  1. Wanted to ask Coach T collectively, to pray for #11 Micah McClendon of Forrest, who was injured last night in the Moore Co game. Injury was related to the spine. Very serious. His surgery took hours, and is apparently finished. Not much is known at this time. We go at it here. We are all competitive. But this is a kid's health and future. The McClendon's, collectively, are responsible for much good in Chapel Hill. Our kids are everything to us. Our own kids, as well as the kids in our communities. Some might criticize, "You live vicariously thru your kids..." I disagree. We love our kids, so we push them to be their best. We want them to be better than us. We want them to avoid the mistakes we made. Athletics, and especially football, teaches our young men how to win, how to push themselves, and how to be part of something bigger than themselves. How to dig deeper than they thought they could. How to bounce back from defeat, and how to get better every day, even in victory. A little about the McClendon family (my best effort, I don't guarantee 100% accuracy): - Tyler was a state wrestling champ 2013 - Zach was a runner up 2A Mr Football finalist in 2014 - Nick was a state wrestling champ 2019, 2020, played on two Region champ Rockets teams (2016, 2019), and was 2A Mr Football finalist in 2019 All 4 brothers have played football since youth league. Lots of great games, great wins, a few losses along the way, but all 4 boys very very special athletes. Micah is a sophomore, and some said he might be the most talented of them all. Lord God, please give him a chance to show us all that. Please. Take a moment today. Let's give this young man's injury to our Creator, and Savior, for healing. Thank You, The General

  3. Okay so I never post on here, but I’m going to reply to this one since you want to talk about a 16 year old kid on a public forum, while hiding behind an anonymous screen name. I’m really easy to get in touch with, so how about you reach out to me personally, and we can talk about this 7th grade QB thing. If you have the balls to put your name behind your comments? Since you’re willing to let my kid’s name roll right off your tongue like it’s nothing. Most of the comments I can let slide, but when you mention a minor specifically, in a derogatory way, that’s when enough is enough. Like I said, I’m not hard to find.

  9. To our good neighbors in Waverly. Like you all, this was one football game we in Fairview do look forward to. Whether it be the heart crushing OT loss or the last second win, we love this football game as much as you do. We’re all in uncharted waters these days. As bad as we miss the Friday Night Lights in Fairview, I think we all appreciate the efforts of keeping the players, parents and grandparents safe and healthy during these times. I think I can say as a tiny part of Yellow Jacket Nation...we apologize. But, in the grand scheme of things currently, I think we all agree that the pigskin bouncing around on the gridiron is minimal compared to health. We, like you, hope this game is rescheduled. But, if not, you can bet Yellow Jacket Nation will be Tiger fans for the rest of your season. Until then, let’s all keep our fingers crossed and pray for each other during this mess.

  10. I feel like the Defense last year and this year raised their game up to another Level when they played Alcoa ... Especially last year . Maryville's defense this year has looked good from day 1 but with Lou Burchfield getting healthy and Burks and Greyrider Jr coming on this Defense can carry this Team till some of our Younger Playmakers get more confidence ... which I think they will with the Toughness of Parker Mcgill and now Carson Jones as an example ! I think the Line got really fired up when Carson steamrolled the defender and they kept playing better and better . Fortenberry was a surprise to me punting , it's great to have someone who can flip the field like that !

  11. I agree. We are much better than last night. We had 3 (I think) possessions in 2nd half in the red zone go without any points. Could have easily won that game by 3 scores or better, but we didn’t. Either way I’ll take the W, need that o line back though haha.

  12. Those 3 lineman being out effected our play a lot and it showed even in the coaches play calling. We had opportunities to take over the game in the second half but just couldn’t make the plays we needed.

  13. The Ford you are thinking about is at Cumberland as freshmen RB. He is a good kid just misunderstanding with the coach two years ago. Blake gave Kobe Ford a second chance and he made the best out of it and turned that second chance into a scholarship at Cumberland.

  14. Looks like Micah is out of surgery. Some initial positivity but also a lot left unanswered as well right now.

  15. Maybe ... but I was also told by a wise Coach a long time ago when you talk your opponent down you just talk down your accomplishment when you do win . Alcoa was a Great team ... Which means ... Our Boys had a GREAT WIN ! DB , Maryville and usually Blackman would be a pretty good schedule to any 6A team , but especially a 3A team ! I look forward to seeing DB & Alcoa myself .

  16. I think if they would run more quick hitting screens it would help their line out. I think they tried too hard to throw downfield too much in the first half.

  18. I just went and read the play by play from Hendersonville twitter, which is very informative and ran well BTW if you're reading this... So looks like HHS went 0-3 on FG's, one from long distance. They had the kick return for TD that was called back. They fumbled on a kickoff return giving BHS a short field which resulted in a TD. Then in 2nd half HHS fumbled on a punt return, which Beech also capitalized on with a TD. Also threw an INT. Beech threw 2 ints's and had some penalties. That's what I got out of it.

  19. Very impressed with Derek and his kids last night. Also, was very puzzled at the decision to go for it up 9-0 but it is what it is.

  21. What does it cost to renege on a contract? I saw the final play highlight of the RedBank/EastHam game. The crowd was awfully sparce and I've been told Red Bank always has a thin crowd supporting them anyways.

  26. Dyersburg can run the football. Seemed like they had more yards after contact than before contact. Hard to bring down! Hit em up high and you won’t bring em down. Hardin County scored at will on em though. But also struggled to stop Dyersburg

  27. Big win for Milan. Be a more confident team now going forward. My prediction would have been right on if Milan hadn’t added that Las TD!

  30. Dearest Mother- It is with a broken heart and a heavy quill that I, your youngest son, who is of sound mind and strong body, pen this letter. For the unseen enemy, of which I spoke, has struck the Warrior camp here in the valley. But I, with the proper Christian raising I have received, knows the Good Lord above does work in mysterious ways. But those ways become less mysterious when one truly knows the Lord. For you see Sweet Mother of mine, the Most High has stopped this unseen enemy in its tracks, and, therefore, was unable to enter the confines of the Beene last night. Had this enemy entered therein, it could have derailed our future campaigns. Campaigns that will bring about a higher triumphant plateau. Campaigns that most assuredly shall bring about a final culmination of years of hard work and preparations. Yes, I shall state it; more important campaigns. Therefore, we move forward by the Mighty hand of God. And yes, Jasper will be able to go forth as well. For you see, I had laid eyes upon Captain Victory's plans for our battle against Chief Pruitt and his Warriors. And, if the unseen enemy had not stricken their camp, I can state unequivocally Captain Victory would have left them neither root nor branch. Yes, the Good Lord has spared them as well. To continue on another day. So, therefore, lets us pray for those inflicted and let us pray and be thankful for those that have been spared and let us march on. March on with His Truth. For His Truth marches on. Love to all- Sgt Southtowner

  31. Ain’t that the truth. It doesn’t matter who they hire to coach up there it’s always a blame of the coach. I’ve seen that pattern over the years from them.

  32. Thanks bro. Sounds like y’all had a war last night with the Rebels. No one in 3A wants any of y’all.

  33. I disagree with you on so many points. Let’s not throw in the towel on the season after one game against a team that could easily go 10-0 this year. Gallatin is in my opinion still better than they have been coaching wise in several years. They have 3 coaches on staff that have been a head coach and despite in your opinion of not making changes, it appears more to be just running out of gas. This was one game, and even though this could be one of the toughest schedules Gallatin has had in decades, you have to give them the chance to try and get things straightened out. They are still 3-1 on the year and the starting tailback did not even play. Are there issues, yes. Give the kids and staff time to improve, I guarantee this staff is not happy about it nor the kids either. Give credit to MJ for getting a little revenge from last year. They have got a good defense and overcame a lot of penalties to beat Gallatin. The 4th quarter just got out of hand. MJ won, congrats. See y’all next year, like usual!

  34. Brentwood is a very good football team as HC found out last night. HC is a good football team too. You got beat by a 6A powerhouse. Nothing to hang your head about. Just got to go back and go to work. You don’t become the best by playing cupcakes. Just got to step your game up. You found some weaknesses and things you need to work on. In the end this game means nothing to the big picture. Just makes you more prepared for the playoff stretch. if you don’t know your weaknesses, how do you get better. Same is true in life. What I hate to see is Monday morning quarterbacks. Like I said., this game was not gonna end well, but in the end you will be better for it. Just my thoughts.

  35. Well we’re speaking on the many haters of the MJ program, you not included. Most I created, but either way they live life in denial. MJ beat a top 6 5a program last night I’ll leave it at that.

  37. Cole Townsend, Eli Bona and others have proven their talent. The QB at the end of Dyer County game was awesome. But yet sorry for the #'s but 47, 36, 32, were exhausted by the half way point of the second quarter. and it showed up on defense, look at the film, sorry guys. some of the lineman were lost 71,74 please pay attention and learn. You all are very talented, the #'s i mentioned above, but its all out all the time or let someone else play.

  38. I believe Brentwood is very good top 5 in 6a. But also the football nut that I am ,I look for every problem with that i can find to make HC better. HC has more talent than what we are seeing. Look at film to many mistakes by some two way players. lbs jogging behind the piay and BW running by them.

  43. Well... another rough one. Just not good plain and simple. Main focus is just improvement from here on. And maybe cut out the penalties and smack talking when you’re getting the ball ran down your throat.

  44. I have never listened to a politician for medical advice. Is that what you are doing? If the doctors and nurses in my family tell me I should wear a mask to help my community and theirs cut down on cases, I can do something as small as wear one. This has never ever been political to me. I want to watch high school football. Every Friday! If the small chance of me wearing a mask helps that, I’ll do it.

  45. If we play like we did last night, Powell will hang a 60 spot on us. I said that last night. On the positive side, improvements can be made. We aren’t lacking in athleticism out there.
