with signs to the steps of any city hall in this country and the so called leaders will side with the 100 screaming idiots every single time. I don't know what we'll call it, a civil war or what ever but if this madness continues in a years time it's going to break out. We're within a hair of losing all police protection. For the past 10 years I haven't been able to figure out why everybody was buying so many guns and so much ammunition. I even did the same thing not knowing why I was doing it. It's like people knew it was coming but they didn't know what. Now we know.

Huntingdon is going to take a step backwards but still be OK. We lost a bunch of 3 year starters. Most of this years squad has only played mop-up and JV. That doesn't mean we don't have talent, but it's hard to judge a team that's never performed in prime time. Have a great freshman bunch coming in but you don't win with freshmen. McEwen is going to be a tough out this year. I'd love to travel to play the Bulldogs this year. I love the way you guys play.
