Knowing both coaches like I do, I have a feeling both would be good with it. Powell was scheduled to be at Greeneville, and GP at Hampton. So figure out a site and split the gate. It would be a win/win for both teams, giving each a half gate that they weren't going to have otherwise.2 points

So......Maryville wants to limit Alcoa to 500 tickets. Sad! AND......get this....give themselves 1500 tickets! WOW! This because Maryville wants to limit people due to space? Understand. So, there was talk with Philip Fulmer about having the game at Neyland Stadium. He said the game could be played Thursday, Friday, or Saturday. Mark Packer @rivalrythursday said he would move the game broadcast from WVLT to the CBS affiliate. This could be great financial opportunity for both schools. Especially, since the gate revenue would take a major hit with ticket sales being so limited. With the game at Neyland Stadium people could be spaced out. It would be a great test run for the college football season. Now, ........Maryville DOES NOT want to move the game? Unbelievable! Scared of lil brother?? Worried your home field advantage would be lost?1 point

I'd say we have 61 for the same reason you guys have 69. Summer has a way of weeding kids out. That didn't happen this year.1 point

if they shut football down for a few cases then there want be a season because it is going to happen. if thats the case there want be any classes on school grounds this year as well. we can take all the precautions and do everything right and we will still fail. you have to look at the death rate of our students and i know 1 is to many but thats going to happen anyway even if there is no football or school. if your high risk for heavens sake dont play or even go to school. how many cases of young people do we have and how many have recovered, how many been put in the hospital. if these cases our to high then no way should we be playing.1 point

I don’t understand how or why CCBoE would shut down with the small #’s y’all have in the County. We’re in the “big city” but our positive rate is still less than 1% of the population of the county. I said earlier, we’re running from Big Foot, and I think that was partially wrong to say. Like you’ve stated, the virus is real, but maybe Big Foot is too and that’s why so few people have actually seen him! Every parent of every child (football player or not) should be calling and emailing every board member to express your right to voice your opinion that kids need to be back in school. The deadbeats will be the deadbeats and not do anything, but you guys could get this thing going pretty quick.1 point

So, I have read through all 6 pages of this thread. Some good reading I hear it is easier to deceive somebody, than It is to convince them that they’ve been deceived? Fear is a prisoner and it’s controlling a lot of folks. Perhaps some think they see between the lines/l_i_e_s.?.?. If your interested then watch asap. Things like this are getting hidden/suppressed and not talked about by the _m a i n_s t r e a m_ but why? Do you own research!1 point

A motion also passed that any team not able to play a postseason contest because of COVID-19 would forfeit. Any regular-season games with that scenario would be considered no-contests.1 point

Flu deaths average from 20,000 to 60,000 a season. I believe those numbers are inflated as well to try and get more people to get the vaccine. I believe people have had covid and recovered with no problems, but I do know a few personally that had a rough time with it and I know of one who died that I knew all my life.1 point
-
They quote a different set of # of deaths in every interview, supossedly 160.000, thats alot more than a flu season, they again, I believe nothing they say.1 point

#1 according to whom? To those that want to cause chaos is who. Florida numbers of the virus were inflated by over 90% due to misleading information and lies.....600,000 confirmed cases were of people that were never sick and never took the covid test! Case numbers don't mean crap right now1 point

The Prez stopped most travel to and from China long before it was a problem here. Remember how he was mocked for that? And how Pelosi went to Chinatown in San Francisco and claimed there was no concern? She said, "That’s what we’re trying to do today is to say everything is fine here," Pelosi said. "Come because precautions have been taken. The city is on top of the situation." We're never reminded of those words! And heck, I had no problem with that (to go and do as you usually would). The problem is I believe there were those with the desire for this virus to spread as quickly as possible so they could make an issue of it, put their party supporting Dr in charge of it, shut down the economy, put people out of work all while looking for any issue to cause protests, riots and anarchy....all this is just a bit too much for me to swallow as unscripted or coincidence. See an election is coming soon and they want rid of an administration that's building a legal case of treason against many of them.1 point

My problem with this is ,how on Gods earth did we allow this get out of control all over the world before we or any of them knew we had a problem.Waited until the mountain was on fire and tried to put it out with a bucket of water.1 point

Understand. So pay the expenses and then split what's left. It's not rocket surgery. Both teams were going to have bus bills and meal costs going on the road, anyway. Like the saying goes, it's better to get part of the pie than no pie at all. And I have to believe that both want a 10th game on the schedule, and especially early in the season not knowing how many games they are actually going to play.1 point

Half of the Gate might not cover the game expense with very reduced attendance due to COVID restrictions.1 point

Sounds like this has to do with a lil more than a virus. Looks like the board member that made the motion and the one that seconded it were in cahoots. I also think that's evident so seeing he hadn't been to a meeting in forever. Others just followed suit assuring they didn't make any other board member upset. That's taking a stand ...Some didn't make a stand because they don't have a kid playing at this time. All this started because some won't have a successful season & don't care about practicing, some won't field much of a team, and one just HATES sports all together and has made that clear... so they really don't care at all. I have to wonder, what's the financial gain from federal dollars, to keep kids at home, learning on line? After the American Academy of Pediatrics says to open the schools now, the push is to keep kids away...There's something we're missing here1 point

We park alot of vehicles on the fence and people sit in cars outside of fence to watch also. That will have to be taken into thought.1 point

You are correct from top to bottom. A lot of these young men need sports and school more than school and sports need them. I'm getting just a little sick of this WHOLE MESS.1 point

So it looks like Gatlinburg Pittman is going to lose it's opener with Hampton because of Carter County Schools decision to suspend sports until physical school begins, and the issue won't be revisited until August 20. So how about Powell and GP play on August 21? Should be a very good game, and it would be a nice backstory with Derek Rang coaching against the school that he took to the 5A semis in his first year as a head coach.1 point
-
Don't think so. Pretty sure it's a "no contest ", meaning no winner and no loser. The game has simply been deleted on both team's schedules on the CoachT schedule pages. Both teams are trying to find games for their respective open date weeks. It was a non region game. Really makes no difference how it is reflected in the W/L record.1 point

I think I commented on this on a different thread, but in any case I'm wondering why he would be thinking DB instead of Elizabethton? The Cyclones have a very good chance of winning 4A again this year, and with a guy like that on the team the probability goes off the charts.1 point

They will have to bring the CV police to GB if they think we wont come watch a home game on Fri nights! And our field is one of the nicest looking and best kept grass Fields in East Tn.With the new field house and concession stand the whole area looks great.Visitors stands are not very good,we have been trying since 2015 CA to get the replaced but to no avail.1 point
